[Résolu] Installation Ubuntu sur DELL XPS 15 7590

Bonjour à tous,
Merci de déplacer dans la bonne rubrique si nécessaire. Désolé dans ce cas d'avoir fait une erreur.

J'envisage d'acheter un Dell XPS 15 type 7590 / cn79018, ayant été ravi de mon précédent Dell Vostro 1510 sous Xubuntu, de la version 14 à la version 18.04.
J'ai regardé sur la page des ordinateurs portables Dell testés, bien sûr il ne s'y trouve pas encore, il est trop récent. Portables XPS
Voulant éviter Windows, donc installer Xubuntu, est-ce qu'il y aurait possibilité en suivant les indications données d'installer sans trop de problème Xubuntu en dualboot dans un premier temps.
Si d'aventure des membres ont déjà fait l’opération sur ce type d'ordinateur, merci de me donner quelques précisions ou de mettre à jour la liste en signalant les problèmes rencontrés.
Je ne peux pas acheter un XPS avec Ubuntu préinstallé, ce portage ne se fait que sur les modèles 13 pouces et n'est pas encore d'actualité sur la gamme 15 pouce, pro ou amateur.

Edith : Dernière question pouvant influencer l'achat, est-ce qu'il y a gestion des écrans tactiles sous Linux, j'ai entendu parler de Linux Touch, mais la lecture des quelques fils n'augure pas une finalisation sans problème.

Pour le dual-boot vois la doc cohabitation_ubuntu_windows car le ssd sera surement en mode raid au lieu de ahci.

Pour la version du buntu, prends la dernière 18040x lts, éventuellement la 1910. Et si t'es pas ,pressé d'acheter, attends la 200401

Bonjour,
Je comprends que tu souhaites virer Windows et installer Xubuntu seul dans ce modèle. Il suffira alors d'aller dans le "Bios" au démarrage de l'ordi (tapoter la touche F2), d'aller dans l'onglet "System Configuation" pour changer le paramètre "SATA Operation" pour le faire passer à AHCI (au lieu de RAID) et tu pourras installer Xubuntu 18.04.3 (ou Xubuntu 18.04.4 qui va sortir prochainement).

Bonjour et merci pour vos réponses intéressantes.
Donc le disque est systématiquement en mode RAID?
Je ne comprends pas car pour moi, mettre en mode RAID ne peut être valable que si on a deux disques physiquement séparés. Là, il n'y aurait qu'un seul disque de 512Go, impossible d'avoir plus sur leur site sauf à prendre un autre modèle avec un autre écran, et je veux un écran mat ou antireflet et très lumineux. Terminé l'époque bénie ou on pouvait "assembler" son ordinateur à sa main.
Pour la version Xubuntu, ce sera la V18.04, elle a des lacunes et problèmes, des limitations mais elle fonctionne pas trop mal.
Je serai en dualboot pour démarrer, ensuite, je verrai, perdre 50Go ne me gène pas trop et Win10 permet de palier à certaines lacunes de Xubuntu 18.04 principalement dans la gestion de fichiers ou transferts sur du NTFS.

J'avais mal compris et j'avais cru que tu voulais Ubuntu seul, donc mon post #3 ne répond pas à ton souhait. Puisque tu veux conserver Windows, je pense que ce tuto correspond mieux à ton cas : My Journey Installing Ubuntu 18.04 on the Dell XPS 15 7590 (2019)
On y voit que la procédure pour passer de RAID à AHCI est un peu moins simple puisqu'il faut que Windows 10 fonctionne toujours à l'issue de l'opération.

Je vous remercie tous, je vais examiner ces informations à tête reposée avant de l'acheter, je ne suis pas pressé à ce point, je ne supporte pas les achats compulsifs et j'essaie d'avoir un rapport qualité / prix correct, même si là, le prix est un peu vers le haut du panier !

Prends ton temps en effet

Pour le dual-boot raid de merde, on t'as donné toutes les billes sinon que, évite un w10 avec bitlocker car pour désactiver le raid c'est plus chiant.

Je le répète : il suffit de réinstaller Windows et pas de problème !

Ce qui compte n'est pas le mode utilisé (AHCI ou RAID) mais le mode qui était utilisé quand le système a été installé ! ce n'est pas pareil.

Si vous activez le mode AHCI et qu'ensuite vous installez Windows 10 et Linux, aucun soucis !
Si par exemple Windows a été installé en mode RAID et qu'ensuite vous basculez sur le mode AHCI, il est normale qu'il ne puisse plus démarrer. C'est donc pour ça qu'il faut le réinstaller (en activant AHCI avant).

Le lien que donne Malbo est sufisamment explicite et détaillé pour passer ce modèle en dualboot. Merci Malbo, c'est exactement le même modèle choisi.
Pour réinstaller Windows (éventuellement), je suppose que la clé de licence est donnée vu qu'il n'y a pas de lecteur de disque ou que l'on peut faire une sauvegarde sur une clé ou support externe.
Pour le mode, comme je le dis, je suis resté au fait que le mode RAID utilise deux disques, je ne savais pas que l'on pouvait installer en mode RAID. J'apprends.
Je découvrirai lors du déballage et prendrai les notes nécessaires, pas envie de planter quoi que ce soit et de me retrouver le bec dans l'eau et sans garantie.

Bonjour à tous,

De retour avec une installation qui s'est passée sans trop de problèmes.

