DMA : comment les activés sous Hardy?

Bonjour à tous,

Je soulève un autre souci que j'ai, à savoir que je ne peux pas activer (ni même savoir si ils sont dejà activés) avec hdparm, puisque les disques sont maintenant notés sdx et non hdx.

Comment dois-je faire pour:

1 - savoir si les DMA sont activé ( se dont je doute).
2 - les activés si ce n'est pas le cas.

Si celà avait été aussi simple, je n'aurais pas lancé de sujet. j'obtiens le message d'erreur suivant:

aegehn@aegehn-laptop:~$ sudo hdparm -d1 /dev/sda

sudo hdparm /dev/sdx

va donner la configuration du disque.

Déjà ces disques sont paramétrés en 16 bits ce n'est pas normal.
Il doit y avoir un problème de driver qui expliquerait la suite et les autres problèmes.

Ce sont des sata ou des ide ? Connectés sur quoi CM ou carte additionnelle ?

Edit: regardes ce que dit un dmesg juste après le boot à propos des disques.

Oui, mais mon boot est sur sda1.
Note que depuis l'install j'ai modifié la taille de mes partitions avec le cd live et gparted, puis reformater sda3 après reboot en locale.
Et comme j'aime les choses simples (aie !!! pas sur la tête) je suis au depart sur une Ubuntu standart vitaminée avec Ubuntu Studio (ajouté avec synaptic) donc en noyau Real-Time.
Et c'est vrai que je trouve mes acces dusque dur assez lent par rapport à gutsy. Je n'ai pas fait de MAJ de distribution, juste une install avec formatage de la racine et du home (c'est plus propre à mon sens)

Mon DD sda est interne d'un portable, et sdb est externe.

Demarrer avec un externe perturberait vraiment les choses?

hdparm ne fonctionne qu'avec les disques IDE, donc vérifie que tes disques ne sont pas en SATA (ils sont surement en SATA vu le message "HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device
")

Une partion ubuntu standard avec le boot + une partition Ubuntu-Studio avec un home commun, tout en gardant la partition data.
Je suis prêt a faire une réinstall complète si besoin.

Mon portable a dejà quelques années, et je ne pense pas ètre en SATA. C'est d'autant plus rageant que celà fonctionnait très bien avant la mise à jour ^^.

Problème de driver comme déjà dit. Le kernel d'hardy doit embarquer un driver qui ne va pas.

On a déjà eu un problème de ce genre avec les cartes PCI IDE où le driver it821x ne permet pas d'émuler le DMA sur les disques. Tout d'abord Ubuntu avait changer le driver dans Feisty mais là on perdait les disques, puis après remise du vieux driver on retrouvait les disques mais sans DMA.

tu peux essayer d'envoyer un rapport de bugs : sans grand espoir.

Tu peux toujours essayer de le passer en 32 bits avec la commande

sudo hparm -c1 /dev/sdx

Si cela marche tu gagneras un peu de vitesse de transfert.

Pour avoir la vitesse de transfert

sudo hdparm -tT /dev/sdx

Je suis tétu mais je ne raconte pas n'importe quoi. Je dit ça sans facheries aucune. Toutefois avec ma sois disant usine à gaz, j'ai voulu vérifier. Donc réinstalle de ma bécane.
Et sans UbuntuStudio j'ai le même message d'erreur avec "sudo hdparm /dev/sda"
Alors je pose la question est vraiment hdparm qu'il faut utiliser sous hardy ?
Si oui alors je me demande quel drivers il faut utiliser pour le disque dur.
Je n'en trouve pas sur la toile.

Salut,

J'ai les mêmes erreurs avec le lecteur dvd ( combo cd/dvd) d'un viel omnibook xe3 gf. Que cela soit sous debian etch, lenny ou sid ( j'ai tout essayé) et antiX7.2: je ne peux lire aucun dvd...Le seul truc c'est que le DMA est bien activé... ( en fait UDMA/33)
Donc le problème est ailleurs...mais où?

Semble bien qu'à partir de 2.6.22,  des modules ne soit pas "pris en charge"...je ne sais pas...ça dépasse mes maigres compétences...

Peut-être qu'en postant vos hwinfo, lsmod..., dmesg grep | IDE, ça pourra donner des pistes...Et hdparm --help permet de comprendre les subtilités...

Ou en allant tripoter le fichier /etc/hdparm.conf...( voir le manuel en ligne)?

Bon courage. Si je trouve une solution je fais savoir.
