Choisir la résolution d'un moniteur externe sur PC portable

Bonjour,

Le moniteur intégré au portable a une résolution standard de 1024x768 et j'aimerai que le bureau qui s'affiche sur le moniteur externe soit en 1280x1024 (je précise que c'est en principe sa résolution standard et que la carte ATI9200 va bien au delà de cette résolution).

Malgré mes essais de configuration, l'affichage sur le moniteur externe reste toujours en 1024x768

Pourtant j'ai configuré mon fichier xorg.conf de telle façon à bien distinguer les 2 moniteurs. Par contre j'ignore s'il faut bien déclarer 2 cartes vidéo avec des ports différents.

Voilà, j'ai réussi à faire afficher du 1280x1024 sur le moniteur externe.
La conséquence est que cette résolution est aussi appliquée sur le moniteur intégré où je retrouve un bureau virtuel de 1280x1024.

Mais j'ai l'impression que la carte graphique ne réfléchi qu'une fois et envoie la même réponse sur les 2 sorties (intégrée et port VGA)
Serait-il possible de demander à la carte graphique d'envoyer 2 réponses adaptées à la résolution native des 2 écrans (1280x1024 et 1024x768)?
Notez que je n'ai pas besoin de 2 écrans en parllèle. S'il était également possible de lui demander de ne répondre que sur une sortie (a choisir lors du lancement de X par exemple) ça serait bysance

Bizarre tt de même, lorsque je quitte la session, l'écran externe envoi un message dans un gros rectangle blanc "configuration non supportée" et seul le moniteur du portable reste allumé sur l'invit de session.
A partir de ce moment même si je relance le serveur X via Alt+E, je ne retrouve pas d'écran sur mon moniteur externe.

Tout ceci n'arrive pas si je quitte la session via un Ctrl+Alt+BackSpace. Dans ce cas l'invit de session est présente sur les 2 moniteurs.

Quelqu'un voit à quel niveau se situe le problème?

PTDR ,chui pas le seul à l'avoir vu ça fait plaisir tongue

Pour ma part, il active bien la sortie vidéo...pour afficher un magnifique écran noir !

MacBook Pro 8,1, i7 2,8GHz, 16Go, Scorpio Black 750Go. Mac OS X 10.6.8 + Ubuntu 12.04, 13.10, Windows XP, 7 et 8.
Un jour, Ubuntu sera aussi au point que Mac OS X. Ce jour, je te quitterai, Apple.
