[RESOLU] Erreur 17 du grub, 2 disques physiques

Bonjour à toute la communauté.
Depuis plusieurs mois, je me prépare a installer ubuntu, et ho miracle, je reçois un nouvel ordi flambant neuf. Je prend mon CD de "hardy heron" et j'installe tranquillement ubuntu en suivant le tutoriel du site du zéro (sur l'ancien ordi d'où j'écris ces lignes)...

mais au redémarrage, je tombe sur

GRUB loading stage1.5

Grub loading plase wait...
Error 17

j'ai fait plusieurs recherche sur le forum, sur le site du zéro mais rien n'y fait... le fait est que ma configuration de Disque est différente, il y a 2 disques physiques séparé de 160 Go chacun, voici la liste des partition:

/dev/sda1 NTFS  OS (Windows Vista)
       sda2 NTFS  HP recovery system (partition créée par le constructeur pour prévenir un crash)

/dev/sdb1 Ext3   UBUNTU
       sdb2 Ext3   DATA	(j'ai installé FS driver pour partager mes documents entre les 2 systèmes)
       sdb3 SWAP linux

Heureusement pour moi, le live CD fonctionne...
En espérant que vous m'aiderez a sortir de ce mauvais pas...

Actuellement sur quel disque bootes-tu dans le bios (Vista ou Ubuntu)?
Vista démarre-t-il sans problèmes ?
Où as-tu installé le bootloader de grub sur le MBR de /dev/sda ou /dev/sdb??

Peux-tu lister le fichier :
/boot/grub/menu.lst qui se trouve sur /dev/sdb1 ?

Heu... (ouch ... je dois revoir mes leçon de vocabulaire moi...^^ )
Le bios est bien sur le disque de Vista
je ne lance aucun OS, uniquement le bios (HP en l'occurrence) et il s'arrête à l'erreur 17

techniquement le boot loader est sur sda
je sui sur que tout l'installation a marché, j'arrive a accéder au dossiers système de windows via livecd, tout comme j'arrive a aller dans /home de /dev/sdb1

avec le live cd, je peux en effet lister
/boot/grub/menu.lst (via nautilus...)

Salut

Peux-tu depuis le LiveCd donner le résultat de :
sudo fdisk -l (-L minuscule)
et aussi lister (dans /dev/sdb1) le fichier :
/boot/grub/device.map

Il semble malgré tout d'après tes infos et l'erreur 17 (partition existante mais non ext3) que dans le bios, tu démarres sur /dev/sdb.
Tu dois pouvoir vérifier la priorité de démarrage des différents disques.
Vérifie aussi que tu n'as pas dans les premiers messages du boot la possibilité avec une touche de fonction (souvent F12) de choisir sur quel disque booter.

Attention ne pas modifier le 1 par 0 et l'ordre de boot.

Attention c'est quoi qui marche ???
Si c'est le changement dans menu.lst, c'est pas fini.

Tu réedites (sudo ) ce fichier et tu modifies :
# groot=(hd1,0)
par
# groot=(hd0,0)
ensuite :
sudo update-grub et tu acceptes les modifs.

Sinon à la prochaine maj du kernel plouf plouf.

De plus pour faire fonctionner Vista il faudra modifier ainsi sa partie (toujours dans menu.lst)

J'ai parlé trop vite...
maintenant, j'ai le grub qui trouve le bios, mais quand il me demande quel système booter.. je n'arrive a en ouvrir aucun ! lorsque je demande ubuntu, il me met erreur 17 et quand je sélectionne vista, j'ai erreur 13 qui s'affiche maintenant!

je remet le fichier menu.lst, je crois que c'est ça que j'ai modifié hier qui n'est pas bon...

Elle devrait être ce que je t'affichais au post #8 :

De plus tu as changé l'ordre de boot.
Maintenant tu bootes sur /dev/sda et comme tu y as aussi installé GRUB tu te retrouves dans le cas inverse des post #1 et #3.

En fait si tu bootes sur /dev/sda ton menu.lst initial listé post #3 est bon.
Si tu bootes sur /dev/sdb c'est le menu.lst actuel (en modifiant bien sûr la partie Vista).

Le tout est de te décider.

1le lecteur CD/DVD
2Hard Disk
je voudrai booter sur sda

Bon.

Depuis un Livecd, tu montes la partition /dev/sdb1 :
ensuite tu sauves le menu.lst actuel :
sudo cp /point_de_montage/boot/grub/menu.lst /point_de_montage/boot/grub/menu.lst.sov
Tu ouvres ce menu.lst :
sudo gedit /point_de_montage/boot/grub/menu.lst
Tu vérifies qu'il correspond bien a celui listé post #10
Ensuite tu fais un copier/coller du menu.lst listé au post #3 et tu remplaces le menu.lst actuel.
Tu sauves et rebootes.

Si c'est ok c'est que tu bootes maintenant sur /dev/sda

As-tu essayé de lister les paramètres du bios pour vérifier la priorité des disques dans la séquence de boot?

En général il s'agit d'une touche de fonction au démarrage de l'ordi F10, F2, F12 ou Suppr.

Là tu devrais voir quel disque démarre en premier.

Sinon tu peux réinstaller le grub loader d'ubuntu sur /dev/sda depuis un LiveCd :
Attention toutefois que ton Pc ne soit pas tatoué (je ne pense pas que ce soit le cas avec Hp)

sudo grub --> grub>
là tu tapes :
find /boot/grub/menu.lst --> devrait donner (hd1,0)
root (hd1,0)
puis
setup (hd0)
quit

et tu essayes de rebooter.

C'est réparé ! désormais le grub s'affiche et lance parfaitement vista ou ubuntu !
un grand merci pour ton aide !
et là, je peu enfin mettre résolu pour de bon en haut du topic ! (et commencer a charger les paquet qu'il me faut):D
