Première installation ratée

Bonjour,

Je me suis décidé à passer de Windows à Linux mais je n’arrive pas à installer Ubuntu proprement.
J’ai tenté avec les versions 18.04 LTS, 19.04 et maintenant 19.10.

Le résultat est peu convaincant.
Au démarrage du PC avec clé USB live, le menu Grub 2.4 s’affiche mais seuls les choix avec « safe graphics » me permettent de poursuivre, lancement sans installation ou installation.

Une fois l’installation faite, au redémarrage sans clé USB, il y écran violet sans pointeur de souris quelques secondes, puis écran noir quelques secondes, puis de nouveau écran violet avec pointeur de souris.
Ce dernier est limité sur trois côtés, haut, bas et droite ainsi qu’à gauche sur le tiers inférieur mais sur les deux tiers du haut le pointeur disparait dans un monde invisible .
J’ai pu lancer une fois je ne sais plus quoi en cliquant dans cette zone invisible.

Puis en cherchant sur le web j’ai trouvé que ctrl+alt+f2 basculait en mode console qui alors me demande à partir d’une invite au nom de l’ordinateur renseigné lors de l’installation, mon identifiant et mon mot de passe. Une fois renseignés, j’ai accès aux commandes en ligne. Avec une frappe de « startx », mais parfois deux ou trois, cela permet d’être enfin sous Ubuntu en mode graphique avec sa tête d’hermine et tout semble fonctionner : bonne résolution d'écran, clavier, souris, accès wifi, mémoire, disques.

Mini PC i5 9400 (contrôleur vidéo interne), ram 8G0, SSD 256Go avec Ubuntu  et  HDD 1To avec rien dessus pour l’instant.
Machine dédiée, pas de partage avec un autre système.
Il y avait dedans W10 qui fonctionnait très bien et super vite que j’ai supprimé à l’installation d’Ubuntu, souhaitant couper les ponts…

C’est toujours comme ça Ubuntu ou il y a plus simple ?
Que convient-il de faire pour une installation, puis un démarrage simple ?

Bonjour,
Ton pc est ultra récent (ce qui explique tes difficultés), donc il faut bien choisir la bonne version. La 19.04 va bientôt être périmée, c'est soit 18.04 soit 19.10. Cela dépend principalement du processeur qui est extrêmement récent (sorti au premier trimestre 2019). Pour moi il faut partir sur la 19.10 pour cette raison à mon avis, bien que la 19.10 n'ait que 9 mois de support le processeur ne laisse pas le choix. Dis moi quand tu as refait ta clé usb avec la version 19.10
Tu n'as pas de carte graphique dédiée? (amd ou nvidia)

Merci pour ta réponse,

j'ai refait hier ma clé USB avec la version 19.10 et il n'y a pas de carte graphique c'est le cœur graphique Intel UHD 630 du i5-9400 qui est utilisé.

Oui, enfin violet sans pointeur de souris quelques secondes, puis écran noir quelques secondes, puis de nouveau écran violet avec pointeur de souris.

Ce n'est pas normale, normalement tu ne devrais pas avoir de soucis d'affichage surtout que la 19.10 a le tout dernier noyau stable (5.3).

Tu es sûr que ta clé usb est correctement crée ? tu as un autre pc pour tester si ta clé est ok (tu fais "essayer") ?

Bonjour GammaDraconis,

- Ubuntu téléchargé depuis : https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop/tha … ture=amd64
- checksum vérifiée et bonne
- clé usb live créée avec Rufus 3.8

Clé testée sur un autre PC, elle fonctionne parfaitement en mode essai dans ses deux déclinaisons, « safe graphics » ou pas.

J'ai réinstaller Ubuntu sur le PC cible depuis l’icône du bureau Ubuntu en mode essai, même résultat : bidouille décrite dans mon premier message pour accéder à Ubuntu...

Mais c'est ce qu'il se passe et l'objet de ma demande.
Cela pourrait-il être quelque chose à faire du coté du BIOS ?

Pourrais tu démarrer, faire la manip pour accéder à ubuntu puis ensuite donner les retours suivants en mettant les balises code ( voir le premier message de  https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1614731 ):

dmesg

et

cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log

les retours vont être long, c'est normal.
Au pire, on passera automatiquement le paramètre nomodeset en attendant d'avoir mieux afin d'éviter de refaire la manip à chaque démarrage.

Donc c'est directement en lien avec gnome.

