[Résolu] Pilotes nvidia geforce 7600 gs et Feity fawn

Bonjour,

Voilà, je viens d'installer le faon fougueux sur ma machine, et ça fait au moins 30 essais d'installation des pilotes de ma carte nvidia geforce 7600 GS en vain que je fais.

Je n'en peux plus. wink

Mais je suis tétue.

Alors j'ai essayé toutes les méthodes, et à priori, il y a un problème avec la résolution de mon écran. J'ai un viewsonic de 22 pouces, 1680*1050 pour l'image.

Il y a peut être des problèmes ailleurs aussi mais bon.....

A chaque fois (par envy, méthode tuto d'ici au shell, pilotes proprio ou libres), le résultat c'est l'écran noir et toujours, toujours, les messages d'erreur se situe (on dirait) au niveau de xorg.conf

Après la dernière install par envy.... (je suis de moins en moins patiente wink ).

Il me dit "undefinde device nvidia referenced by screen "Defaut Screen"

X10 : fatal IO error 104 on Xserver

(sachant que c'est peu comme messages d'erreur, je débute et si vous aviez vu le nombre d'insultes que j'ai reçu jusqu'à présent : un vrai parcours du combattant avec deux boulets aux pieds, sauf que là, je ne sais plus d'où ca tombe... j'ai tout fait de travers... Je sais que j'ai palié la plupart de mes premières erreurs et Je me rapproche enfin mais je crois que j'ai besoin de votre aide ! J'y arrive pu...... ouin). smile)

Il faudrait nous poster le contenu de ton fichier var/log/Xorg.0.log qui contient les messages d'erreurs plus précis sur ton problème, ainsi que ton xorg.conf (postes tout ca entre des balises Code).

Bonjour,

Bon, pour voir, j'ai testé avec un autre écran. De ptites dimensions et d'une résolution tout ce qu'il y a de plus banal et idem. Ca marche avec nv et plus du tout avec nvidia (j'ai bossé sur les "new", kernel source et driver).

Ensuite, j'ai chippé sur un magazine quelques lignes à rajouter dans le xorg.conf pour "enabler" un "pilote" agp spécifique. Rien du tout.

Je ne sais donc pas d'où vient le problème, et pour l'instant, je laisse tomber.

J'ai même suivi un tuto où ici même, on disait de désactiver un splash dans le boot de grub (menu.lst) car ça donnait un conflit avec les cartes nvidia 7600 entre autres.

Je ne comprends pas.

Si je trouve quelque chose, je continuerai ce post pour essayer d'apporter ma maigre contribution pour ceux qui ont le même matos que moi que je récapitule :

Viewsonic 1680*1050 22 pouces
Carte GeForce agp 7600 GS
Feisty Fawn

Je pense que ca vient du xorg.conf mais je n'ai pas assez de connaissances pour le configurer correctement.

Ma carte est bien reconnue que je fais lspci (bizarre d'ailleurs si c'est une agp, c'est traité comme du pci?). Et c'est bien ce qui est donné dans le xorg.conf.

Merci tout de même. C'est quand même super mimi avec le pilote nv. J'ai la bonne résolution d'écran et tant pis pour le cube. J'aurais aimer montrer à ma famille que linux, c'était franchement plus beau que vista... pour l'instant, je me contente de montrer que c'est plus beau que xp (et méchamment plus stable). wink

Pbs d'install avec une clé usb intuix tnt et une webcam logiteck Communicate STX. Aussi. Mais pas grave. smile

Sinon tous mes disques sont reconnus, externes ou internes, et tout le reste marche impeccable. Je peux également écrire sur mes ntfs sans problème.

Ah merci beaucoup beaucoup.... j'ai modifié mon xorg.conf comme tu me l'as dit, j'ai également modifier la partie screen en donnant le même nom au monitor dans cette partie là, j'ai fait du ménage dans le noyau (j'avais des doubles emplois de tous côtés) j'ai proprement réinstallé les headers, les nouveaux drivers ainsi que tout ce qui y correspond, avec la version de mon noyau et .... j'ai redémarré, n'y croyant pas !

Ben je suis revenue et voilà, ca tourne avec nvidia. Du coup, j'ai sauvegardé mon xorg.conf en xorg.sos et xorg.nvidia au cas où !!!

