Intall Ubuntu sur W8

Bonjour,

Je viens d'acheter un PC Acer Aspire V5-571G et je veux installer Ubuntu. Mais y'a W8 dessus. J'ai compris que ce n'est pas si simple que ça du coup. Déjà, on peut vraiment installer Ubuntu dessus ou c'est mort?
Et ensuite, j'ai lu des infos mais j'ai peur de m'embrouiller un peu. W8 est installé soit UEFI soit dans le BIOS? Selon comment il est installé, il faut utiliser une méthode ou l'autre? Je suis un peu paumé désolé.
J'ai cherché sur le forum mais j'ai pas trouvé réponse... Désolé d'être le boulet.

J'ai vu un truc, mais pas sur que ça soit bon.
Il faut appuyer sur F12, allumer le PC. On peut rentrer dans le BIOS et il faut désactiver le secure boot?
enfin voilà, je suis un peu paumé, et j'aurais besoin d'infos si c'est possible.

Il faut commencer à désactiver le secure boot qui a pour fonction normale d'éviter que des virus de boot modifient les zones amorces du disque (et "bypassent" les sécurités de l'OS). Je pense que la raison réelle du secure boot est d'empêcher d'installer un autre OS non Microsoft (l'installation de Linux modifie le mbr qui est le premier secteur du disque).

Il faut donc désactiver le secure boot pour installer autre chose.

Après il faut savoir qu'un disque partitionné avec une table MSDOS n'autorise que 4 partitions principales (s'il y a une partition étendue elle est considérée comme telle) car le descriptif d'une partition fait 16 octets et il n'y en a que 64 disponibles pour les partitions principales.
Si tu as besoin de plus de 4 partitions (Ubuntu en demande au moins deux), il faudra les créer sous forme de partitions logiques (incluses dans la partition étendue).
Autre chose : pour emmerder les autres OS, un Windows préinstallé utilise souvent les 4 partitions principales (sans qu'il n'y ait de partition étendue).

Pour éviter de pleurer dans quelque temps, je te recommande chaudement de créer une clé USB de réinstallation pour ton Windows 8 en suivant cette doc fournie par Acer pour les possesseurs de PC Acer pré-installés Windows 8 : https://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26287
Oui, ça va te demander de consacrer une clé USB de 16 Go (ou plus) à cette sauvegarde mais crois-moi, c'est utile.
Après cela, comme l'a conseillé Nasman, tu peux désactiver le Secure Boot et faire l'installation de Ubuntu mais ce serait utile que tu fasses déjà l'essai sans installer (on appelle cela une "session live") afin d'être sûr que tu n'as pas de gros soucis et que certains fondamentaux sont corrects : l'affichage et l'accès à internet.

Edit : je préfère prévenir que guérir : pour faire l'essai en session live de Ubuntu, reste bien avec le réglage actuel de ton Bios concernant UEFI : ne fais pas le passage en "Legacy mode" comme proposé ici. Motif : Windows 8 est pré-installé en mode EFI et il convient que Ubuntu le soit aussi. La doc à utiliser est là : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/efi
sauf que le paragraphe 1 pour les nuls est à sauter et qu'il faut mettre en application le paragraphe 2 "Installer Ubuntu en mode EFI"

Et sinon, si j'arrive à enlever le secure boot, après l'installation est normale ou y'a encore des subtilités?

Je ne sais pas à qui tu réponds. Si c'est à moi, ce que je veux te dire c'est que je suis certain que tu peux mettre Ubuntu sur ce PC mais je suis certain aussi que tu es tout à fait capable de faire de grosses conneries au cours de l'installation. C'est pour cette raison que je t'ai recommandé de prendre tes précautions en faisant une clé USB de réinstallation de Windows 8. Ne fais pas l'installation de Ubuntu pour l'instant, ne fais qu'un essai en session live comme je t'ai dit et tant que tu es en session live, je te prie de faire un Boot-Info : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/boot-info
C'est une sorte d'état des lieux qui permet de voir que tout est bien en ordre avant de se lancer.

