Ubuntu, EFI, nvidia, MSI et installation impossible
Bonjour tout le monde,
Je poste sur ce forum en désespoir de cause
J'ai récemment eu un nouveau PC ( MSI GT70 2OC-430XFR ) doté d'un i7 et d'une nvidia gtx 770m et initialement pourvu de FreeDOS
J'ai installé Windows 8 dessus ( j'ai toujours vu qu'il était conseillé d'installer Windows avant Linux et je voulais faire un dual boot )
J'ai essayé toutes les combinaisons possibles entre :
[*]Ubuntu 12.04 LTS et Ubuntu 14.04 testing ( un rapport de bug suggérait de l'essayer ) [/*]
[*]Boot en mode UEFI, UEFI avec support CSM, LEGACY[/*]
[*]FastBoot On et Off[/*]
[*]Lancement avec les arguments de base, avec les arguments supplémentaires acpi=off et/ou nomodeset[/*]
Et rien ne marche
Quand je suis UEFI, je choisit mon entrée dans GRUB et il ne se passe rien, j'arrive sur un écran noir ( rétroéclairé ) et je peux attendre très longtemps sans changement ), la clé USB ne montre d'ailleurs de l'activité que pendant les premières secondes après la sélection
Quand je suis en LEGACY, j'arrive à un menu Unetbootin qui propose les choix Default, Installation, Memory Check, Essayer Ubuntu et quoi que je fasse, l'acran clignote une fois au boute de quelques secondes et ensuite plus rien ne se passe
Je précise que les ISO ont été téléchargées sur le site officiel, j'ai fait les checksums de rigueur et j'ai utilisé une clé USB formatée en FAT32 et Unetbootin
Je ne sais pas quoi faire ...
Je pense avoir fournit toutes les informations nécessaires, j'ai cherché sur plusieurs forums etc et rien, venez moi en aide s'il vous plaît

Tu as fait ta Unetbootin sous quel OS ? (W$ ? osX?)

Bien sûr je te conseille Xubuntu (12.04 64 bits) là : ftp://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/ftp.xubuntu.c … -amd64.iso
Sur un ordi récent, tu auras peut être besoin de mettre le kernel 3.8 : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/ltsenablementstack
Puis tu passes le tuto dans ma signature
Pour le réglage, garde l'Uefi, mais désactive le secureboot.

Je suis au regret de t'annoncer que ça n'a pas marché
J'ai laissé l'UEFI, gardé / enlevé le FastBoot, essayé avec les options de base / avec nomodeset et/ou acpi=off et j'ai le même comportement qu'à chaques fois ....

A tout hasard vos touches de luminosité (Fn + ?) ne sont pas a zéro ?

Pourrais-tu rectifier le nom du modèle que tu as écrit dans le post #1 : le nom correct doit être MSI GT70 2OC-430XFR comme on peut voir sur le site LDLC : http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00152422.html (toi tu as écrit : MSI GTX 430XFR)
EDIT : ton cas ressemble à celui de mvb1 dans ce fil : http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.ph … #p15795341
c'est à dire que seul le démarrage et l'installation en Legacy étaient possibles.

@malbo oui excuse moi je me suis complètement embrouillé dans mon écriture
Je vais regrder le thread mais j'arrive même pas à installer en legacy
@alca94 ce n'est pas ça, l'écran est bien visible

Bon je reviens avec des nouvelles
J'ai pu installer Ubuntu 13.10 en legacy ( j'ai quand même du passer l'argument nomodeset )
Seulement ensuite j'ai utiliser boot-repair afin de le passer en boot UEFI ( aller dans le bios à chaque fois pour switcher d'OS c'est lourd ) et là ça déconne complètement,
au démarrage en EFI j'ai grub qui s'ouvre mais en tout petit ( centré ) et j'ai que 3 entrées, à savoir Windows, Windows et Shim UEFI key Management ....

