PSC 950 scanner non reconnu

Bonjour.
Je travaille sous 10.10 avec des mises à jours régulières.
Mon Imprimante Scanner PSC950 de chez HP me pose un problème :
L'imprimante est bien reconnue et fonctionne parfaitement sous CUPS.
Par contre mon scanner n'est pas reconnu... Avez-vous une explication ?
J'ai testé en root, en user ... rien n'y fait, mon scanner reste invisible.
Pour info, je publie les résultats de certaines lignes de commandes qui me semblent importantes :

Le site de hewlett packard dit que cette imprimante (et son scanner) marche avec ubuntu jusqu'à 10.04.
As-tu installé hplip et hplip-gui ?
Avec hplip-gui, tu obtiens une interface qui cherche les imprimantes HP et permet de cliquer sur un bouton pour scanner

Merci gl38 pour ta réponse.
J'ai installé hplip et hplip Toolbox, est-ce cela dont tu me parles ?
Je ne trouve pas de hplip-gui, comment l'installer ?
J'ai par contre la commande en ligne hp-setup qui reconnait parfaitement mon matériel.
Ensuite, je peux imprimer mais pas scanner, bizarre non ?
Mon scanne n'est pas défectueux car depuis un systeme XP, je scanne parfaitement.

Sais-tu quelle est la différence entre 10.04 et 10.10 ? Qu'est ce qui pourrait gêner le scanner ? Est-ce la version de xsane ? la version des modules ? la version du noyau ?

S'il le faut, je vais réinstaller une 10.04 à la place, qu'en penses-tu ?

hp-toolbox et hplip-gui sont la même chose.
Si tu lances hp-toolbox, tu dois voir apparaître ton imprimante.
En cliquant dessus, est-ce que tu as un bouton scan ?

et sane-find-scanner donne quoi ?

Je crois que simple-scan remplace xsane dans la distribution 10.10.

Le même message apparaît en sudo.
Qu'est-ce que c'est ibus ? dbus ? Est-ce là le problème ?

Le seul périphérique détecté est le Fingerprint sur libusb 007:002
Je m'attendais à un PSC sur libusb 003:002 vu mon premier post avec lsusb.
Le Fingerprint gêne-t-il la détection du scanner ? Peut-être faudrait-il désactiver le Fingerprint ? Comment faire ?

Quand à simple-scan, l'interface s'ouvre bien mais dès que je demande un des menus, le message "No Scanners détected" apparaît en orange précédé d'un point d'exclamation.

Je vois bien que quelquechose ne tourne pas rond ( Fingerprint, dbus,ibus ...) mais je ne sais pas quoi faire...

L'imprimante est en 660 en /dev/bus/usb/003/004,
Le groupe qui a le droit d'agir est lp,il faudrait que tu t'y mettes ou que tu changes les droits en 666 par
sudo chmod 666 /dev/bus/usb/003/004
mais je ne suis pas sûr que cela ne change pas au prochain démarrage.
Pour changer la composition des groupes, il y a Système > Administration > Utilisateurs et groupes
et il faut s'authentifier avec son mot de passe pour avancer.

Je suis membre du groupe lp depuis le début :

cat /etc/group

Entre-temps, j'ai réinstallé le pilote HP et lancé hp-toolbox en utilisateur normal. J'ai alors obtenu l'interface dont tu parlais dans le premier post, avec le bouton scan visible... c'est un progrès mais lorsque je clique dessus, c'est simple-scan qui se lance avec toujours le même message d'erreur précédé d'un point d'exclamation. Dommage.

Je suis à la recherche d'une solution du côté de dbus ou ibus mais mes compétences s'arrêtent vite là ou les détails techniques deviennent gros !!
Peux-tu me renseigner là dessus ?
Je ne sais toujours pas par quel bout je dois prendre le problème, où est-ce que ça coince ?

Je croyais que ibus servait à écrire du chinois.

Pour essayer, j'ai demandé à un ami de me prêter son imprimante scanner HP OfficeJet 4500.
Je la branche en USB. Elle apparaît sur le bus 001 en Device 008.
Elle est reconnue par sane-find-scanner mais pas par scanimage....
Et elle n'est pas détectée par xsane ou simple-scan.
Cela peut aider à comprendre ce qui se passe non ?

Le site de hplip est en rade mais avec google on a accès aux pages en cache. Par exemple

Est-ce qyue tu as des messages d'erreur dans /var/log/syslog ?

L'option de scanimage est -L pas -l.
C'est bizarre que sane-find-scanner donne un résultat correct et que ça ne marche pas.
et avec sudo ?

sudo scanimage -L

Est-ce que les /dev/bus/usb/ ont les bons droits
Pour ma HP 2355,
j'ai par sane-find-scanner
found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [HP], product=0x4911 [PSC 2350 series]) at libusb:004:002

et pour ls -l /dev/bus/usb/004

Là, je n'y comprends plus rien :
sane-find-scanner trouve le Officejet 4500 mais xsane est incapable de l'utiliser
scanimage -L ne trouve rien.
Est-ce que les permissions sont bonnes sur le périphérique USB ?

je n'ai pas de hp mais une idée comme ça, lancer xsane ou simple-scan avec gksudo.

ps @toly70: pour plus de lisibilité, si tu pouvais mettre tes retours de code entre balise stp (plus d'info dans ma signature)

Je viens d'apprendre comment poster du code bash, ouahh, merci.
C'est promis, à partir de maintenant, je posterai de façon plus lisible.

2.
J'ai essayé gksudo mais rien n'y fait, j'ai le même message d'erreur.
A ce propos, dans gksudo, puisque je peux changer d'utilisateur, j'ai essayé un autre ( root, lp ...) et à chaque fois, le message :

gksudo
No protocol specified
(xsane:4394): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0

Est-ce normal ?

J'espère que quelqu'un trouvera solution à mon problème ...

Pour le cannot open display: :0.0, peut-être qu'un xhost + aiderait.

Demain, un ami me prêtera son imprimante scanner Epson, pour voir si le problème vient de HP ou du système.
Je vous tiendrai au courant.