Pourrais-tu modifier le titre du premier post de cette discussion parce que le titre actuel prête à confusion ? Tel que tu l'as écrit on peut comprendre que tu veux écraser Windows 8 ou même on peut comprendre que tu veux faire une installation par Wubi (ce qui n'est pas possible dans un PC pré-installé Windows 8). Je te suggère de le modifier comme suit : 

install Ubuntu en cohabitation avec W8

Désolé, je n'avais pas compris ça du tout. Ton souhait n'est pas si fréquent et j'avais interprété sans le vouloir aussi bien ton titre que les explications de ton premier post. Cela dit, pour ce qui est de ma suggestion de faire un essai en session live, c'est toujours pertinent et je maintiens cette proposition. Pour réaliser ton support d'installation (liveUSB ou liveCD), le fichier .iso à utiliser (Ubuntu 12.10 version 64 bits) est à télécharger ici : http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/qua … -amd64.iso

Edit : ce fichier .iso fait 763 Mo et il n'est pas évident que tu puisses le graver sur un CD compte tenu de sa taille qui dépasse 700 Mo : il faudra utiliser un DVD ou alors abandonner l'idée de faire un disque optique et faire une liveUSB

Ok, désolé si je n'ai pas été clair. Je ne veux que Ubuntu sur mon PC. J'avais que ça sur mon ancien PC et c'était très bien comme ça.
J'ai déjà gravé une ISO mais peut être que ce n'est pas la bonne. J'ai pris la 12.10 32 bits.
Donc si je comprends bien :
-Je fais une sauvegarde sur clé USB
-télécharge le nouvel ISO
-Essaye d'enlever le secure boot (si quelqu'un peut m'aider du coup)
-Regarde si en live cd, tout marche
-et si c'est le cas (j'espère), je commence l'installation.

C'est plus compliqué que ça ou j'ai oublié des étapes?

Non : j'ai complété mon post avec des indications sur le fichier iso à utiliser.
La sauvegarde sur clé USB (capacité > 16 Go) c'est si tu veux pouvoir réinstaller Windows 8 un jour là-dedans pour donner cet ordi à quelqu'un d'autre. En effet, la clé d'activation de ton Windows 8 pré-installé est incrustée dans ton Bios, si bien qu'en cas de réinstallation à partir de la clé USB 16 Go, ton Windows 8 restauré n'aura pas besoin de réactivation : il sera réactivé de base.
Quant au Secure Boot, il est possible de le laisser activer parce que Ubuntu 12.10 est compatible Secure Boot. C'est seulement si tu as des difficultés à faire fonctionner ton support live de Ubuntu en session live qu'il faudra obligatoirement désactiver Secure Boot. Donc, essaie comme ça et si ça ne veut pas, on pourra t'aider à trouver la solution.

Ok, j'avais pas tout compris. Mais du coup, avec l'iso 64 bits, je doit quand même aller trifouiller dans le bios ou ça se fait tout seul. Parce que hier, quand j'ai mis mon DVD d'install avec le mauvais iso, il ne bootait pas sur le disque.

Oui, la version 32 bits n'est pas compatible EFI comme expliqué dans la doc EFI : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/efi#versions_d … n_mode_efi
C'est à dire : "Seule la version internationale d'Ubuntu 64bits (12.04 et 12.10) et ses dérivées (par ex. Linux Secure 64bits) permettent de démarrer en mode EFI. "
Tu devras seulement aller trifouiller dans le Bios pour choisir de démarrer sur le support live sinon ton ordi risque fort de démarrer par défaut sur le disque dur mais comme je l'ai dit plus haut, tu peux tenter de démarrer en laissant Secure Boot activé.

Alors, j'ai fait une sauvegarde sur une clé USB de W8.
J'ai télécharger l'iso 64 bits. J'ai du aller dans le bios pour enlever le secure boot et mettre le lecteur cd en premier dans la liste pour booter. J'ai lancer Ubuntu en live. Internet marche mais le clavier n'est pas en AZERTY.

