Copie des infos Thunderbird et Firefox

Bonjour à tous,
J'ai eu des gros soucis de fonctionnement graphiques sur la 22.04 et j'ai du faire une réinstall, je viens donc d'installer la 26.04.
J'ai pu récupérer mes dossiers avant formatage, notamment Firefox et Thunderbird, dossiers cachés qui était dans mon /home.
Je suis pas un as en informatique, et ça avait marché par le passé, en faisant simplement une copie du dossier caché et une MAJ du fichier profiles.ini.
J'ai essayé naivement, en copiant les dossiers vers /home/snap/ (ça a changé d'emplacement depuis ?) et ça ne fonctionne pas, ni pour Thunderbird ni Mozilla.
J'ai raté un truc ou j'ai tout faux ?

Non pas de souci pour coller, seulement démarrage des applications normal mais je ne retrouve pas mes favoris/préférences.

Alors, par exemple avec thunderbird, lorsque tu l'a lancé pour la première fois tu as retrouvé tes adresses mails et comptes, ou tu as du les reparamétrer?

Non là j'ai version vierge, il n'a pas récupéré quoi que soit malgré la copie des dossiers et fichier Profiles.ini.

OK. Donc soit tu ne mets pas les fichiers cacher au bon endroit.
Mais je n'ai pas de 26.04 installée chez moi. Je ne peut pas savoir si il y a du changement d’endroits ou sont les fichiers.
Les profils .mozilla et .thunderbird.

Alors quand même question importante.
Lors de la réinstallation de la 26.04 as tu gardé les mêmes identifiants et mots de passe. Si oui çà facilite les opérations.

On va commencer par Firefox.
On va voir chez toi si tu retrouves le fichier cacher  " .mozilla  " qui est le profil de Firefox
Tu ouvres dans ton home (dossier personnel);

/snap/firefox/common

Tu regardes si tu vois un fichier ".mozilla"
Si oui, tu le renommes en "cacher.mozilla".
Et tu copie ton fichier .mozilla que tu a sauvegardé à la place.
Tu fermes, et tu ouvres Firefox, on va voir si çà marche ou si il y a un souci de version ce qui n'est pas impossible

Alors si çà marche.
Il faut faire la même chose avec Thunderbird.
Dans le dossier personnel dans;

/snap/thunderbird/common

Trouver, renommer un fichier .thunderbird en cacher-.thunderbird.
Et le remplacer par le fichier sauvegardé .thunderbird .
Fermer lancer Thunderbird et  dire si ça marche.

C'est  comme çà que je fais chez moi  avec tous mes système que je copie de disque en disque et de machines en machines.

Désolé merci je suis pas réactif.

Non ça ne fonctionne pas, j'ai ressayé c'est bien ce que j'avais fait. En réouvrant Firefox je repars d'un mode vierge.

Çà ouvre directement avec un nouveau profil sans rien indiquer?.

Non aucun message, seulement tout neuf.

Meme essai avec Thunderbird, j'arrive sur la page de création d'un compte.

Bizarre, je te confirme que c'est comme ça que je faisais aussi, donc je vois pas trop que fasse une erreur.

Qu'as-tu récupéré exactement ?
Pourrais-tu, STP, lister le contenu de ce que tu as récupéré en utilisant la commande ls -la

En première réponse, j'avais en effet changé de mot de passe root/session lors de la réinstallation. Je viens de remettre l'ancien.

Comme Gizmolle, je fais des transferts des mes profils Firefox et Thunderbird d'une copie d'installation à l'autre. l'installation qui sert à copier la 24.04 est toujours à jour, même les /snap . Je transfère les profils sur des copies de 24.04 ou sur des 22.04. Si Firefox ou Thunderbird ne sont pas à la dernière version, j'ai un message qui me l'indique et propose soit de mettre à jour ou créer un nouveau profil vierge en continuant.

Si je copies les profils des applications non à jour vers la version suppérieur à jour, çà fonctionne sans souci, je suis éventuellement dans le situation que connaît Gizmolle.

Pour Thunderbird je traîne sont profil avec des messages dont les plus vieux datent de 2010. Je garde tout, il fait 7,10 Go.

Ce qui m'étonne pour Gizmolle, c'est qu'il n'y aie pas de message d'alerte ou d'erreur.

J'ai découvert Ubuntu avec la 07.10.... Et alors?!...  Depuis je regarde de temps en temps si Windows marche toujours....

Tu peux très bien utiliser un profil sauvegardé sur une machine dont l'identifiant/mdp de session système est totalement différent de celui de la nouvelle machine... ça n'a rien à voir.
Par contre, pour la récupération d'un profil issu d'une autre installation, tu as intérêt à avoir les mêmes versions de logiciel ; des versions différentes très proches peuvent parfois fonctionner mais très souvent ça ne fonctionne pas et il faut bidouiller pour récupérer ses anciennes données Firefox et Thunderbird/

Surtout, prends bien soin de préserver tes profils sauvegardés.

on va commencer par TBird.

1/ Quitte complètement TBird.

2/ On va copier le profil TB sauvegardé sur /media/data/gizmo/... vers le dossier snap tout en le renommant gizmo-tb :

cp -r /media/data/gizmo/gizmo/.thunderbird/rhifvze1.default-release ~/snap/thunderbird/common/.thunderbird/gizmo-tb

3/ On va utiliser le gestionnaire de profil pour que TB pointe vers ce profil gizmo-tb

thunderbird -p

Dans la fenêtre qui vient de s'ouvrir cliquer sur "Create Profile...", puis Next.

3/ Dans la nouvelle fenêtre il est demandé de saisir un nom de profil => ne pas tenir compte de cela mais cliquer sur "Choose Folder..." et pointer sur le profil gizmo-tb qui se trouve sous : /home/gizmo/snap/thunderbird/common/.thunderbird/

4/ Terminer l'opération en cliquant sur "Finish".

5/ Démarrer TB en ayant soin de bien démarrer sur le profil gizmo-tb.


Est-ce que tu retrouves ton TBird ?

Je te dis un grand merci ça fonctionne j'ai tout retrouvé. smile
J'en ai souvent marre de me mettre sur tout ces soucis d'Ubuntu depuis des années et je comprends pas toujours, en me disant que ce serait plus facile sous Windaube.
Mais ce forum et cette communauté est top et ça me remotive à rester sur cet OS à chaque fois.

Donc bravo et merci.

Magnifique ça a fonctionné. Bizarrement j'ai retrouvé une sauvegarde des marque pages bien plus ancienne, qui s'est mise à jour (en partie ?).
Difficile à comprendre mais j'ai retrouvé l'essentiel. Encore merci.

Dans les points que je ne comprends pas, et j'ai bien faillit essayer cette méthode puisque c'est sensiblement comme pour Thunderbird, on a fait une copie du dossier vers /snap/firefox/common/

mais quand je vais sur /snap/firefox je n'ai pas le dossier common qui apparait ?! Ca marche mais c'est quoi que j'ai pas compris ?
