Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
Alors voilà: j'ai une carte ATI 9700 Mobility, le driver Radeon ne permet pas la 3D pour cette carte, je dois donc passer par le fglrx. Mais impossible d'avoir l'accélération matérielle: fglrxinfo me donne:
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
display: :0.0 screen: 0

ça fonctionnait sous Dapper avec le même xorg.conf... Que faut-il faire?

Etrange, j'ai Edgy installé avec cette carte, et je n'ai rien touché au xorg.conf, et j'ai la 3D !
en revanche, lorsque j'ai essayé d'installer fglrx j'ai eu le même problème que toi !
mais si tu arrives à faire fonctionner le driver libre, c'est bon.

Normal, le driver proprio ne gère pas AIGLX et il faut le désactiver dans ton Xorg.conf en rajoutant les lignes suivantes à la fin:

Problème résolu?
Chez moi, il a fallu que je lance cette commande en plus, pour qu'il trouve son petit DRI:
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/dri /usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri

Salut Yannp, tu pourrais peut être mettre en ligne ton xorg.conf pour qu'on voit comment c'est paramétrer ça nous donnera peut être des idées.
Je précise que j'ai exactement le même problème que toi Dom et je bataille depuis deux semaines pour avoir enfin le fglrx et pas ce p***** de Mesa !

Ah c'est un peu inutile puisque je n'y ai rien touché à ce xorg.conf, mais bon ce soir j'ai accès à mon portable, je récupère le xorg.conf et je le poste ici, si ça peut aider.
n'empêche qu'avec une installation de Edgy fraiche, tu peux installer Beryl et tout fonctionne immédiatement.

Pour moi cette option fonctionne très bien
- installation des paquets xorg-driver-fglrx et fglrx-control
- replacement vesa par fglrx dans /etc/X11/xorg.conf
- ajout de
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "disable"
EndSection
dans le /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Et ça fonctionne

j'ai installé les drivers proprio, et j'ai été confronté au même pb que cité dans le titre de la rubrique
j'ai appliqué la méthode de Cakeman, à savoir :

un petit CTRL - ALT - BKSP, et ct tout bon

merci ç'a ma permi de corriger mon probleme de dual screen (probleme de souris )
