Problème lors de l'installation : grub-install

Bonjour,

Je tente d'installer Ubuntu 20.04 LTS en dual-boot avec WIndows 10 sur un ordinateur portable Acer ayant 128Go de SSD. Je le fais, comme je l'ai déjà fait à plusieurs reprises sur d'autres ordinateurs, par une clé USB bootable.
J'ai comme vous le constatez peu d'espace. Mais mon utilisation principale de mon ordinateur restera sur WIndows pour le moment. C'est pourquoi j'aimerais installer Ubuntu sur seulement 9Go, avec l'installation minimale.
J'ai donc créé avec Gparted (depuis l'environnement fourni par la clé) une partition de 9Go. Lors de l'installation, je la sélectionne manuellement, je fais les réglages nécessaires : système de fichier ext4 et racine \.
La copie des fichiers sur la partition se fait sans problème, etc., mais arrivé à l'étape de l'installation du grub, "grub-install", une "erreur fatale" se produit.
J'ai recommencé l'installation : le même problème survient.

Que faire ? Merci d'avance pour vos réponses.

Depuis ta clef buntu fais-nous un boot-info (voir la doc).

Cela dit 9go pour ubuntu, meme minimal, ça n'ira pas loin.

Merci beaucoup pour votre réponse.

J'ai essayé la commande suivante depuis la session live fournie par ma clé :

sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:ubuntu/boot-repair && sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y boot-info && boot-info

Il me renvoyait l'erreur suivante :

Cannot add PPA: 'ppa:~ubuntu/ubuntu/boot-repair'.
ERROR: '~Computer' user or team does not exist.

J'ai donc vérifié le nom d'utilisateur, qui était bien "ubuntu", et je l'ai renommé "ubuntou".
Toujours la même erreur.

J'ai essayé de supprimer la première instruction, en tapant :

sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y boot-info && boot-info

Toujours des erreurs... :

Depuis la doc de boot-info copie/colle les commandes dans le terminal, c'est plus sur.

A noter que depuis la tentative d'installation, lorsque j'allume l'ordinateur, s'affiche une invite de commande grise foncée et je suis obligé dès le démarage d'aller dans les options de boot et de sélectionner WIndows Manager manuellement...
J'ai formaté la petite partition (de 9Go) où se trouvait le morceau d'Ubuntu qui ne fonctionnait pas.

Déjà ton dual-boot est fait dans les règles de l'art.

D'après le rapport windows se trouve aprés ubuntu dans l'ordre de boot.

Bon, possible que 9go soit insuffisant; possible également que ta clef fut mal faite.

Pas d'Ubuntu sur ton PC. Si tu bootes en priorité sur l'entrée "ubuntu" dans ton menu de démarrage, tu as forcément une message grub> . Et c'est le cas.

BootOrder: 0002,0003,0004,2003,2001,2002

Réinstalle déjà ton ubuntu dans un espace de 20 Go au minimum, et on verra après.

Bonjour,
Merci pour vos réponses.

J'ai fait de la place sur ma partition principale et je l'ai réduite pour avoir 20Go de libre pour Ubuntu.
L'installation se passait bien : j'ai choisi "Autre chose" pour partitionner le disque. Je ne sais pas si c'est l'idéal, mais comme je me fiche de séparer le système d'exploitation et les fichiers personnels (parce que de toute façon quand je le fais, je le fais mal : mes fichiers s'enregistrent là où il ne faut pas), j'ai simplement créé une partition (sda5) de type ext4 avec pour point de montage /. Et j'ai lancé l'installation là-dessus !
Je choisis le fuseau horaire, le nom d'utilisateur, mot de passe etc. et hop : l'application rencontre une erreur et l'installation n'aboutit pas.

Je vais essayer d'ici votre prochaine réponse (j'espère en avoir) de refaire ma clé bootable.

Rebonjour,

J'ai comme annoncé refait une clé bootable d'Ubuntu (j'ai retéléchargé le .iso). J'ai recommencé l'installation (minimale) avec l'option qui supprime l'ancienne version et installe Ubuntu sur la partition.
C'est mieux que la dernière fois mais je rencontre le même problème qu'au début : à 3/4 de la 2e étape, une fenêtre s'ouvre :
"L'exécution de 'grub-install /dev /sda' a échoué. Cette erreur est fatale."

J'ai fait un boot-info si ça peut être utile :

Please do not forget to make your UEFI firmware boot on the Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS entry (sda1/efi/****/shim****.efi (**** will be updated in the final message) file) !
If your computer reboots directly into Windows, try to change the boot order in your UEFI firmware.

If your UEFI firmware does not allow to change the boot order, change the default boot entry of the Windows bootloader.
For example you can boot into Windows, then type the following command in an admin command prompt:
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\****\shim****.efi (**** will be updated in the final message)

Lorsque je démarre mon pc, comme depuis la première tentative d'installation d'Ubuntu, je tombe sur un grub/terminal de commandes, avec en titre : "GNU GRUB version 2.04" et pour description : "Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions.". Je peux entrer des commandes (avec devant "grub> _"...). Je ne connas pas du tout mais j'aurais voulu essayer de faire "load_env" suivi du nom associé à Ubuntu (avec tab) mais malheureusement lorsque je veux taper un underscore _, il s'affiche un 8.

Comment réussir l'installation du grub (le vrai, celui dont j'ai l'habitude) ?

Problème résolu. J'ai purgé le grub et l'ai réinstallé.
