je passe sur cette nouvelle discussion:
je n'arrive pas à changer l'ordre du boot dan le bios pour passer mon DD TOSHIBA USB en 1ere ligne -- il figure bien dans ce lien https://ibb.co/m86MRQ7

Visiblement, l’installation sur le disque externe (sdb) est en UEFI. Alors pourquoi vouloir le démarrer en LEGACY (CSM) ?

Peut-être faudrait-il supprimer sdb2 et sdb5 ? Ou Refaire l’install en UEFI après avoir créer une table de partition GPT ?
Mais je préfère laisser la main à qui comprendra.

j'esperais une solution sans avoir à reinstaller ....
mais sinon on reste comme çà vu que xubuntu tourne et tant pis pour le demarrage (c'est un pli à prendre de lancer avec ESC+ON

En fait , il me semble que lorsqu ' on installe un systeme sur un disque externe , il y a des précautions spécifiques a prendre . il y a une doc a ce sujet me semble t il .
le specialiste de la question c' est certainement pas moi , je n ' utilise que tres peu les disques externes ...
Cela m' étonnerait que ca ait a voir avec le BIOS .

on avait deja fait cela , et tu avais dis que c' etait OK ....... tu avais posté des images a ce sujet et je disais qu ' il manquait la principale .
pour mettre le disque dur en 1er , c' est dans Hard Disk Drive priority ...
NOTE , il est impossible de garder un peripherique amovible comme peripherique de demarrage par defaut , tu penses bien .

Soit, examine attentivement ton bios pour chercher si le mode LEGACY/CSM est activable et si oui mets le prioritaire.
car il me semble que son mbr est correct.

trop compliqué pour moi -- merci à tous
je vais rester dans la congif actuelle et passer pat le boot au redemarrage (je reste bien souvent en veille)
