wifi sous intrepid et packard bell easy note
Bonjour. Après un échec cuisant l'été dernier(config wifi sous Hardy impossible malgré les aides du forum...et abandon), je retente, avec cette fois ci intrepid. ça a l'air mieux car mon bouton wifi qui ne s'était jamais allumé sous hardy s'allume maintenant!
J'ai réussi à me connecter en filaire, mais je n'y arrive pas en wifi. j'ai mis à jour en filaire hier.
si j'allume le portable sans cable, NM "voit" ma live box, me demande la clé WPA : je la rentre, il cherche à se connecter(2 petites boules et flèche qui tourne) mais n'y arrive pas. J'ai été voir un peu dans NM ce que je pouvais faire, mais je suis tombé sur des demandes d'adresses MAC, ID client DHCP...j'y comprends rien.
Un petit coup de main n'est pas de refus

bon, j'ai fait la tentative d'enlever la sécurité wifi dans la livebox : rien à faire.
En fouillant par clic droit sur l'icône de NM, il semblerait qu'il me manque dans "paramètre ipv4" le ID client DHCP. je ne sais pas où ça se trouve!

Bonsoir,
je garantie pas que ce soit la solution mais avec le livebox y a un petit soucci :
connecte toi avec le cable, va dans l'interface d'administration de la livebox pour changer la sécurité du cryptage wifi qui est par defaut sur "wep/wpa" (c'est a cause de cela que cela deconne), et change le pour soit du "wep", soit du "wpa"
tu as un tuto en image ici pour faire la manipulation (regarde vers le milieu de la page):

merci de ta réponse. Je suis allé voir dans la livebox: Je suis en WPA seulement, donc à priori c'est pas ça.
par contre, en essayant de configurer le réseau avec N-M, apparemment il me manque le "BSSID" Par contre j'ai fini par trouver l'adresse MAC mais pas le fameux "ID client DHCP"
Voilà. J'ai encore fait une mise à jour en filaire ce soir.

le pc a-t-il déjà été associé avec la livebox ? si non, faut appuyer sur le bouton "association"
fait comme si tu voulait te connecter en wifi , et donne le retour des commandes suivantes :

Bonjour; Désolé de la réponse tardive, mais je suis dans le Sud-Ouest, où la tempête nous a coupé du monde pendant 4 jours...tout refonctionne depuis hier soir.
Alors j'ai essayé en mettant la Live box en mode association avec le bouton. puis j'ai lancé le PC et tenté de le connecter au Wifi. rien...

pas grave pour le temps de réponse....
Ton wifi n'est pas associé comme le montre le retour du iwconfig....plusieurs pistes :
peut etre saisie tu mal la clef wep.
le filtrage des adresse mac est-il activé sur ta livebox, si oui, rajoute l'adresse mac de ta carte wifi (00:19:d2:24:27:4d)
Donne aussi le retour d'un
cat /etc/network/interfaces
Enfin a propos du bouton association : attention lorsque tu appuis sur ce bouton tu a 5 ou 10 minutes (je sais plus) pour réussir l'association (le voyant du wifi clignote régulierement pendant ce laps de temps). Si l'association echoue, il faut réappuyer sur le bouton.

Alors j'ai vérifié et re-vérifié...je ne crois vraiment pas me tromper sur la clé WAP.

je ne suis pas un super spécialiste, mais j'ai eu également des problèmes pour activer la wifi, et en fait c'était le pilot qui ne fonctionnait pas correctement. J'avais une carte pcmcia D-Link AirPlus. Elle semblait fonctionner mais la connexion ne s'établissait pas... J'ai installer une autre carte (Broadcom en interne) et la tout à fonctionné tout de suite (L'autre carte fonctionnait sous windows xp). Alors c'est peut être une piste?
Bon courage en tout cas, et si le wifi ne marche pas, il reste le cpl .

as-tu le dépot intrepid-backport d'activé et donc la derniere version du module iwl3945 ? si non :
(Système→Administration→Sources de logiciels) à la case à cocher Mises à jour non prises en charge (intrepid-backports) dans l'onglet Mises à jour. puis force les mise à jour (synaptic > "Tout mettre a jour)
Si oui, heu... esssaye de te connecter à ta livebox en désactivant le cryptage (juste le temps de faire un test pour voir si ton wifi sur ubuntu est ok)

bonsoir. mises à jour avec les backports effectuée. installation de ces mises à jour. redémarage....idem. le réseau est vu par NM, me demande la clé wpa 2 ou 3 fois et finit par échouer. je vais tenter d'enlever la sécurité wifi, mais j'avais déjà tenté sans succès.
Au fait, dans NM--> modification des connexions, je n'ai toujours rien en face de BSSID et de adresse MAC

essai sans cryptage : rien à faire. je commence à désespérer d'y arriver un jour. pourquoi ce PC se connecte-t-il parfaitement en wifi sous XP et ne veut rien savoir sous ubuntu?

essaye de faire cela :
Ouvrir un terminal et tape :
sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/iwl3945
ajoute au fichier (qui est vide)
alias wlan0 iwl3945
options iwl3945 disable_hw_scan=1
reboot et re test si t'as du wifi ou pas...

