tearing sur GeForce GTX 1050 Ti / Ubuntu 20.04

Sur une installation fraîche de Ubuntu je constate un problème de tearing, notamment sur molotov mais pas sur mpv.
Initialement, le problème était visible partout mais en modifiant les options du kernel, le problème sur mpv a été résolu.

Malheureusement, il y a du screen tearing par défaut avec les GPU nvidia sous 20.04. Pour ma part, c'est inacceptable et ça me met en colère, étant donné que c'est un vieux problème et que les GPU nvidia sont répandue avec la dernière version d'Ubuntu. Pour limiter le problème, faut utiliser le dernier pilote nvidia dispo dans pilotes additionnels et suivre ces instructions :

Fix screen tearing for nvidia GPU:

    Use the NVIDIA proprietary driver (version maybe affect 4.)
    Select NVIDIA X Server Settings from control center
    Select the X Server Display Configuration
    Click on the advanced button and check Force Composition Pipeline
    Click on the button Save to X configuration file to set it at startup.

Fix for Firefox:

    about:config
    Set layers.acceleration.force-enabled to true

Salut, j'ai moi aussi du tearing avec Ubuntu 20.04 sur un ASUS X556U

Click on the advanced button and check Force Composition Pipeline

Par contre j'ai pas "Force composition pipeline" quand je clique sur "advanced"

faut avoir une version très récente du pilote nvidia

Je suis en version 440, c'est la dernière version disponible dans "Pilotes additionnels"...

Cherches bien. Vérifie que tu utilises le pilote version 440 puis va dans nvidia settings.

Oui j'ai bien vérifié, mais j'ai pas cette option...

Ma carte graphique c'est une Geforce 940MX, c'est peut être pour ca ?

C'est bizarre. Essayez de le réinstaller :

sudo apt remove nvidia-settings
sudo apt install nvidia-settings