Et si l'affichage est pourri comme tu l'as signalé dans ton post #10, c'est que le fichier grub.cfg aurait dû contenir des instructions pour l'affichage mais comme il est vide de ces instructions, ça affiche comme ça peut.
Je te suggère (mais on peut en débattre) d'adopter le plan suivant :
1) Depuis la session live de Ubuntu, lancer Gparted et créer une nouvelle table de partition pour le disque dur : il faut adapter MSDOS (au lieu de GPT actuellement) et préparer une partition NTFS de 100 Go en début de disque dur pour y installer Windows 8
2) Installer Windows 8 en mode non-EFI dans la partition NTFS déjà créée : normalement, il devrait s'installer dans cette unique partition mais il est possible qu'il fasse le malin et crée d'autres partitions en début de disque dur : ça tu peux le laisser faire. La seule chose qu'il faut lui refuser, c'est qu'il s'installe dans tout le disque dur : si tu acceptes cette proposition de l'installateur de Windows 8, il va recréer une table de partition GPT et tout réinstaller en mode EFI.
3) Installer Ubuntu en mode non-EFI
Comme les deux OS seront installés en mode non-EFI, tu pourras passer par le menu Grub de Ubuntu pour démarrer Windows 8

Comment je fais pour réparer ça? Parce que le truc c'est que ce fichier a été généré par boot-repair qui était censé gérer la transition LEGACY - UEFI

Donc pour toi je n'ai pas d'autres choix que de réinstaller Windows? Je t'avouerais que ça m'arrange pas trop, j'ai pas mal de truc installés dessus déjà j'aimerais bien l'épargner si possible
Parce que dans la doc sur l'uefi il parait possible de changer la méthode de boot d'ubuntu...

Bon j'ai du faire une mauvaise manip avec boot repair, je viens de le relancer et j'ai ce boot-info à la sortie,

Me revoilà, sous Windows ....
Alors au boot en UEFI j'arrive bien sur GRUB ( violet et en grand c'est un bon début )
Par contre je n'arrive pas à booter sous Ubuntu...
Quand je choisit l'option par défaut je reste bloqué sur l'écran violet ( le disque ne signal aucune activité ) et quand je vais dans les options avancées, quelque soit l'entrée, j'ai deux lignes qui s'affichent :
loading linux kernel xxxxxxxxxxxxx
loading initial ramdisk
Puis plus rien.
J'ai essayé de mettre les options nomodeset et/ou acpi=off et rien ne change :'( :'(
D'après grub.cfg, je dois en conclure que c'est l'étape
initrd /boot/initrd.img-3.11.0-15-generic
qui bloque non? vu que le texte avant s'affiche correctement ?

Là je suis sec : je n'arrive pas à comprendre pourquoi ça se passe mieux en mode Legacy qu'en mode UEFI dans un ordi ultra-moderne : grub-efi qui gère le démarrage sur les ordis UEFI devrait être plus adapté que grub-pc. On constaterait dans certains ordis UEFI que si on cherche à fonctionner en mode Legacy, ça ne marche pas, là je comprendrais et je me dirais que c'est normal puisqu'ils ont été conçus et livrés pour le mode UEFI. Mais là, je ne comprends pas. Je suppose que c'est un bug à la con qui n'a rien de logique comme souvent. Le code de grub-efi a peut-être une petite merdouille quelque part qui fait planter l'affichage alors que le code de grub-pc est correct.

Moi, je te déconseille de faire remonter un bug sauf si tu l'as déjà fait : c'est un parcours du combattant et moi je ne t'aiderai pas dans cette tâche. Si tu décides malgré tout de rapporter ce bug, déjà la première réponse qui sera faite par une sorte de robot (à moins que ce soit un développeur mais alors c'est une vraie crasse) sera pour te demander de fournir les fichiers de démarrage du système. Comme justement le démarrage ne se fait pas, tu ne peux pas répondre à cette demande et tu la sens bien partie la manip...

EasyBCD ne convient pas pour gérer le dual-boot Ubuntu / windows 8 quand il sont installés en mode EFI : il est capable de tout péter. Par contre, EasyBCD est parfaitement utilisable quand ces deux OS sont installés en mode Legacy (non-EFI).
