Es-tu en train de dire que tu ne peux pas installer alors qui si tu choisis  "essayer"  tout est OK 
puis qu'à partir de cet écran qui est OK, lorsque tu cliques sur l'icône d'installation  rien ne s'affiche alors correctement?

Lorsque tu bootes avec cette clé USB,   as-tu un choix qui te permet de choisir
    essayer
    essayer safe graphic (sans echec)
   installer
   installer safe graphic (sans echec)

Prends systématiquement  l'option safe graphic (sans echec)


Installes la version,  Lorsqu'elle sera installée, tu devrais pouvoir booter avec, C'est a ce moment que tu demanderas la mise à jour en version 20.04.2

Je défie QUICONQUE de trouver une discussion où j'aurais suggéré de remplacer un SSD par un disque dur.

Je peux "essayer "sur le dvd live.
Quand j'installe à partir du DVD ça foire au démarrage après install.

Quand je boote sur la clé, il ne se passe rien, si je fais F2 ou F7, on me demande un mot de passe que je n'ai pas.

@cardabelle: t'as essayé de réinitialiser ton bios en enlevant la pile, comme décrit dans un lien donné auparavant ?

Elle en est où   ton installation à partir du DVD ? elle devrait être finie..
Décrit avec précision, le problème qui t'empêche de faire afficher le menu pour obtenir le RECOVERY et de devenir ROOT   cette fois-ci sans mot de passe à fournir!!!!
Tu as toute la soirée pour le faire.

J'ai continué à chercher pourquoi mon pc ne boot pas sur la clé.iso.
Je suis tombé sur le Réparateur de Démarrage.
J'ai donc suivi les instructions, fait un rapport boot-info et après un boot-repair.
J'ai ce mesage :

The current session is in BIOS-compatibility mode. Please disable BIOS-compatibility/CSM/Legacy mode in your UEFI firmware, and use this software from a live-CD (or live-USB) that is compatible with UEFI booting mode. For example, use a live-USB of Boot-Repair-Disk-64bit (www.sourceforge.net/p/boot-repair-cd), after making sure your BIOS is set up to boot USB in EFI mode.

Et là, je ne sais pas quoi faire...

The default repair of the Boot-Repair utility would purge (in order to fix packages) and reinstall the grub-efi-amd64-signed of
sda5,
using the following options:        sda1/boot/efi,
Additional repair would be performed: unhide-bootmenu-10s  use-standard-efi-file

The current session is in BIOS-compatibility mode. Please disable BIOS-compatibility/CSM/Legacy mode in your UEFI firmware, and use this software from a live-CD (or live-USB) that is compatible with UEFI booting mode. For example, use a live-USB of Boot-Repair-Disk-64bit (www.sourceforge.net/p/boot-repair-cd), after making sure your BIOS is set up to boot USB in EFI mode.

Please do not forget to make your UEFI firmware boot on the Ubuntu 20.04 LTS entry (sda1/efi/****/shim****.efi (**** will be updated in the final message) file) !
If your computer reboots directly into Windows, try to change the boot order in your UEFI firmware.

If your UEFI firmware does not allow to change the boot order, change the default boot entry of the Windows bootloader.
For example you can boot into Windows, then type the following command in an admin command prompt:
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\****\shim****.efi (**** will be updated in the final message)
The boot of your PC is in BIOS-compatibility/CSM/Legacy mode. You may want to retry after changing it to UEFI mode.

En fait  le logiciel windows n'est pas opérationnel,

Cela te fera trois  partitions à supprimer lorsque tout refonctionnera
Tu peux donc parfaitement rester en mode LEGACY bien que cela  prouve que cet ordinateur sait fonctionner en EFI.

Je ne sais pas comment tu as fait pour installer  boot-repair. Mais tu devrais le  relancer.
choisir  "option avancée"
puis choisir Purge kernels and reinstall last kernel

Tu pourras alors t'amuser à faire des copier/coller de listes de commandes qu'il te proposera d'exécuter en ouvrant un autre terminal avec les commandes Ctrl Alt t

Prends le temps de lire le document, Tu vas découvrir assez facilement que l'option est dans le troisième  onglet et pas dans le premier.

Mon neveu est venu déjeuner.
Il a bidouillé pendant  3 heures...
Mes problèmes provenaient d'un mauvais paramétrage de la carte graphique.
Il a tout réparé. Je tourne maintenant sous 20.04.1.
