"réseau ubuntu" d'abord (LAN)

Bonjour à tous,
J'ai reçu un courrier de fullcirclemag. Voila ce que j'ai répondu. Qu'en pensez vous?

In fact, this is not a feature of windows I like to have, but a feature of macos 7, 8 (I know, it's old) concerning file/directory/disk sharing through a LAN. Long time ago in macos, to mount a distant disk, you clicked in in a small window to select a computer to mount it thus it was possible to copy/paste stuff in the computer of the office next door.
At home, I have to ubuntu computer linked to an internet box (one by wifi the other by ethernet). Why when I click in the menu shortcuts (raccourcis in french) then in network(Réseau), I don't "see" the other computer but an icon "windows network" (réseau windows). There should be a ubuntu network first, don't you agree? I do know that nfs exists, but it's just the plague to configure.

    Hi folks,

    Reader Duane Donovan has given me the idea of running a column/series which would be just for Windows users, or for those brand new to Ubuntu. It would take parts of Windows and explain it's *buntu equivalent. I'm going to try and show how things are done using Unity, Gnome, KDE, XFCE and LXDE for each item.

    For example, I could show the *buntu equivalent of:

        My Computer
        C:\ drive
        MY Documents/Videos/Pictures
        File Properties
        Move/Copy a file
        Waste/Trash can
        Basic commands (eg: dir = ls)

    Here's where you come in: what components of Windows would you like to see the *buntu equivalent of, and what would you call this new column/series?

Because accessor & mutator are against encapsulation (one of OOP principles), good OOP-programmers do not use them. Obviously, procedural-devs do not. In fact, only ugly-devs are still using them.

ce(tte) rédacteur(trice) de fullcircle mag, veut faire une rubrique équivalence windows/ubuntu et cherche des idées.

Je faisais remarquer qu'il manque un truc simple qui existait déjà il y a fort longtemps, sous MacOS 7 certes, concernant le partage réseau. Si on as plusieurs ordi derrière une box, quand on va dans le menu Raccourcis>Réseau, on accède à une icone réseau windows (c'est déjà bizarre étant sous ubuntu) et quand on double clique sur l'icone, la liste des ordi connectés à la box n'apparait pas. Cette fonction existait déjà sous MacOS il y a plus de quinze ans...
