Qu'est-ce que tu entends par "erreur 5.000", je ne vois ça nulle part. Tu as un popup qui indique ça en lançant le jeu ?

Concrètement, là, il se passe quoi pour le jeu ? Au niveau du retour, il n'y a rien de particulier, à moins qu'il soit tronqué ?

Le fait que glxgears fonctionne indique au moins que la gestion d'OpenGL est en place.

Il y a une fenêtre 'steam error' popup qui s'ouvre avec "application load error 5 : 0000065434

Et puis rien de plus.

Si c'est un message d'erreur qui mentionne Steam, c'est fort probable que ça vienne du fait que tu essaies de le lancer en-dehors de Steam. Là, il n'y a rien à faire.

À tout hasard, essaie de le lancer à nouveau depuis Steam Linux en mettant PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% dans les options de lancement. Je sais qu'on l'a déjà fait mais c'est au cas où au moment où tu as testé hier il y ait encore eu des paquets de nvidia qui traînaient et qui cassaient la gestion d'OpenGL dans Nouveau. Je n'y crois pas des masses mais on sait jamais.

J'ai eu une fenêtre noire qui s'est ouverte puis a disparu.
Pas de message d'erreur par contre.

Si tu lances Steam depuis le terminal, mêmes erreurs qu'hier dedans au moment où tu lances le jeu ?

Effectivement, il y a du mieux (si on peut dire). J'imagine qu'il n'y a toujours pas de Settings.ini dans $HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/32360/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/LucasArts/The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition ?

On peut essayer d'autres options de lancement :

PROTON_LOG=1 PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 PROTON_NO_D3D10=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

Si le jeu ne se lance toujours pas, tu devrais avoir un fichier steam-32360.log dans ton dossier perso. Poste son contenu. S'il est trop long, tu peux le mettre sur Pastebin et poster le lien.

Le problème, c'est que ta carte graphique a 12 ans et qu'il y a de fortes chances qu'elle ait un port en AGP. Si c'est le cas, ça n'existe plus : au pire tu pourras trouver une carte d'occase un peu plus récente mais tu auras les mêmes problèmes en remplaçant une carte qui a 12 ans par une carte qui en a "seulement" 10.
Du coup, pour avoir une carte plus récente, il faudrait aussi changer de carte mère. Et comme le socket du CPU ne correspondra pas, il faudra changer le CPU aussi. Et la RAM, vu que les formats de barrettes on changé aussi. Et probablement l'alim, il y a de fortes chances qu'elle soit sous-dimensionnée pour du matos moderne. Et pour peu que ton disque dur soit en IDE, il faudra le changer aussi.

Bref : si ton PC a une douzaines d'années, tu vas te retrouver à devoir plus ou moins tout changer sauf le boîtier.

À moins que ta carte graphique soit en PCI-express, ce qui est possible sur un PC de cette époque. Dans ce cas-là, tu devrais pouvoir mettre une carte graphique plus récente mais je ne suis pas sûr de la compatibilité entre les différents formats de PCIe (on doit en être à la quatrième génération, avec des connecteurs un peu différents à chaque fois...).

Je ne sais pas si ça listera suffisamment d'infos mais on va voir.

Sinon, est-ce que tu sais de quand date ton PC, si c'est un PC de marque ou une machine assemblée, est-ce que tu as la références des composants (modèle de la carte mère, référence de l'alim...), etc. ?

Seulement 8 ans ? J'aurais dit plus vu l'ancienneté de la CG. Du coup, c'est plutôt une bonne nouvelle.

Ta CM est apparemment une ASUS B85M-G. Au vu des infos sur le site d'ASUS, le port graphique est du PCIe 2.0/3.0, ce qui devrait permettre de mettre à peu près n'importe quelle carte graphique relativement récente.

Il y a quand même un truc qui me fait douter : sur la page en question, on voit des captures du BIOS UEFI "moderne" fait par ASUS. Or, le retour de lshw indique un BIOS d'American Megatrends qui serait plutôt une version "à l'ancienne". C'est possible qu'il y ait eu plusieurs révisions de la CM et que la tienne ne corresponde pas tout à fait à celle que j'ai trouvée.

D'autre part, je remarque qu'il y a des sorties vidéo sur la photo (DVI + VGA), c'est le cas sur la tienne ? Je suppose que c'est pour le GPU intégré au CPU Intel (Core i5 4430 dans ton cas) mais ça m'étonne un peu de ne pas en voir dans le retour de lspci en première page. Après, je ne sais pas si tous les CPU Intel en embarquent un.

Il faudrait éventuellement vérifier ces points. Après, pour acheter une carte graphique plus récente, il va y avoir un autre problème : c'est à peu près impossible d'en trouver à des tarifs normaux, voire tout court, en ce moment (entre la pandémie, les usines qui tournent au ralenti, la pénurie de semi-conducteurs, les problèmes de fret depuis l'Asie et les cryptobros qui se jettent sur tout ce qui est dispo pour leurs conneries...).

Dans la page de ton lien j'ai le bios qu'on voit en image à la partie "fonctionnalités 8 exclusives", pas celui de la section qui suit.

Pour ce qui est de racheter une CG, c'est bien ce que je pensais... ce n'est pas vraiment le moment.

Ce qui vraiment me gonfle c'est que ce jeu ne demande pas non plus des capacités graphiques de fou !

C'est pas vraiment le problème des capacités du jeu. Plutôt que tu as le choix entre deux pilotes :
- libre (Nouveau) qui n'est pas du tout au point niveau fonctionnalités ;
- proprio qu'on n'arrive pas à installer pour des raisons mystérieuses.

Si on arrivait à installer le pilote proprio, c'est à peu près sûr que le jeu tournerait. De même, avec un GPU de la même époque de chez AMD, qui a un pilote libre beaucoup plus abouti, ça marcherait probablement aussi.

Tu ne m'as pas dit : est-ce qu'il y a une sortie vidéo sur la carte mère comme sur la page chez ASUS (où on voit une sortie DVI et une VGA) ? Si c'est le cas, est-ce que dans le BIOS tu vois un GPU Intel qui serait désactivé ? Si tu as un GPU Intel, même s'il est naze (moins performant que ton GPU nvidia), il y a quand même des chances qu'il soit suffisant pour le jeu et il aurait peut-être un pilote de meilleure qualité qui le rendrait utilisable. Ça pourrait être une piste à creuser.