Annule la précedente manipulation et tente un
sudo modprobe -r rfkill
re test si echec a nouveau, tente :
sudo modprobe -r iwl3945
sudo modprobe iwl3945
et re re test :-)

bonsoir.
A la commande
sudo modprobe -r rfkill
la réponse fut cinglante :

pour la commande
sudo modprobe -r iwl3945
la réponse tout aussi acceuillante fut :
FATAL : Module_not found
enfin pas de réponse à la dernière commande.
j'ai bien entendu retester....ben ça marche pas.
enfin le lien que tu me donne, ça me renvoie vers le chagement des modules backports, que j'ai déjà fait...et de plus mon bouton fonctionne.
je vais refaire une mise à jour en filaire

mise à jour en filaire faite. j'ai bien vérifié, j'ai coché dans sources de logiciels, les modules non pris en charge(intrepid backports). J'ai aussi vérifié l'activité de mon bouton wifi, il fonctionne bien.

peut tu entrer cette commande pour etre sur que tu as les dernier pilotes (avec une connexion filaire) :
sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-intrepid linux-backports-modules-intrepid-generic
reboot, et re-test ton wifi

J'admire ta patience et je t'en remercie...
Pour la commande que tu m'a demandé, c'est fait. quand je l'ai vu "travailler" dans le terminal(charger, installer...) j'y ai cru....mais au reboot, idem : après 2 ou 3 tentatives de se conecter à la livebox en me demandant la clé, il finit par échouer.
Arf, coriace ...

Faudrait voir si d'autres avec des Packard Bell ont réussi à se connecter en wifi sous UBUNTU. Un copain prof de math me dit que ces PC Packard Bell sont "tatoués", ce qui pose des problèmes quand ont sort des configurations d'origine...enfin, c'est en gros ce que j'ai cu comprendre

peut tu (le temps de faire un test) désactiver le cryptage du wifi de ta livebox (ne pas oublier d'enregistrer les modif et de redemarrer la livebox). re test pour voir ? si cela marche, cela vient du cryptage (certainement de la facon dont il est entré dans Network manager (Ascii / hexa, avec des caracteres indésirable...)
Autre piste (ca m'etonnerais car intel fait du pilote libre, mais bon) : regarde si as tout hasard tu n'aurais pas quelque chose dans le menu système > Administration > Pilotes de périphériques ?
si tu y vois une carte wifi intel : vérifie que l'utilisation du pilote est bien activé ?
Enfin le tatouage (qui est pour rappel dans 99,9% des cas, le fait que le constructeur du pc as ecrit quelques octects dans le secteur d'amorcage du disque dur) n'as rien a voir la dedans.

J'ai désactivé le cryptage, validé puis attendu comme indiqué dans les instructions de la box. Tentative avec wifi sous ubuntu : NM me demande la clé...curieux.
je reboote le PC fixe auquel la box est reliée, je retente le wifi et là NM ne me demande enfin plus de clé....mais ne se connecte pas quand même.
A noter que depuis le début, quand je fais afficher la clé dans la fenêtre de requête de NM... et ben la clé n'a rien à voir avec celle que j'ai pu rentrer. Je n'y avais pas trop prêté attention.
mais bon, même sans cryptage ça cafouille.

voilà je vois juste ci dessus une adresse 00:16:cf:8c:40:bb ben je sais déjà que c'est pas celle de ma carte wifi du PC portable, par contre j'ai trouvé cette adresse et apparemment c'est celle de la livebox ....mais avec des majuscules normalement.

disent que ton wifi veut s'associé avec ta livebox, mais ca échoue pas de réponse .... comme si ton wifi etait pas associé à ta livebox ???....heu t'as pensé à appuyer sur le bouton association de la livebox (faut le faire jusqu'au moment ou tu aura réussi une 1ere connexion apres, ton wifi sera associé automatiquement) ?
