Ben oui, j'ai déjà essayé plusieurs fois de mettre la live box en association, ça n'avait pas marché. je vais réessayer, ça mange pas de pain.

je viens d'essayer 3 fois de suite. la live box est bien en mode association(la diode wifi clignote), mais la connexion échoue syqtématiquement.
une histoire de fou ce truc.

Bonjour. Juste pour préciser que dans système > Administration > Pilotes de périphériques , il n'y a pas de ligne pour le pilote de la carte Wifi(rien sur intel)

Fait juste gaffe quand tu arrive ici
wget http://wireless.kernel.org/download/compat-wireless-2.6/compat-wireless-2.6.tar.bz2
cela ne devrait pas fonctionner (si j'ai bien compris, mon anglais est un peu rouilé), faut donc télécharger le fichier à la main ici (prend le "compat-wireless-2009-02-03.tar.bz2") :

Salut. Bon, ça se complique pour le néophyte que je suis.
Pour voir si j'ai bien compris.
Je boote en filaire, et dans le terminal, je tape :
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install build-essential
wget http://wireless.kernel.org/download/compat-wireless-2009-02-03/compat-wireless-2009-02-03.tar.bz2
pour la suite, décompression et installation, je suis le reste du post en adaptant le nom du compat-wireless à celui téléchargé?

oui, tu as touts compris sauf, que cette instruction ne devrait pas marcher :

pourquoi ? :
1 :car le nom du fichier change tous les jours : tu remarque que le nom du fichier est composé d'une date à la fin, or cette date change (aujourd'hui, il s'appele "xxxx-2009-02-04", demain "xxxxx-2009-02-05", etc etc)
2 : les responsables du site ont interdit le telechargement de ce fichier, justement pour éviter que les gens qui suivent un tuto pas à jour se plante à cause du nom qui change.
Donc, tu va directement ici :
http://wireless.kernel.org/download/compat-wireless-2.6/
tu telecharge l'archive du jour, et enfin, tu suis le reste de la procèdure en adaptant bien sur le nom du fichier qui change avec celui que tu aura quand tu le telechargera...

je me suis lancé. J'ai téléchargé le dossier, puis je l'ai placé dans mon dossier home\utilisateur.
La première commande a marché(je crois) car il a téléchargé des trucs
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install build-essential
ensuite pour la décompression j'ai tapé
tar jxvf compat-wireless-2009-02-04.tar.bz2
et là aussi il a bossé.
par contre je suis coincé quand je veux taper cette commande :
cd compat wireless-$(date -I)
j'ai essayé de mettre la date dans la parenthèse mais il répond que la commande est invalide ou un truc dans ce style...

j'ai mis la date juste derrière wireless puis tapé make, alors là c'est parti pour un sacré boulot.
puis j'ai fait sudo make install puis sudo make load.
j'ai tout fermé, débranché le cable réseau....plus de réseau wifi dans NM.
reboot....plus de wifi, bouton wifi éteint ét inactif, aucun réseau vu par NM
je crois que je n'ai plus qu'à tout désisntaller non?

J'ai tapé les commandes. OK pour les 2 premières, ça télécharge et ça décompresse

bon, plus de message d'erreur dans le terminal, mais au reboot, nada, rien.
Le bouton wifi est toujours éteint et inactif, pas de réseau wifi vu par NM.

ahhh c'est un portable, il n'y aurais pas une touche ou un bouton pour activer le wifi (a faire dès la mise sous tension du pc), sinon essaye cela aussi :
echo 1 | sudo tee /sys/devices/platform/asus-laptop/wlan
la led du wifi serait-elle allumée maintenand ?

en effet c'est un portable. le bouton wifi et le voyant étaient inactif depuis l'installation du "compat wireless". Avant ça marchait.
Depuis la dernière commande que tu m'a donné, le voyant s'est rallumé....mais NM ne voit toujours aucun réseau wifi, il ne voit que le filaire

j'ai rebooté pour voir, cable ethernet débranché : retour case départ, voyant wifi éteint, bouton inactif et pas de réseau vu par NM

dans le retour de ton dmesg, j'ai vu que tu avait un probleme (peut etre rien a voir avec ton souccis de wifi), mais bon on va corriger quand même. En fait ton driver wifi te bloque sur les canaux de la norme US, pour mettre la norme européenne. Edite le fichier /etc/modprobe.d/options avec cette commande :
sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/options
la tu rajoute :
options cfg80211 ieee80211_regdom=EU
Tu enregistre les modifications et tu ferme le fichier. reboot et re-test le wifi.
si le voyant est etteint, tu l'active avec :
echo 1 | sudo tee /sys/devices/platform/asus-laptop/wlan
Si cela marche toujours pas (grr) on va désinstaller les wirelle_compta :
met toi dans le répertoire "compat-wireless-xxxx" du repertoire ou tu les avait télécharger et entre un :
sudo make unistall
reboot et retest le wifi...si ca marche pas, tu peux me dire quel modèle d'asus tu as ?

j'ai désinstallé les compat wireless. Retour à la situation initiale : au boot, le voyant wifi est bien allumé, NM voit mon réseau, essaie de se connecter en me demandant la clé plusieurs fois mais échoue.
Un truc bizarre : je lui rentre la clé.....mais les fois suivantes, si je coche "afficher la clé", elle n'a plus rien à voir avec ce que j'avais rentré. SI j'efface et que je re-rentre la clé, ça change rien, il échoue. Y aurait-il un souci avec l'entrée de la clé WAP?
Enfin tu me demande quel modèle d'asus j'ai....euh, j'ai un Packard Bell easynote MX45. Enfin je crois, je n'ai plus la dénomination commerciale exacte en tête. écran 15 pouces avec Webcam, pavé numérique, DD 60 Go, intel core 2 duo t 2060...

autant pour moi pour le modèle, je repond aussi sur un autre post avec un portable asus, d'ou la confusion...
il est pas toujours évident de configurer le wpa, quand tu dit que "si tu coche la case "afficher la clef", elle n'as plus rien a voir", cela me fait penser à un pb de format de la clef (Hexa, Ascii, etc..) voit en esseyant un autre format...
Le wpa est pas toujours évident a faire fonctionner...mais avant d'envisager qu'il soit le coupable, faudrait faire un test pour etre sur : essaye de désactiver ton cryptage WPA (met aucun cryptage) et voit si tu peux te connecter