Donc si tu choisis "installer", ça va faire une installation en mode EFI sur ton disque dur.
On peut noter que Boot-Repair détecte "SecureBoot enabled" alors que tu dis que tu as désactivé "Secure Boot" (c'est peut-être une anomalie de fonctionnement de Boot-Repair).
Si c'était mon ordi, je choisirais "Autre chose" à l'étape 3 de l'installation et je créerais une partition /home mais tu peux aussi choisir "Effacer le disque et installer Ubuntu" (voir nota), c'est toi qui vois. Bonne chance pour la suite, tu peux passer à l'installation.

nota : dans ce cas, la partition racine de Ubuntu va occuper la quasi-totalité du disque dur de 750 Go.

Alors, j'ai un petit problème avec l'installation d'Ubuntu. Tout se passe bien jusqu'à ce que ça blaque là :  Running post-installation trigger.
J'ai essayé 2 fois et ça bloque toujours au même endroit. Quelqu'un sait de quoi ça vient?

Puisque ça foire, je te suggère de faire la tentative de laisser l'installateur faire tout le boulot lui-même, c'est à dire de sélectionner "Effacer le disque et installer Ubuntu" à l'étape 3 de l'installation. C'est contraire à ce que je te proposais mais c'est pour voir si ça permet de sortir de l'ornière. De plus, si le blocage se reproduit, je te prie de noter davantage que ce que tu as relevé : tu as noté "Running post-installation trigger" mais ce qu'il y a juste après est intéressant à noter. Par exemple, dans ce post où le message est "running post-installation trigger intramfs-tools"

En fait, j'avais essayé en mode manuel justement car je savais pas trop comment j'allais me dépatouiller avec la partition et que je voulais pas faire d'erreur. Je recommencerai ce soir avec ta méthode et si ça plante, je marquerai tout. Je crois que la fin du message c'est update quelque chose mais je re noterai tout ça ce soir. Est ce que cela peut venir du fait qu'il veuille chercher quelque sur internet à la fin de l'install et que ça plante?

Ce fil n'est pas banal parce que la solution proposée a fonctionné superbement. Je te suggère donc de faire la vérification du md5sum du fichier .iso qui t'a servi pour faire ton liveCD et si le md5sum est bon, laisse tomber le liveCD et fais-toi une liveUSB en suivant cette procédure :  http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.ph … #p10730101
Cette procédure a été écrite pour Ubuntu 12.04 mais elle fonctionne pour Ubuntu 12.10 : il n'y a que l'iso à télécharger à l'avance qui est différent.

Edit : tu pourrais essayer aussi de refaire l'installation en décochant la case "Télécharger les mises à jour pendant l'installation" quand tu es à cette étape : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/_media/install … .png?w=500
Ce que tu vois n'est pas exactement cette vue qui est celle d'une ancienne version de Ubuntu mais bon, il y a la case à cocher dont le parle.

Alors, en décochant la mise à jour pendant l'installation ça a marché. Par contre j'ai des petits problèmes et il faudra que je m'y penche. (le PC redemarre lorsque je veux l'éteindre par exemple...)
Et il faut aussi que je trouve comment changer la langue car je suis quand même plus à l'aise en français qu'en anglais...

J'arrive pas à résoudre ce problème de redémarrage automatique alors que je veux éteindre le PC. Je pensais donc mettre la version 12.04 mais elle n'est pas compatible EFI si je dis pas de bêtises.

Tu te trompes. La version 12.04.2 téléchargeable ici est compatible EFI et même "Secure Boot", c'est à dire qu'en théorie, tu pourrais faire comme suit :
1) réactiver "Secure Boot" dans ton "Bios"
2) Vérifier que Windows 8 fonctionne toujours bien avec "Secure Boot" réactivé (normalement, ça devrait sans problème mais on ne sait jamais)
3) installer Ubuntu 12.04.2 avec choix "Autre chose" à l'étape 3 et partitionnement manuel de sorte que la partition racine de cette nouvelle install se fasse dans l'actuelle partition racine avec la case "Formater la partition" cochée ("écrasement" de l'ancienne racine par la nouvelle)
Si tu veux que je sois plus précis pour te guider, tu peux poster ton Boot-Info et je te dirai.
