Carte PCI Modem Conexant_pilote Linuxant ou Dell pour ubuntu 14.04

Bonjours a tous j'ai récupéré un vieux PC avec un modem en PCI

de type : Rockwell International HSF 56k DATA/FAX/Voice Modem
de marque : Conexant

C'est un modem Winmodem
j'ai cherché sur

Je n'arrive pas à installer les paquets pilote avec dpkg
car la version du noyau linux n'est pas la bonne

quand j'installe le paquet alsa-driver-linuxant_1.0.23.1.all.deb

connaissez vous une autre solution pour avoir le bon paquet pour ubuntu 14.04 ?
de plus j'ai pas compris la démarche à faire pour le pilote dell ici est là

je trouve la carte avec lspci –v
mais elle n'est pas active quand je fait cherché avec gnome-ppp il ne trouve pas la carte car je n'arrive pas a installer le pilote de cette carte modem !
j'aimerais mieux utilisé le package de dell et pas celui de Linuxant ( question d'étique )

pouvez-vous me venir en aide ?

EDIT : je vais essayer avec ubuntu 7.10 ...

il faut installer les sources du noyau pour que la compilation puisse se faire.
Bon courage !
Je te signale qu'on trouve des modems USB qui marchent sans compilation. Mais maintenant le bas débit est assez frustrant, à part voir si on a du courrier avec alpine, on ne peut vraiment pas faire grand chose.
