Taille mémoire quasi-nulle et Lubuntu introuvable( résolu)
Bonjour,
il y a 6 mois.j'ai donné mon vieux VAIO , après avoir remplacé W7 par Lubuntu,
J'ai retrouvé mon portable allumé, et chaud, avec la mention " Operating system can't be found ";
Le BIOS restant accessible, l'installation de Lubuntu 16-04 à partir d'un DVD Live échoue "par manque d'espace mémoire " . Ce qui est confirmé par GParted, les partitions n'ont que quelques MiB .
Un ver aurait-il grignoté la mémoire ?
Fallait-il installer un anti-virus (je ne suis pas sûr de l'avoir fait) .
Rassurez-moi: un pare-feu est bien inclus dans l'installation de Lubuntu ?
Je n'ai que des connaissances rudimentaires et voudrait aider l'utilisateur à recouvrer l'usage de l'ordi (essentiellement pour la messagerie ) .

Ce que je peux te dire, c'est que :
1) Ton installation a échoué, le système n'a pas pu être installé (mais tu le savais déjà...).
2) Non, il n'y a pas de ver qui grignote la mémoire, le souci doit venir d'ailleurs. Ce qui n'exclut pas, malheureusement, que la mémoire soit morte, ça peut arriver.
3) Non, il n'y a pas lieu d'installer un antivirus, surtout que la chose est impossible tant qu'un système d'exploitation n'est pas opérationnel.
4) Oui, un pare-feu est installé d'origine dans le système Lubuntu (comme dans les autres variantes), mais Lubuntu lui, n'est pas installé !
Une chose m'interpelle : Tu dis "l'installation de Lubuntu 16-04 à partir d'un DVD Live échoue "par manque d'espace mémoire " . Ce qui est confirmé par GParted, les partitions n'ont que quelques MiB".
Or, "quelques Mib", c'est trop peu pour installer quelque système que ce soit. Il faudrait donner plus d'informations pertinentes sur ton environnement. Depuis le DVD d'installation, démarre une session "live" (Essayer sans installer) sur ta machine, ouvres un terminal (raccourci Ctrl+Alt+T) et donne le retour de ces commandes :
top -bn 1
df -h
df -i
sudo fdisk -l
Note: Le retour de commande se donne entre balises code. Procédure :
1) Copier toutes les lignes affichées dans le terminal, depuis celle contenant la commande, jusqu'à celle qui suit la dernière ligne du retour

2) Dans le message du forum, cliquer sur l'outil <> (chevrons bleus) : les balises code s'affichent, le curseur est positionné entre les deux balises. Coller le texte à cet endroit pour qu'il apparaisse en blanc sur fond noir lorsque le message sera affiché ultérieurement.

Plus de 50 ans d'informatique, ça en fait des lignes de commandes en console, mais on n'avait pas le choix...
Excellente raison pour, aujourd'hui qu'on le peut, utiliser au maximum les INTERFACES GRAPHIQUES !

Bonjour erresse,
Je viens de prendre connaissance de la manip ,( très bien détaillée, merci) , mais avant de l'entamer je voudrais m'excuser de ne ps avoir précisé que:
1 je pensais bien que la mémoire pouvait, physiquement , être en cause
2 l'installation d'un antivirus était envisagée dans le cadre général de l'installation de Linux

Nous avons connu bien des déboires ( perte de mot de passe,coupures d'électricité dues aux orages, inexpérience en commandes sur terminal, ) mais voici ce que donne top...1

Ta mémoire RAM est de 4Go et très suffisante (il y en a encore 2Go de libres, là) avec un swap de 2Go actuellement inutilisé...
Par contre... es-tu sûr qu'il y a un disque dur dans cette machine ?!? On n'en trouve trace nulle part !
Ou alors, c'est peut-être qu'il est mort.
Plus de 50 ans d'informatique, ça en fait des lignes de commandes en console, mais on n'avait pas le choix...
Excellente raison pour, aujourd'hui qu'on le peut, utiliser au maximum les INTERFACES GRAPHIQUES !

Reste un peu de RAM C'est bien ce que j'avais cru comprendre au vu des retours .
Le HDD (250 Go) est HS: une fatalité à accepter . Je vois avec l'utilisateur , qui ajoute sa reconnaissance à la mienne .

Bah oui, pour installer il faudrait quand même mieux disposer d'un disque. Tant qu'à remplacer le disque, en mettant un SSD plutôt qu'un HDD, tu pourrais obtenir des performances correctes, du coup. À voir...

Ça peut se concevoir aussi, ne pas installer de système sur le PC et fonctionner avec une distribution légère en "live-USB", c'est une solution qui ne nécessite pas d'avoir un disque dur dans l'ordinateur.
Bien sûr, c'est plus limité et moins performant qu'un système installé, mais si tu ne fais que de la navigation Internet ou/et que tu n'as pas besoin de stocker des volumes de données importants, ça reste jouable et... c'est bien plus économique !
