chargeur d'amorçage avec boot repair

Bonjour à tous,

je souhaite installer Ubuntu 14.10 en double amoprçage avec Windows 7 mais il manque le chargeur d'amorçage alors j'ai suivi la procédure suivante . Mais au moment de charger les paquets j'obtiens le message d'erreur suivant :

W: Impossible de récupérer http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/utopic/restricted/binary-amd64/Packages  404  Not Found [IP : 91.189.88.162 80]
E: Le téléchargement de quelques fichiers d'index a échoué, ils ont été ignorés, ou les anciens ont été utilisés à la place.

J'ai pris soin de rajouter les dépots multiverse et universe mais là aussi j'obtiens un message d'erreur :

Error: need a single repository as argument

Bonjour, cette version est périmée, les paquets et dépôts n'existent plus. Installe la version disponible au téléchargement sur le site d'Ubuntu, de préférence la version longue durée 16.04.2 LTS maintenue jusqu'en 2021. La version 17.04 sera périmée dans 6 mois.

OK merci pour l'info. Du coup j'ai fait les même manips avec la version 16.04.2 LTS et j'ai  toujours le chargeur d'amorçage qui manque. Cependant j'ai effectivement pu obtenir rapport boot info  suivant .
est-ce que vous pouvez m'expliquer ce que je dois faire pour retrouver ce chargeur d'amorçage ?

Bonsoir.

Il manque le fichier /boot/grub/grub.cfg. Celui qui contient toutes les données pour pouvoir charger l'Os.

Grub est mal installé.

Tu peux tenté d'utiliser Boot-Repair avec la réparation recommandée.

Mais!!!.

Même si çà te paraît bizarre, à la question; "Est-ce que le disque untel est un disque amovible Grub?" tu réponds  OUI à la question. Çà évitera que Boot-Repair réinstalle la première partie de Grub dans les secteur de boot de tous tes disques

Voila ce que propose la réparation recommandée.

=================== Suggested repair
The default repair of the Boot-Repair utility would purge (in order to) and reinstall the grub2 of sdb6 into the MBRs of all disks (except USB without OS).
Grub-efi would not be selected by default because: no-win-efi
Additional repair would be performed: unhide-bootmenu-10s

J'ai lancé la réparation recommandée, je suis allé jusqu'à l'étape où il faut supprimer GRUB2 de /boot/grub  puis à partir de là je ne peux plus utiliser le terminal ( http://pix.toile-libre.org/?img=1497300285.png ).
Je te mets un nouveau boot info ici au cas où .

Je ne sais pas quoi te dire, à part de recommencer les manips, mais après avoir pris le temps de bien relire le sujet concernant la purge.

J'ai fait cette manip mainte fois sans avoir de problème.

Attention aussi à bien répondre, lorsque on va te demander où remettre Grub (première partie), c'est dans /dev/sdb pas dans /dev/sdb6

OK, j'ai compris, en fait j'avais oublié de valider mon choix de partition avec " * " . Maintenant c'est bon, j'ai pu aller jusqu'au bout de la procédure et j'ai l'impression que Grub est à la bonne place ( http://paste.ubuntu.com/24847753/ ).
Cependant l'installation cherche toujours le chargeur d'amorçage sur /dev/sda et bien sûr il ne le trouve pas alors je demande de chercher le chargeur sur /dev/sdb mais quand j'appuie sur le bouton "valider" rien ne se passe.

Non, çà ne va toujours pas.
Il manque le fichier grub.cfg   dans  /boot/grub  de la partition /sdb6

Pour que çà puisse démarrer.

Oui, alors il se peut que le disque où est installé Ubuntu, lorsque l'on démarre avec des périphériques USB (session live) change de nom. devient sdc ou autre.
En session live avant de lancer Boot-Repair, il faut vérifier le nom des disques avec fdisk, pour savoir dans quel disque est installé ton Ubuntu à réparer.

sudo fdisk-l

Avec un L minuscule.

Question?

As tu essayé de réinstallé grub dans /dev/sdb6 en mettant la première partie de grub dans le secteur de boot du disque /sdb?;
Ce, en passant par les options avancées de Boot-Repair. pas avec la réparation recommandée.?

