Installation Lilo : que faire après?

Bonjour,
GRUB étant récalcitrant à s'installer (et ce même en Alternate CD), j'ai choisi d'installer LILO dans le menu de l'alternate CD et j'ai donc installé non pas sur le secteur d'amorcage mais sur le /dev/hda3 comme il me le suggerait d'ailleurs. Mon PC est tatoué donc je peux pas installer sur le MBR....

Cependant il ne boot pas en redémarrant, je suis directement sous WIN XP... comment faire pour pouvoir booter aussi sous linux?

il faut que ton ordi démarre sur la partition où est mis LILO, sinon c'est sûr qu'il va booter (le feu à) windows. Donc il faut que tu actives cette partition (avec gparted je pense que c'est faisable, ou en ligne de commande, tu devrais trouver une explication facilement en cherchant un peu

Ca fonctionne toujours pas...

et quand je fais un fdisk -l

LA je vois pas ce qui pêche... bizarre... il boote direct sous WInXP en tout cas, c'est pénible!
MErci de votre aide!!!!! j'en ai vraiment besoin car la je suis limite tenté d'enlever tout et de retourner à WinXP!! Céest gentil de dire que c'est bien linux mais au moins xp çà fonctionne tout de suite...(bon c'est vrai qu'après çà a surement un peu plus de mal...)

evite ce genre de remarque quand meme , quand on demande des conseils , on evite de prendre les gens à rebrousse poil meme si je comprend ton enervement 

evidemmment que windows marche tous seul , il est preinstallé

mais en installant lilo , tu t'es compliqué la tache
y'a beaucoup plus de connaisseurs de grub sous ubuntu ...

Tu comprends ma frustration quand même! Pour Grub, c'est pas faute d'avoir essayé mais même en Alternate CD il ne fonctionne pas!!!! hallucinant!!!!
j'imagine que le principe de l'installation de grub sur une autre partition que le MBR et le principe de l'installation de lilo sur une autre partition que le MBR se ressemblent tous les 2 non?
