quelle version ?

Bonjour,
j'ai un portable HP qui tourne avec Vista 32 bits
je souhaiterai installer Kubuntu,
y a t'il une version qui soit compatible avec vista ? (idem pour Rufus)

Salut,

Il n'y a pas à avoir de compatibilité avec Vista mais plutôt de compatibilité avec ta machine. Kubuntu est plutôt gourmand, avant de l'installer, il faudrait vérifier que ta configuration matériel l'accepte.
Petite question : pourquoi conserver Vista ? cet OS n'est plus maintenu depuis longtemps...

Bonjour,
J'ai un portable Packard Bell qui tourne avec Vista 32 bits.
J'ai installé dessus la version Ubuntu-Mate 18.04.1 en 64 bits (hé oui, le portable, lui supporte le 64 bits, même si le système Vista installé est en 32 bits). Les deux fonctionnent très bien sur cette machine.
En revanche, j'ignore si Kubuntu tournera bien aussi, il est plus lourd et nécessite de ce fait plus de ressources.

Commence par vérifier si ta machine supporte bien le 64 bits (il y a 99 chances sur 100 pour que ce soit le cas), car les dernières de *buntu ne proposent plus toutes le 32 bits...

Simplement parce-que, parfois, on a besoin de faire tourner une appli Windows et que même obsolète, Vista permet de le faire. Autrement, il est vrai qu'il ne sert plus à grand chose (du moins chez moi).

Plus de 50 ans d'informatique, ça en fait des lignes de commandes en console, mais on n'avait pas le choix...
Excellente raison pour, aujourd'hui qu'on le peut, utiliser au maximum les INTERFACES GRAPHIQUES !

Kubuntu, c'est Ubuntu avec le bureau KDE et ce dernier s'est beaucoup allégé. Mais un PC sorti à cette époque j'essaierais plutôt Xubuntu ou Lubuntu. La plus légère de toutes étant Lubuntu.

bonsoir a tous,
Merci pour vos réponses,
l'objectif pour moi étant bien sur de remplacer Vista (je ne peux pas changer de portable pour l'instant)
pourquoi Kubuntu ? tout simplement parce que je cherchais une version 32 bits, et que j'ai un CD kubuntu 18.04 32 bits
Probleme: mon lecteur de DVD ne vois pas le disque Kubuntu (il voit un disque vierge, peut être aussi un problème de lecteur ?)
j'ai donc voulu faire une clef USB, mais Rufus n'est plus compatible avec Vista, et donc je suis coincé ...
je ne suis pas "figé" sur une version, mais pour l'instant je n'ai encore rien pu tester ...

Ce serait bien que tu lises les indications qu'on te donne. Dans mon 1er message je t'ai donné la liste des portables HP. Si tu l'avais consulté, tu aurais vu que la série DV7 intègre pas mal de machines différentes => https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/liste_portabl … _serie_dv7

Pour copier sur clé USB, essaye Etcher qui doit être compatible avec Vista : https://www.balena.io/etcher/
Ensuite, je te conseille plutôt Kubuntu en 64 bits car ton ordi est sûrement avec un processeur 64 bits, et le 32 bits commence à vraiment être dépassé. (Logiciels incompatibles etc.)

Tu peux télécharger Kubuntu 18.04.1 64 bits ici : http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/relea … -amd64.iso
SInon, Xubuntu est moins gourmandes en ressources matérielles, je la met ici au cas où : http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/relea … -amd64.iso

Crée une clé USB bootable avec et boot dessus, ensuite depuis une session live (test sans installer), tu pourras ensuite ouvrir un terminal et nous donner les retours de ces commandes qui nous informeront sur ton matériel :

cat /proc/cpuinfo
free -m
lspci

Ça n'exclut pas de nous donner la référence complète de ton ordi si tu l'as wink

Les consommations de ram ne veulent rien dire, j'ai déjà eu un système avec Gnome Shell à seulement 550 Mo de consommation.
Cela dépend de beaucoup de chose et aussi de la quantité de ram totale disponible.