Oui, je passe par les options avancées où je place Grub dans /sdb et l'OS par défaut est Ubuntu sur /sdb6.

en tapant la commande "sudo fdisk -l", je vois qu'effectivement l'install d'Ubuntu est sur /dev/sdd. Y a-t-il un rapport avec le fait qu'il manque le chargeur d'amorçage sur /sda?

Alors.

Dans tes boot info, on voit qu'il manque à chaque foi le fichier grub.cfg (/boot/grub/grub.cfg). dans ton Ubuntu installé en /dev/sdb6. Sans ce fichier de configuration de Grub,  l'Os ne peut pas démarrer.

Lorsque grub sera correctement installé... J'oubliais de te dire que la machine devra démarrer sur le disque /dev/sdb. Il faudra changer l'ordre de démarrage des disques dans le Bios.

Mais je n'arrive pas à comprendre pourquoi grub n'arrive pas à se réinstaller?

On va tenter de réinstaller grub depuis la session live en commande, en chrootant. (c'est ce que fait boot-repair)

En session live les partitions système démontée(/dev/sdb6 en passant par Gparted si nécéssaire).

vérifier avec fdisk qu'on a bien toujours Ubuntu dans /dev/sdb6, sinon adapter. Faire des copier/coller des commandes.

sudo mkdir /media/sdb6

sudo mount /dev/sdb6 /media/sdb6

cd /media/sdb6 

sudo mount --bind /dev dev

sudo mount --bind /sys sys

sudo mount --bind /proc proc

sudo chroot .

sudo update-grub

sudo grub-install /dev/sdb

Si la manip ne retourne pas d'erreur, on continue, sinon retourner le contenu du terminal.

exit

sudo umount proc

sudo umount dev

sudo umount sys

cd ..

sudo umount /dev/sdb6

Si la manip ne retourne pas d'erreur, on sort par un.

exit

Sinon retourner le contenu du terminal pour savoir ce qu'il se passe.

En mode Legacy grub a besoin d'une partition dédiée type bios grub pour l'installation sur un disque gpt. Une partie de l'installation va dans le mbr, et comme il n'y a pas assez de place une autre partie va dans la partition dédiée, une partition de 1 à 2 Mo suffit. Le disque sda n'en a pas donc ça échoue.

L'exécution de « grub-install /dev/sda » a échoué.

Il y a deux disques dans cette machine.
/dev/sda avec une table de partition de type GPT.
/dev/sdb avec une table de partition type MSDos.

Ubuntu est installé en /dev/sdb6, et on demande de mettre la première partie de Grub dans le secteur de boot de /dev/sdb.

OK, si on veut installer la première partie de Grub dans le secteur de boot de /sda, il faudrait une petite partition sans format, avec le drapeau bios-boot, qui recevra le core.img

Mais comme on demande que grub soit installé dans /sdb, normalement sur ce disque, il n'y a pas besoin de ce type de partition bios-boot, Non?

Pourquoi le système veut installer grub sur /sda, alors qu'on lui indique de le faire dans /sdb?

Là, il y a quelque chose que je ne comprends pas.

lorsque tu installes, prends le choix "autre choses" et modifies l'endroit qui indique que la structure de boot sera mise sur sda pour y mettre sdb

Nota, si tu tiens absolument a booter via sda, il faut que tu installes la parttion bios boot sur sda car tu n'as pas installé ubuntu sur sda

Alors , pour récapituler:
- Avec Babdu89, on a fait en sorte que Grub soit installé sur sdb, mais l'install continue à échouer car le système cherche Grub sur /sda.

- Laurent85 et Bougron disent que c'est normal car il faut une partition partition de type bios-boot sur sda.
==> à partir de Gparted je peux modifier le flag de la sous-partition /sda3 pour obtenir ce type de partition.  Est- ce que je fais ça ? sachant qu'à la base j'avais crée cette sous-partition(30Go) pour faire de la place à Linux (comme suggéré dans ce lien).
je peux aussi créer une nouvelle sous-partition sur /sda mais Gparted me demande alors de démonter les partitions actives, en l’occurrence celle qui contient toutes mes données, est-ce que je pourrais les retrouver sur le système Linux après ?
==> tout ceci est quand même étrange, je repose la même question que Babdu89 : "Pourquoi le système veut installer grub sur /sda, alors qu'on lui indique de le faire dans /sdb?"