Deux solutions:
- réussir à trouver une solution pour faire fonctionner gnome (et j'ai pas beaucoup d'idées)
- essayer une variante (kubuntu, xubuntu, ubuntu mate, ...)

Le premier retour n'a rien sûrement parce que c'est pas Xorg mais Wayland qui tourne en fait (je sais pas exactement ce qui fait que c'est Xorg ou wayland qui est utilisé)

Au cas où, tu peux faire les mises à jour avec

sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade

retester, et si ça marche pas, je propose d'essayer une variante

Rien de neuf à ajouter visiblement.

Après ce dont tu parles sur Gnome, xorg et wayland je n'y comprends pas grand chose.

Par contre lorsque je suis en mode graphique j'ai très vite une petite fenêtre qui apparaît pour signaler une erreur logicielle, sans aucune autre précision, et qui demande si je veux envoyer un rapport d'erreur. J'y réponds favorablement à chaque fois, puis ça continue comme si de rien n'était.

Concernant un essai d'une autre variante pourquoi pas aussi une autre distribution ?

Oui, à chaque démarrage tu envoies un rapport d'erreur sur l'erreur de segmentation de gnome en fait.

Pas de mise à jour, honnêtement je pourrai pas aider à la résolution de l'erreur avec gnome.

En fait, gnome, kde, xfce, lxde, mate, budgie, ... ce sont des environnements de bureau. En gros, ça change l'interface graphique que tu as. Certains sont plus légers, certains plus paramétrables, ... En fait, il y en a pour tous les goûts.
Ainsi Kubuntu est ubuntu + kde, xubuntu est ubuntu + xfce, ubuntu mate c'est ubuntu + mate, ....
(ubuntu utilise gnome comme tu as pu le remarquer)

Xorg et wayland, c'est ce sur quoi repose l'environnement de bureau. La première version de Xorg est sortie il y a 15 ans, et est encore développé aujourd'hui, mais souffre de quelques problèmes. Wayland est un successeur de Xorg en fait.

Je te propose de choisir entre les 5 variantes (je ne saurais pas te conseiller d'autres distributions vu que je n'en ai pas testé beaucoup) à l'aide des captures d'écran de https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/variantes (paragraphe 2.1, on va éviter juste ubuntu studio et ubuntu kylin qui sont pas adaptés ici)
Donc laquelle tu trouves la plus jolie entre kubuntu, xubuntu, ubuntu mate, ubuntu budgie, lubuntu
Comme ça je te donne le lien vers l'iso à télécharger, tu refais la clé usb d'install, et tu me dis si ça fonctionne normalement

Je vais essayer kubuntu, un peu déçu bien sûr de ne pas pouvoir installer la version de base.

Comme je suis sur Paris, je vais aussi passer à la Ubuntu Party des 16 et 17/11 à la Cité des sciences et de l'industrie.
Peut-être y trouverai-je des explications et mieux encore des solutions !

Le problème que tu as est à mon avis une régression d'un bug sorti il y a quelques temps (1 ou 2 ans), mais je ne sais pas à quoi il est dû (il a été corrigé pourtant)

Bonjour, j'écris depuis un Kubuntu installé donc il y a du mieux. Merci pour les infos et le lien. 
Coté moins bien et interrogations ça n'a pas été simple car quasiment les même problème étaient présents.

C'est après avoir branché le moniteur sur la sortie vga que cela s'est mis à fonctionner correctement mais avec seulement un demi écran au début ! Sur la sortie hdmi il y a écran noir ou écran avec le fond de kubuntu mais aucun menu ou icône visible. Le basculement est possible en mode console par ctrl+alt+f2.

Le W10 installé par le fabricant fonctionnait sans problème sur les 2 prises.
Ubuntu sur aucune des deux sans manip en mode console puis sur les 2 prises.

Je pense qu'il y a là quelque chose à configurer peut-être dans le bios, peut-être dans les variables de démarrage, je ne sais.
Ce pc possède également une troisième sortie vidéo, une prise hdmi placée dans un endroit inaccessible à l'intérieur du boîtier. Je pense trouver un connecteur avec câble plat qui pourrait passer et j’essaierais alors. C'est peut-être une solution.

J'interroge le fournisseur mais les réponses sont lentes.

C'est bien un pc fixe? Sinon y a t'il un dock?

C'est rageant car en Ubuntu Live ça marche, tout est bien détecté et fonctionnel, mais après silence radio au redémarrage.