Et maintenant pour avoir le bureau 3d on fait quoi ? (sachant que je n'ai plus l'activateur de pilote proprio sous synactic... sais pas pourquoi ?).

Je suis excitée comme une puce.... big_smile

J'ai installé tout par synaptic, au cas où pour quelqu'un qui serait dans mon cas (pour tout de A à Z). J'ai juste paramétré Beryl en suivant le tuto d'ici (enfin le xorg quoi) pour le final dans une console.

C'est trop beau ! Ca y est, tout le monde veut passer sous linux autours de moi. wink

Je vais mettre [resolu] dans le titre. C'est magnifique ! Quelle joie !

J'ai eu un message d'erreur quand je charge beryl-manager dans le shell... ça me répondait systématiquement erreur avec dbus.

Au bout d'un moment, en tournant sur kde, j'ai fini par installer kdbus. Et le problème a disparu. smile

Voilà l'intégralité de ma démarche sous Kubuntu avec Beryl. J'en profite pour remercier aussi Lestat, car la solution était aussi dans sa réponse (mais je crois qu'il y avait trop de problème à résoudre au départ).

La dernière chose, c'est qu'avec ma résolution à part, je n'arrive pas à avoir le cube comme on le voit dans les vidéos (réellement cubique, et un peu de loin). Je cherche, et je pense que ça a peut être à voir avec la définition de l'image png du cube fourni.

Je ne sais pas encore.

Bon, ben je vais faire pareil avec une dreamlinux si j'y arrive (je suis totalement passée à linux en double boot avec Kubuntu que j'adore et Dreamlinux que je découvre). smile

Comme quoi, il ne faut jamais se décourager... tout arrive, je n'y croyais vraiment plus. smile

J'ai essayé de changer de driver plusieurs fois (notamment par envy), mais rien n'y fait. J'ai aussi essayé de commenter certaines lignes dans xorg.conf.
Par contre le dernier changement que j'ai effectué est d'installer nvidia-glx-new. Toujours écran noir, mais pas la même erreur :

C'est toi qui as ajouté toutes les options dans ton xorg.conf ?
exemple : l'option AllowGLXWithComposite ? (pour la desactiver, tu vires la ligne, ou tu la commentes plutôt que de mettre un "off" (normalement c'est "False").

Concernant, le problème avec nvidia-glx, il n'y a aucun message d'erreur explicite...
Par contre, avec nvidia-glx-new, le problème avec le modile "wfb" est bien connu, c'est un bug du paquet.
As-tu ton système à jour ? avec le dernier noyau et les dernières versions des paquets ?
Vérifies aussi que tu n'as pas un problème de résolution (en la baissant par exemple avant d'installer les drivers...)
Quels sont les messages d'erreurs que tu obtiens avec envy ? avais-tu correctement fais le ménage avant d'utiliser ce script ?

PS : normalement, ce sujet est résolu, tu aurais du ouvrir un autre topic concernant ton problème qui est différent de celui présenté ici (cf règles du forum 1problème=1 .topic)

Merci pour ta réponse.

J'ai en effet essayé de rajouter ou d'enlever les options en les commentant dans xorg.conf, mais ca ne change rien.

A propos du bug wfb, je pense bien avoir tout à jour. Mais il est possible que ce soit un problème d'ugrade vers feisty (je ne savais pas qu'il fallait désinstaller les drivers nvidia avant de passer à feisty).

Changer la résolution ne fait rien.

Envy m'installe automatiquement nvidia-glx j'ai l'impression, ce qui me semble pas adapté pour ma carte ... et ca me donne le premier log de mon message précédent.

Je vais continuer les recherches sur le bug avec wfb. Si cela persiste je ferais un nouveau topic (désolé d'avoir continué dans ce topic).

Update de mon problème : je suis revenu à une vieille version de mon xorg.conf. Marche toujours pas. J'ai désinstallé tout ce qui avait un rapport avec nvidia par synaptic, puis j'ai utilisé envy et maintenant ca marche (même beryl). Je l'avais déjà fait donc je ne comprend pas vraiment ce qui a changé.

La seule différence c'est que les restricted modules ne sont pas installés.