- Bougron parle de prendre le choix "autre chose" ==> je ne vois pas du tout de quoi il s'agit, en fait l'installation ne me laisse aucun choix sauf après le plantage où je peux choisir d'appeler /sdb mais lorsque je clique sur "Valider" rien ne se passe.

Oui, au fait!!.
Nous n'avons pas la réponse, à savoir si la machine démarre bien le bios réglé pour qu'elle boot sur le disque /dev/sdb, et non pas sur /sda.

Le choix "autre chose" concerne l'installation de Ubuntu depuis la session live, ce qui permet de choisir le disque et les partitions d'installation. Là ton système est déjà installé, et on cherche à réparer le démarrage.

Tu dis que le terminal n'a pas retourné d'erreur en réinstallant grub en commande dans l'Os en /sdb6 et /sdb.

Alors, il a bien réinstallé Grub dans l'Os en /dev/sdb6, en mettant la première partie de grub dans le secteur de boot du disque /sdb, et non sur le disque /sda, çà devrait marcher...

N'oubliez pas de régler votre BIOS pour qu'il amorce sur le disque sdb (120GB) !

Normalement si la machine démarre sur le disque /dev/sdb.

Il me semble que la documentation sur la création de la partition BIOS-BOOT est devenue absolument débile!!!!
Créer une partition BIOS-Boot

Une partition BIOS-Boot peut être créée via une version récente de gParted, et doit posséder les caractéristiques suivantes:

    Point de montage : /boot
    Taille : entre 10Mo et 300Mo
    Type : ext2
    Autre : doit être située en début d'un disque partitionné en GPT, et doit posséder un drapeau bios_grub

Mais laurent85 connait mieux le sujet que moi.

PS1: Je ne comprends pas pourquoi le choix "autre chose" n'est pas proposé si le choix "installer à coté" a été proposé.

PS2 Démonter une partition n'est pas supprimer une partition. Au remontage suivant on retrouve toutes les données
      Oui il faut donc que tu démontes une partition de SDA et que tu la rétrécisses de 1 ou 2 Mo sauf si tu vois qu'il y a encore un coin d'espace disponible afin de pouvoir créer  la partition nécessaire.

à Babdu89 : quand je disais "... à l'installation, j'ai toujours le message d'erreur..." je voulais dire "pendant la procédure d'installation Ubuntu 16.04". Ce qui est différent de l'installation de grub en commande dans l'Os en /sdb6 et /sdb, qui elle, a bien fonctionné. Désolé pour la confusion.

C'est correcte à mon avis.

Le fichier grub.cfg de l'Os installé en /dev/sdb6 n'y est toujours pas.
On voit bien le fstab, le fichier /etc/default/grub, mais pas de grub.cfg

Je commence à me demandé si il n'y a pas un souci autre que grub dans cette installation; le noyau disparu ou cassé par exemple.

Pourquoi la réinstallation de grub ne génère pas le fichier grub.cfg ?

Sans ce fichier pas de chargement de Ubuntu possible.

Il est de meilleure qualité spécialement pour les machines positionnées en EFI qui fonctionnent en legacy

Il est fort possible que ton installateur veuille la présence d'une partition FAT32 dans SDA
Car il est connu qu'en EFI, le disque qu'on propose pour recevoir la structure de boot n'est pas pris en considération.

Il faut abolument que tu ne fasses pas une installation en EFI mais en legacy pour conserver le dual boot avec windows
Afin de savoir si ton boot est bien fait enn legacy, tu feras la commande suivante

    [ -d /sys/firmware/efi ] && echo "Session EFI" || echo "Session non-EFI"

Dans les premiers boot info, on voit que la machine est démarrée en mode Bios_Legacy.

Pourquoi çà change avec le dernier boot info? .

Pour moi;
Windows 7 est un Os en 32 bits et est installé sur le hdd /dev/sdb en /sdb1.

sdb1	: sdb,	not-sepboot,	no-grubenv	nogrub,	no-docgrub,	no-update-grub,	32,	

Si il était installé sur le hdd /sda qui est en GPT, il ne fonctionnerait pas.
Installé en /sdb type de partitions MSDos, il doit fonctionner.

La machine boot sur /sda, mais Windows est installé en /sdb.

BenjaminP_87, as tu essayé de faire démarrer la machine sur le disque /sdb?
