Bonjour a tous,
Quelques soucis graphiques...Apres la MaJ a 12.04, les performances avec la carte intel etaient tres faibles (env. 3fps avec glxspheres). Apres un update aujourd'hui avec les depots xorg edgers, les performances sont redevenues correctes (env. 60fps, 180fps avec optirun). En revanche, la carte nvidia semble en permanence allumee, ce qui n'etait pas le cas avant. Desormais la commande lspci -v -d 10de renvoie en permancence

@n_faivre, @Nepenthes : vous êtes sur un Kernel 3.4 ? Si oui, c'est un gros bug du kernel qui désactive la gestion de l'état D3, du coup impossible de désactiver des périphériques en effet, notamment la carte nVidia. Ce sera réglé dans la version finale normalement, on a remonté le problème et après quelques tests il semblerait qu'un patch ait pu être créé.
@Stranded : il faudrait les lignes ajoutées au fichier /var/log/syslog lorsque tu essayes de faire tourner quelque chose avec optirun.
@dragao13 : Dans le kernel 3.5 arriveront pas mal de nouveautés nécessaires pour débuter l'implémentation noyau du support de la technologie Optimus. Les changements du 3.5 n'ont aucune conséquence pour les utilisateurs finaux, c'est les développeurs qui vont commencer à pouvoir travailler sérieusement sur le sujet. Mais toujours rien à l'horizon avant au moins l'an prochain malheureusement.

Pareil pour moi, 3.4. Le probleme disparait effectivement avec 3.2, en attendant le patch!

bonjour,
je suis confronté au problème de la double carte graphique. Seulement, quand je fais le test pour vérifier que j'ai bien deux cartes, j'ai une carte intel (normal) et une carte Ati Radeon. Du coup, est ce que çà sert à quelque chose que j'installe Bumblebee? Si non, est ce qu'il existe une solution pour désactiver la carte Ati? Parce que là, quand j'ai 3 heures d'autonomie sous Seven, j'en ai à peine 2 sous ubuntu...

Optimus est un technologie Nvidia, donc avec un carte graphique AMD, tu ne vas pas aller loin ...
Avec AMD je crois que l’équivalent (sous windows) est PowerXpress ou un truck du genre.

D'après le premier post de ce topic, c'est en cours -->
Pourrait-on avoir un indicateur visuel pour savoir si la carte nVidia est allumée ou pas, et quel sont les programmes qui tournent dessus.
Nous y travaillons aussi, cela fait encore partie de bumblebee-ui. Une première vidéo de démonstration est disponible.

Juste deux remarques/questions à propos de la documentation de Bumblebee (en fait c'est des remarques, mais comme je doute de leur pertinence j'en ai fait des questions )

- Le dépot 'ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates' est inutile pour les versions d'Ubuntu 11.10 et supérieur. Il faudrait le préciser dans la doc ou bien est-ce que la présence de ce dépôt à toujours sa raison d'être quelque soit la version installée?
- On peut installer le driver proprio qui est dans le paquet 'bumblebee-nvidia' (non précisé dans la doc.). Il y a une recommandation particulière à ce sujet?
En très résumé, l'installation devient (sur ma 12.04 64 bits) :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bumblebee/stable && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install bumblebee bumblebee-nvidia
Et après reboot le test est concluant :

@piopio59, et les autres qui s'interrogent pour AMD : ça fait partie de nos projets débutés, mais mis en pause faute de temps. Par contre Alexislavie a développé apparemment une méthode fonctionnelle pour ces systèmes, par ici -> http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=924311 (à faire épingler d'ailleurs).
@dragao13 : Ce que tu demandes n'est pas faisable dans l'immédiat, ça demande de pouvoir basculer à la volée toutes les applications. J'imagine qu'à terme le support noyau fonctionnera peut-être ainsi. En attendant, dans les projets démarrés on a un indicateur qui fait déjà deux-trois trucs.
@snipe2004 : Exact pour le lien, fixed !
@Nikoals : Hum le PPA sert dès que tu utilises une version supportée d'Ubuntu, il apporte les dernières releases de nvidia_current, alors que ceux dispos dans les repos de Canonical ne sont pas mis à jour, sauf exceptions majeures. Sinon je n'ai pas compris ta question pour bumblebee-nvidia.

J'imagine que je n'ai donc pas le chipset graphique d'intel en natif ? Je ne sais pas si c'est curieux, le portable a quelques mois, c'est un VPCF23M1E (Vaio)