Après oui globalement Gnome consomme + que Xfce par exemple mais sur un pc récent ça n'a plus vraiment d'importance vu que le standard actuel c'est 8 Go de ram.
L'histoire de consommation des environnements n'a plus d'importance pour les nouveaux PC, Gnome sera aussi fluide qu'Xfce.
Il n'y a que ceux qui ont un vieux PC (ou pc bas de gamme) qui ont ce soucis.

Aujourd'hui si vous achetez un pc neuf il faut toute ses conditions si vous ne voulez pas vous faire arnaquer :
- 8 Go de ram minimum
- Processeur Quad-Core minimum, idéalement avec 8 Threads (8 coeurs logiques)
- SSD obligatoire
- Carte graphique 1060GTX minimum si c'est un pc pour jouer (sinon pas nécessaire)

Plutôt que d'acheter un PC neuf, il me parait beaucoup plus intéressant de s'orienter vers des machines reconditionnées (coût, re-use, machine haut de gamme, diminution des déchets, on évite d'enrichir encore un peu plus les actionnaires du domaine, on fait du social, en fait que du positif... big_smile ) :

S'il a un CPU dual-core et au moins 2 Go de RAM, pas besoin de remplacer cet ordi. Il tournera sans problème sous une distribution Linux pas trop lourde. (Je suis sceptique pour Kubuntu mais il faut tester. Ça ne peut qu'être mieux que Vista en tout cas smile )

Je pense que cette machine pourra te rendre service pendant encore pas mal de temps.

Si j'ai bien compris, tu souhaites installer Kubuntu 18.04 parce que tu as déjà un CD. À mon avis, ça devrait bien fonctionner sur cette configuration.

oui, c'est ça pour l'ordi, mais avec 2 disques dur de 500 giga
le vrai problème c'est de pouvoir installer une version vu que mon lecteur de dvd ne voit que des disques vierge, et que je ne suis pas arrivé a creer une cléf USB avec Rufus qui ne prends pas en charge vista

je vais essayer Etcher

KDE a fait un tel bon qualitatif dans la consommation de ram, et ceci après avoir été le bureau le plus gourmand, que l'on a toujours du mal à y croire. Une machine sous Vista à l'époque c'était 1 ou 2 go de RAM, j'en ai utilisé une comme ça (avec 2go) il y a peu dans une petite association, avec... Windows 10 installé dessus ! Je leur avais pourtant proposé Lubuntu, mais non. "Est-ce que tu peux nous faire ça stp" (une gravure et une bidouille sur le net) Après 15 mn je l'ai éteint et leur ai dit de se débrouiller sans moi, un engin pareil avec Windows 10 on est pas loin de l'inutilisable.

bon, j'ai quand même réussi a faire une clef usb en utilisant une ancienne version de Rufus (2-18-1213)
avec Kubuntu 64 bits, impossible de connecté l'ordi ...
avec Xubuntu,64 bits connexion sans problème, je vais voir ce que ça donne pour le reste

j'ai finalement installé Kubuntu sur mon 2éme disque dur, en gardant Vista sur le premier
problème, au redémarrage je suis d'office sur vista, qui ne voit plus mon 2eme disque dur, et donc pas de Kubuntu ...
j'ai du zappé quelque chose ...
si quelqu'un a une idée, je suis preneur

Bonjour,
Presse la touche F9 au démarrage de l'ordi, sélectionne le disque dur où est installé Kubuntu et valide ce choix par la touche Entrée.
Si tu n'obtiens rien par ce moyen, je te prie d'utiliser la LiveUSB qui t'a servi pour faire l'installation de Kubuntu afin de réaliser un Boot-Info. Tu donneras l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse.

N'oubliez pas de régler votre BIOS pour qu'il amorce sur le disque sdb (ATA FUJITSU MJA2250B) !

Les fichiers de démarrage de [Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS] sont loin du début du disque. Votre BIOS pourrait ne pas les détecter. Vous voudrez peut-être re-essayer après avoir créé une partition /boot (EXT4, >200MB, en début de disque). Cela peut être réalisé via des outils tels que gParted. Puis sélectionnez cette partition via l'option [Partition /boot séparée :] de [Boot-Repair]. (http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/partition_boot)
