[Résolu] Ubuntu 24.04 (studio) sur Elitebook 840 G2 : pas de boot
Bonjour,
J'ai un vieux PC portable sur lequel je souhaite installer ubuntu studio (24.04). J'ai déjà installé cette distribution sur d'autres pc sans rencontrer de problème, mais là, ça bloque. J'ai fouillé sur plein de forums, dont ici, sans réussir à régler mon problème qui est qu'après l'installation via une clé usb, au démarrage j'ai un message m'indiquant qu'aucun système d'exploitation n'est installé.Or, je vois bien le système installé en bootant avec la clé. J'ai lu des tas de choses peu compréhensibles pour un béotien comme moi au sujet de boot ufi sur ce type de pc, mais je n'ai rien réussi à régler pour autant. Voilà ce que donne mon boot-info :

Oui, merci, j'avais déjà vu et testé tout ça, sans succès. Je précise que j'ai écrasé windows sur ce PC, en utilisant l'installation ubuntu studio avec effacement du disque au préalable.
Ensuite, quand je tape les lignes de commande suggérées par geole, j'obtiens ceci
cp: cannot stat '/boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/shimx64.efi': No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat '/boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/grubx64.efi': No such file or directory

il faut recréer l ' arborescence au complet avant d' y copier les fichiers .
J'avais en effet suivi la procédure indiquée par Geole, avec les deux premières commandes qui, si j'ai bien compris (je suis novice chez Linux...), recréaient l'arborescence. les deux premières commandes ont fonctionné mais pas celle recopiant le fichier.

ba oui , dans ton cas , si j' ai bien compris , tu es dans une installation MBR , dans le cas de la discussion , c' est une installation EFI .
pour commencer , donne le retour de :
ls -l /boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/grubx64.efiefibootmgrsi les 2 commandes renvoie une errerur , tu peux essayer d ' appliquer la " réparation recommandée " de boot repair :
installer GRUB dans le MBR du disque .

boot-repair et boot-info , c ' est presque pareil .
Tu peux appliquer la meme methode pour lancer l ' un et l' autre , puisque tu fais ça deja en live toi .

il te faut rester maintenant en LEGACY .
Sinon tu passes en EFI et tu reinstalles par dessus .
CSM il faut oublier .

Au fait, je ne sais pas si c'est important mais au moment de l'installation d'ubuntu par clé usb, j'ai un message "parsing failed" (et la suite passe trop vite pour être recopiée). Ensuite, le processus d'installation se poursuit.

hum , c ' est pas ce que j' ai indiqué de faire .
pour etre plus clair , tu vas dans le BIOS , tu regles sur EFI , tu sauvegardes et quitte le BIOS.
Tu réinstalles ubuntu , et tu vois si ça démarre ou pas .
" juste " redémarrer en mettant EFI , alors que ton installation est en LEGACY , c ' est certain que ça ne risque pas de démarrer.
Apres je ne sais pas si tu as procéder correctement ou pas .
Je jette un oeil sur le boot-info .

Alors on voit que tu es passé en EFI , mais il n ' y a pas de partition EFI .

ah ok, je comprends. Qu'est-ce que je dois fait maintenant ? C'est assez galère car rien que pour avoir un boot-info il faut passer tout le temps du reboot sur la clé usb, puis réinstaller boot-repair avec ligne de commande, etc., bref, c'est pas facile... Et pour accéder au bios, c'est aussi assez pénible sur ce pc, car il faut faire plein de tentatives pas toujours efficaces : sur certains pc, tout roule, mais là, c'est à ne plus rien comprendre !
En tout cas, dans le bios je suis bien en UEFI natif (sans csm).

vu que ça ne fonctionne pas avec l' installation en mode LEGACY et que maintenant tu as passé ton ordi en mode d ' installation EFI , tu peux tenter ( si tu ne l' as pas fait avant ) de réinstaller ubuntu en mode EFI en croisant les doigts .
Aussi , tu peux tester de faire une installation en mode manuel , en choisissant toi même la partition d ' installation et t ' assurer qu ' il installe bien le GRUB dans une partition EFI que tu fabriques a ce moment là aussi .
MAIS , meme comme ça , je ne sais pas si ça démarrera correctement ...

cette doc est un peu complexe , mais en fait tu n' as pas besoin de faire grand chose .
Si tu décides d ' install en EFI , tu as besoin de :
+ En session live , avec gparted tu crees une table de partition GPT. pour ton disque dur .
ensuite , tu lances l' installation avec le raccourci sur le bureau .
+ creer une partition EFI ( format FAT32 ) et lui mettre un drapeau ( flag ) pour qu ' elle gère le démarrage .
+ creer une partition ext 4 avec toute le reste du disque .
Et t ' assurer qu ' au bas de cette image , dans la partie " chargeur d' amorçage " , quand tu l ' auras , tu as bien mis la partition EFI ( ou le disque dur si il n ' y a pas d' autre choix ) pour installer GRUB :

Après installation en EFI, prières nombreuses aux dieux de l'informatique, sacrifices de poulets et accrochage de gousses d'ail à mon plafond, j'ai finalement réussi à installer ubuntu studio. Incroyable ! Merci pour ton aide précieuse, iznobe, elle m'a évité un séjour en maison de repos ;-)
