toujours des freeze....

Dapper 6.0.6
Toujours des freeze. J'ai installé les pilotes NVidia, suivi toutes les procédures et tout continue à se bloquer, très souvent, de façon complètement aléatoire. C'est vraiment très ennuyeux.
Ce que j'aimerais découvrir c'est quelles sont les causes possibles de ce genre d'incident. Cela me permettra peut-être de mieux sérier le problème.

Euh, c'est plus cool de mettre ce genre de chose entre des balises (code)(/code)
Sinon, malheureusement, il n'y a pas de message d'alerte qui pourrait donner une piste.
Comment se passe tes freezes (programmes utilisés, ...) ? Est-ce aléatoire ? C'est un plantage complet ou peux-tu redémarrer le serveur X ?
La swap ou la mémoire saturent-elles ?
Pourquoi penses-tu que l'install de tes drivers video améliore la situation ?
As-tu essayé un autre environnement que Gnome pour voir ?

J'ai un soucis similaire sous Gnome Compiz Gutsy et carte ATI. La fenêtre active se fige, passe en N&B, par contre j'ai toujours la main pour lancer une autre appli, un terminal par exemple. Ca dure qq secondes et tout redevient normal. C'est aléatoire. Mais ça rend le PC inutilisable... un "top" ne donne rien de significatif, si ce n'est une ligne ata/0 qui se crée à  ces moments là  avec peu de charge cpu et mémoire (moins de 15%).

J'ai bien un swap en /dev6

Une idée ?

Le problème du gars précédent c'est à  cause de don lecteur DVD DV-5700A de NEC qui bug avec HAL et qui fait tourner tout le système en freeze (le dernier firmware ne change rien). Rien à  voir avec la carte vidéo..

J'ai le même lecteur DVD et j'ai jamais trouvé de moyen de fixer.

Personnellement je n'ai plsu de freeze, je n'ai rien fait de particulier à part les MAJ et aussi changé mon TSST pour un LG, mais le probleme était résolu avant ce changement