Salut,

Après avoir erré sur les forums sans trouver de solution et fait ce qui était proposé, hélas sans résultat, mais aussi à la  Cité des sciences et de l'industrie lors d’une Ubuntu Party de laquelle je suis revenu avec une machine bloquée (!) ce qui m’a valu de retour chez moi d’ouvrir le capot pour une « raz » de la CMOS du BIOS, je me suis dit faut te débrouiller seul…

J’ai donc essayé plusieurs distributions pour voir et ça m’a pris du temps car tester la version live ne suffit pas, toutes fonctionnent correctement avec leurs diversité d’affichage, il faut faire l’installation mais ensuite au redémarrage écrans noirs ou violets pour Ubuntu-18.04.3, Ubuntu-19.04, Ubuntu-19.10, Debian-10.2.0, Fedora-Workstation, GeckoLinux_STATIC_Cinnamon, Linuxmint-19.3, Ubuntu-mate-19.10.
Cela sur les deux écrans sollicités pour ces manips au cas où l’un serait mieux servi que l’autre.

Avec Kubuntu-19.10, un peu d’espoir, le fond d’écran s’affiche mais comme une extension d’un affichage plus grand avec aucun élément sur lequel agir.

Avec Mageia-7.1, au redémarrage c’est parfait, une fenêtre s’affiche qui permet de faire des choix entre plusieurs possibilités d’affichage. Un clic sur le bon type et les redémarrages suivants se font avec l’écran choisi comme écran principal. En rappelant cette fenêtre de choix des affichages, j’ai testé avec un autre choix, obtenu un écran noir même aux redémarrages suivants.
Alors réinstallation, choix du bon écran et début de l’exploration. Et là ça bloque, le matériel wifi ne s’installe pas, pas d’accès à Internet, logique difficile à suivre, je passe à une autre distrib.

Le miracle se produit alors avec Xubuntu-19.10, affichage un peu étrange sur les deux écrans, l’un d’eux est à moitié noir bien que le pointeur de souris y circule mais le choix de l’écran unique voulu s’opère et reste aux redémarrages suivant. La suite me donne bon espoir, le matériel wifi est reconnu et fonctionnel (c’est la seule distribution qui active le pavé numérique au démarrage sans que je n’ai rien à y faire, bien). J’ai pu installer un logiciel sans complication.
Bravo à l’équipe de Xubuntu, ça avance.
Une remarque, lorsque 1 ou 2 écrans sont connectés, dans  la fenêtre des paramètres d’affichage apparait un 2ème ou un 3ème écran supplémentaire nommé « Portable » qui n'existe pas. Il porte le numéro 1 et c’est après avoir sélectionné pour lui le paramètre « éteint » et mis l’autre écran en affichage primaire que tout fonctionne impec.
Comme je l’avais dit, ma machine possède un 3ème connecteur interne, accessible qu’après avoir démonté le capot et le boitier ! Est-il possible de faire quelque chose sur le BIOS pour configurer les sorties vidéo de la machine autrement ?

Windows 10 fonctionnait sans problème reconnaissait et exploitait tout le matériel mais ce n’est pas moi qui l’avait installé. Ce n’était donc pas un problème de matériel, fil qui m'a permis de tenir, merci Windows.

En dehors de Mageia et Xubuntu, pourquoi les autres distributions ne proposent pas ce genre de choix de sélection d’affichage primaire, surtout à l'installation, avec choix du connecteur de sortie vidéo souhaité ?

Pour tester d’autre distribution dont Ubuntu, la ligne de commande elle permet quoi à ce sujet ?

En route vers Linux, ce n’est pas simple, je comprends mieux pourquoi Windows reste l’OS dominant.

Pourrais-tu faire apparaître le modèle de ta machine dans le titre de ta discussion?
Tu peux le modifier en éditant le premier message du fil, et mettre:
« Install sur Chatreey, S1, Mini Desktop, I5-9400»
Ainai, si d'autres détenteurs de cette machine veulent y installer GNU/Linux, ça pourra les aiguiller directement vers Xubuntu 19.10. Ainsi, tes recherches pourront être utiles à d'autres.

Car une recherche sur cette machine en lien avec Ubuntu ou Linux ne donne rien, mais rien de chez rien.

Débuter en Console
Si GNU/Linux ne répond plus, le redémarrer proprement avec la combinaison de touches:
Alt + SysRq + REISUB (Retourne en Islande sur un bateau).
