Écran mal détecté par Ubuntu (TV Sony Bravia) et mauvaise résolution

Bonjour,

Mon problème est le suivant : je viens de changer de téléviseur (TV SONY Bravia KDL-40W4000), le PC (lambda, récupéré par un ami au boulot, carte graphique intégrée, version Ubuntu 16.04 LTS) y est raccordé et me sert de "disque dur multimédia" et il y a dû avoir un bug lors de la détection de l'écran car il me dit que c'est un écran Sony mais 72 pouces et la meilleure résolution qui m'est proposée dans les paramètres d'affichage est 1360x768... Et je ne comprends pas d'où vient le problème car avec mon ancienne TV qui était elle aussi une Sony Bravia, je n'avais eu aucun souci et j'avais l'affichage en 1920x1080.

En revanche, impossible de trouver le /etc/X11/xorg.conf...

Que puis-je faire pour pouvoir sélectionner la bonne résolution et profiter au maximum de mon écran ?

N.B. : Je suis loin d'être un pro d'Ubuntu, encore moins de l'utilisation en ligne de commande mais je saurai faire des choses basiques si le besoin s'en fait sentir.

il y as:
Tableau de compatibilité du signal d'entrée de l'ordinateur pour PC
qui donne les valeur que tu retrouve dans ton choix et dessolé mais ça donne rien de mieux en te branchant en HDMI

La fiche technique de ta TV explique pourquoi tu obtiens cette résolution de 1360x768 en VGA.

Voir, ci-dessous la partie concernée :