Seule l'installation du module Killer 1650 m'a causé quelques soucis car étant peu agile avec Linux, j'ai eu des messages d'erreur en essayant d'installer hors ligne à partir d'un autre ordinateur qui avait Internet et m'avait téléchargé les fichiers.
J'ai ensuite copié les fichiers des pilotes sur une clé USB, et comme j'avais une arborescence, j'ai résolu le problème en zippant l'ensemble des fichiers, j'avais un souci de liens symboliques expliqué dans le tutoriel Killer.
Installation carte Wi-Fi et BT KILLER AX1650 sans accès Internet

La gestion globale chaleur, processeur semble bien se passer, pas trop de chauffe, les ventilateurs ne tournent pas lors d'une navigation classique web, un gros transfert de fichiers ou une mise à jour complète du système.
Par contre, il n'y a pas la gestion fine et avec divers modes de charge de la batterie comme dans Windoze ou il y a même le cas de l'utilisation de l'ordinateur en mode "toujours sur secteur".
Pour le moment, installation AVEC Windoze donc en DualBoot, en gardant Windows Manager et en désactivant le RAID pour passer en AHCI, toutes les modifications ou indications du tutoriel de Tyler Lum > XPS 15 7590 (2020) ont été suivies sauf l'installation Killer (voir au dessus).
Les drivers NVIDIA sont en place pour essai comparatif par rapport au pilote d'affichage X X.org, je suis sur la version 435.
Il semble y avoir des "blanc" assez court parfois, par intermittence avec la souris BT Logitech M535, à voir si c'est la pile mais l'indicateur est à 90%.
Par contre le déverrouillage de l'ordinateur et la gestion de l'empreinte digitale n'est pas possible.
J'ai fait un relevé de tous les modules détectés et fonctionnels (ou non) avec Probe, voici le résultat sur mon ordinateur : Linux-Harware.

Tout fonctionne sauf le fingerprint, détecté mais non fonctionnel de marque Goodix.

Dernière chose, j'ai viré (est-ce bien ?) BitLocker.

Si tu es mal renseigné, il y a des outils pour une gestion de la consommation énergétique, c'est même bien plus précis que sous Windows !
(TLP et il existe une interface graphique pour le gérer)

Le verrouillage fonctionne, ton problème est ailleurs

On y voit que le noyau utilisé est de la famille 5.3 :

Donc je pense que tu as fait l'installation avec un support live (une LiveUSB probablement) équipé de Xubuntu 18.04.3 64 bits (la version équipée du HWE stack de bionic). C'est exactement ce qui convenait pour gérer ton matériel très récent.

EDIT : une remarque en passant sur cette ligne extraite du Boot-info :

/dev/nvme0n1p4 on /media/phil/DataCommun type fuseblk (ro,nosuid,nodev,relatime,user_id=0,group_id=0,default_permissions,allow_other,blksize=4096,uhelper=udisks2)

La mention "ro" indique que ta partition "DataCommun" est montée en lecture seule. La raison est que cette partition a été mise en hibernation par Windows 10. Si tu veux pouvoir écrire sur cette partition, il faudra désactiver le démarrage rapide de Windows 10 (un tuto parmi d'autres ici).

D'autre part, on voit que tu as désactivé Secure Boot :

Merci à TheSun pour les information, j'ai installé TLP, j'essaie de le paramétrer au mieux sans tout casser mais les phrases ou paramètres sont parfois un peu abscons.
Pour le lecteur d'empreinte, j'ai installé fprintd, je peux utiliser fprint-demo déjà installé auparavant mais il me dit bien "no device found" et vu mon niveau et les différences entre Gnome et Xubuntu, je ne sais comment faire sans bloquer ou faire des bétises, donc je m'abstiens pour le moment.

@Malbo, j'ai trouvé un autre problème lors de l'installation de Xubuntu, peut-être causé soit par mon inexpérience, soit par le fait de mes besoins spécifiques ou le fait que ce soit un disque nvme et non SSD ou HDD.
Gparted me montre ceci : Partitionnement disque
J'ai créé alors que j'étais sous Windows 10 la partition DataCommun en NTFS, on la voit sous Gparted comme /dev/nvme0n1p4 avec le drapeau msftdata.
Cette partition est montée correctement, dans les propriétés, j'en suis propriétaire et peux écrire et lire mais dans les faits, je ne peux absolument rien copier dans cette partition venant soit de la partition Linux, soit d'un disque externe si je suis sous Xubuntu.
Faut-il que je m'approprie cette partition en modifiant fstab comme dans ce sujet ?

Donc il faut effectivement que je modifie les attributs de cette partition pour y accéder. Je ne suis vraiment pas à l'aise avec les nouveaux modes de gestion d'arrêt de Win10 (je m'étais arrêté à Win7, et son "Arrêt" est en fait une mise en veille de façon à redémarrer plus rapidement l'ordinateur, chose que je ne fais jamais, un SSD est suffisamment rapide pour démarrer à froid en quelques secondes.

Pour information, je viens de passer sur la dernière version (20.04) de Xubuntu.
L'installation s'est faite sans aucune manipulations ou tripatouillages externe via un autre ordinateur, c'est à dire "out of the box", avec le wifi opérationnel dès le démarrage sur la clé USB.
Installation en dual-boot avec Win10 préinstallé sans problème en formatant les précédentes partitions "/" et "home" provenant de la version 18.04 par sécurité et tranquillité.

Donc peut-être modifier le listing informatif Liste des portables "Dell".
