E17 svn pour Ubuntu 9.10 (karmic) – Archives

Le précédent fil de discussion ayant atteint les 20 pages, il est temps de créer un nouveau sujet.
Toujours à propos de l'installation de Enlightenment 17 à partir du code source, mais recentré sur Ubuntu: Merci donc de réserver ce fil à cette seule distribution... Et de préférence à ma méthode !

Elles sont closes en ce qui me concerne. On peut les considérer comme des archives.

Ma méthode d'installation est toujours à la même adresse (voir la signature).

Comme depuis le tout début, cette méthode n'est en rien officielle et ne reflète que les choix personnels de son auteur, enrichis des retours des utilisateurs.

est-ce que tu saurais comment installer ecomorph pour e17 et si c'est viable ???? (sans passer par elive)

D'après ceux qui l'utilisent, ça semble plutôt stable mais je ne l'ai pas testé récemment.

Ecomorph reste un hack. Puisque passer par le svn permet d'actualiser son installation de E17 très régulièrement (tous les jours dans mon cas), je n'aimerais pas être contraint de rester à la traîne du développement juste pour pouvoir garder un ecomorph fonctionnel... En outre, je n'ai pas une machine puissante, donc je n'y vois aucun intérêt.

EDIT:
J'ai retrouvé une vidéo (screencast) de mon dernier test d'Ecomorph en mai 2008. C'est un vieux machin et tout n'était pas au point à l'époque.

Merci de ta réponse en fait c'était plutôt pour tester que pour blinguer et je ne savait pas que c'était incompatible avec e17 par le svn. C'est qui le gestionnaire de fichier dans e17 svn ?

Le gestionnaire de fichiers de E est Efm2, plus communément appelé EFM (Enlightenment File Manager). Il est intégré à E (le gestionnaire de fenêtres), contrairement à Entropy qui était une application à part.

En ce qui concerne Ecomorph, il semble qu'il soit surtout utilisé par ceux qui installent E17 par les dépôts de paquets binaires. C'est logique puisque, dans cette perspective, on se soucie guère des dernières nouveautés/améliorations en date et l'on se contente d'attendre la prochaine mise à jour automatique.

Il n'y a pas d' « incompatibilité » majeure entre Ecomorph et le svn car Ecomorph utilise une version hackée (patchée) de E en parallèle. Cependant, Ecomorph s'appuie aussi sur d'autres programmes qui eux suivent le cyle très rapide de développement de E17. Du jour au lendemain, Ecomorph peut donc cesser de fonctionner... D'où l'intérêt - dans ce cas -, de passer par les paquets binaires qui sont figés, tous ensemble, à un stade précis du développement de l'environnement.

J'ai apporté des changements dans les scripts de l'installation minimale. Pour éviter tout problème, vous devez d'abord désinstaller celle-ci avant de... réinstaller.

La désinstallation se fait avec le script habituel.

Autre chose:

J'ai mis en ligne la page de ma méthode pour Ubuntu karmic (voir signature). Il y a peu de changements par rapport à la méthode pour jaunty.

J'ai fait une nouvelle installation d'Ubuntu à partir du CD de l'alpha 3:

Aucun problème avec les scripts de ma méthode et le système de fichiers ext4 cool

Les news sur e.fr traitent de sujets généraux. Les posts ici sont directement liés à une méthode bien précise et à la distribution Ubuntu. Ils perdraient de leur cohérence transplantés ailleurs.

De plus, j'ai déjà exprimé ce que je pensais du site en question:

Donc merci pour ta proposition mais, non,  je n'ai pas envie qu'on « balance certains de mes posts ».

Il me semble que la priorité serait d'améliorer le wiki Ubuntu de Enlightenment... Ce serait bien plus utile pour la communauté !

Merci.

J'ai enlevé Mpdule depuis que Emphasis est passé dans OLD (ce dernier n'était plus maintenu et boguait...). Du coup, les paquets relatifs à mpd n'apparaissent plus non plus dans les dépendances de ma méthode.

Avec quoi utilises-tu Mpdule ? Je peux remettre ce module si ça vaut le coup...

Salut,

J'utilise mpd comme player et j'utilise mpdule pour avoir le titre en lecture qui s'affiche dans un rack.

C'était juste une remarque, je n'ai jamais utilisé emphasis, loin d'être complet. Je lui préfère sonata et mpc pour les raccourcis clavier.

Non ce n'est pas la peine de remettre mpd dans la méthode. Mais mpdule peut-être utile, il permet aussi de commander mpd à la souris.

j'avais fait l'installation par svn de e17, mais je n'arrivais pas à l'avoir dans les environnements de bureau disponibles dans gdm.
Et donc j'ai complêté le wiki et ajouté la traduction de ce que j'ai trouvé là :

euh....juste une petite question : je me suis rendu compte après coup que je n'avais pas un certain nombre de modules, et ait donc essayé de les compiler sans script.

Tu confonds tout, là...

Ma méthode est différente du script easy_e17 et les deux approches ne sont pas compatibles.
Je n'ai jamais utilisé easy_e17 et ne souhaite pas être associé à ce projet... Et encore moins au wiki sur Enlightenment !

Si tu veux ouvrir une discussion pour easy_e17 ne te prive pas, mais crée un nouveau sujet.

Si on lit bien c'est un problème de dépendances manquantes.

Pour easy-e17 j'ai jamais testé, mais par le script de pourunmondesansgourou cela ne devrait pas se produire.

As tu suivi toute la procédure?

1- La commande aptitude pour l'install des dépendances
2-  Le script de récupération
3- Le script d'install

Je viens de réinstaller l'environnement E17 sur deux machines différentes (AMD Athlon XP et Intel Core2 Duo - 32-bit): Tout compile et fonctionne parfaitement.
