Résolution 1920*1200 - Dell 2407WFP - intel GMA950
Bonjour à tous,
J'ai un soucis concernant la résolution d'un écran Dell 2407WFP, je n'arrive pas à obtenir une résolution supérieure à 1600*1200, avec comme carte graphique un chipset intel GMA950. J'ai installé 915resolution comme je l'avais vu conseillé dans d'autres posts, j'ai modifié le xorg.conf en rajoutant la résolution souhaitée et les données constructeur de rafraichissement vertical et horrizontal, mais je n'obtiens toujours pas la résolution 1920*1200. Est-ce que quelqu'un aurait une idée ? Merci

Hélas, non, j'ai toujours pas trouvé... j'ai l'impression que la solution est dans le xorg.conf en rajoutant une option "force bios" mais je sais pas trop de quelle manière.
Si je trouve la solution, je le posterai. Désolé…

Bon, ce problème n'a pas l'air de passionner les foules…
En cherchant une fois de plus, je suis tombé sur ça :
X drives the display to 1600x1200 by default.
To get the 1920x1200 you must install the 915resolution package.
Then do: echo "RESOLUTION="3c 1920 1200"" >> /etc/sysconfig/915resolutionsur cette page : http://www.tummy.com/journals/entries/k … 307_150711
Mais c'est pas très clair pour moi, quelle syntaxe adopter, dans quelle mesure ça va pas planter le serveur graphique…

Essayez aussi de remplacer
Driver "i810"par
Driver "intel"après avoir installé
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intelA+

Quelle version d'Ubuntu utilises-tu ?
Que donne un "lspci" ?
[EDIT] Colles le contenu de
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.logen balises "code".

bonjour, je viens de jeter un oeil sur votre problème
915resolution a un fonctionnement legerement différent sur debian/ubuntu que ce que vous avez vu là.
vous pouvez vous referer à "man 915resolution" qui vous indique d'aller voir le mode d'emploi situé là :
gedit /usr/share/doc/915resolution/README.Debiance mode d'emploi vous dit que le mode à utiliser est spécifié dans /etc/default/915resolution :
sudo gedit /etc/default/915resolutionje pense que dans ce fichier, vous devriez modifier pour avoir :
MODE=3c
...
XRESO=1920
YRESO=1200
...
BIT=24
puis enregistrez, quittez, et faites :
sudo /etc/init.d/915resolution stop
sudo /etc/init.d/915resolution startpuis allez modifier dans le xorg.conf pour avoir cette resolution (je suppose que vous savez faire)
puis enregistrez, quittez, fermez tous les programmes, deconectez vous et faites Ctrl+Alt+<- pour faire redémarrer le serveur X
normalement la resolution voulue devrait vous être accessible
note : je dis ca d'après la doc, mais je ne l'ai jamais fait donc je ne sais pas si ca marche ...
J'ai cependant bon espoir ... 
edit : vous pouvez essayer de voir si d'autres personnes ont déjà réalisé cette manip ...
Pour ma part, je vais voir si il y a d'autres facons plus aisées d'appréhender ce problème
edit2 : un petit lien vallant mieux que de longs discours, je vous engage à lire le mode d'emploi écrit par le créateur de cet utilitaire
edit3 : 32 remplacé par 24 parce qu'avec ubuntu on fonctionne avec 24bits je crois 
edit4 : si vous avez une version de ubuntu anterieure a edgy (je pense a dapper par exemple), c'est un peu plus compliqué, mais je ne peux pas vous aider beaucoup non plus car je suis arrivé à linux et ubuntu plus recement encore ...

avez vous bien modifié le xorg.conf ? (je vous indique les modifications au cas ou vous auriez pu commettre une erreur)
1. modifiez le fichier de conf de 915resolution (vous l'avez deja fait normalement)

BIT=242. verifiez que c'est bien pris en compte
sudo 915resolution -l | grep 5cnormalement ce qui apparait est :

La modification a bien été prise en compte :
Mode 5c : 1920x1200, 24 bits/pixel
J'ai essayé le 5a qui correspondait à la plus haute résolution que j'obtenait (1600X1200 à 60hz), et maintenant je me retrouve avec 1280X1024 à 75hz maximum. J'ai remis le mode 5c mais je reste toujours avec 1280X768...
Sachant que je n'ai pas changé le xorg.conf car il y avait bien la résolution 1920X1200 souhaitée. Bref, j'y perds mon latin qui n'était déjà pas brillant.

J'ai mis dans le xorg.conf les données de rafraichissement qu'ils mettent pour le seul mode 1920X1200 :

Ce qui m'étonne, c'est qu'avec la multiplication de ce genre d'écrans, il n'y ait pas plus de gens qui aient eu ce genre de problème...

donc je pense que le problème vient d'un dysfonctionnement de 915resolution qui dit qu'il permet cette résolution (sudo 915resolution -l) mais qu'en fait non ...

Hello, I also have had this problem since 6.04, I also had to "hack" it with 915resolution, and it works on my current 6.10, I downloaded excited the 7.04 hoping this issue was going to be fixed. but With no success, the 7.04 DO NOT works with my Intel 845gm and widescreen monitor 17in. I also had many problems since the botting process, I had to put break=bottom on the command line from the boot CD, then erase the xorg.conf, re-run the gdm-reconfigure choosing a VESA, then downloading the 915resolution, change the xorg.conf with the force bios option, and then voila. it works, but I agree with everybody here, it should "just work". Thank you anyway for your work ubuntu team.
Avec une installation "fraiche" d'Ubuntu 7.04.
1/ supprimer xorg.conf
2/ relancer gdm-reconfigure en choisissant vesa (comme pilote graphique)
3/ installer i915resolution
4/ modifier xorg.conf avec l'option force bios
A tenter !

Salut, merci pour ces réponses,
Avec une installation "fraiche" d'Ubuntu 7.04
J'hésite à réinstaller car ça a été un peu galère, je suis en dualboot sur un macmini (j'avais suivi ce tuto http://market.inattendu.org/article.php3?id_article=44).
1/ supprimer xorg.conf
2/ relancer gdm-reconfigure en choisissant vesa (comme pilote graphique)
3/ installer i915resolution
4/ modifier xorg.conf avec l'option force bios
Alors j'ai essayé sans réinstallation, ça a produit un écran strillé avec image déphasée, j'ai donc remis l'ancien xorg.conf
Je vais regarder du côté de i810 modesetting driver...
En tout cas, ces manips m'auront un peu décomplexé question lignes de commande

je ressort ce post: j'ai le même problème. avez-vous avancé dans la recherche de solution ?
il m'arrive d'avoir la résolution 1920x1200, mais elle s'applique au bureau et non pas à l'affichage: c'est-à-dire que le bureau est étendu en dehors des limites de l'écran, mais ne modifie pas la taille des icônes et des polices...

Ouah ! C'est encore autre chose... pouvez-vous préciser votre matériel et comment vous en êtes arrivé à cet affichage ? Personnellement, je n'ai pas avancé sur la question, j'espère que les prochaines mises à jour prendront en compte ce problème.

oui c'est autre chose...
j'ai un shuttle avec chipset intel 945G + CG Intel GMA950 aussi...
la différence c'est que j'étais sous SimpleMepis (basée sur Kubuntu 6.06); 915resolution était installé par défaut. dans la liste déroulante des résolutions proposées, il y avait bien 1920x1200, mais comme je le disais, par rapport à la résolution 1600x1200, l'affichage déborde de l'écran à droite et à gauche, et on s'y balade à l'aide de la souris...
j'ai réinstallé Ubuntu Feisty + le paquet 915resolution, et effectivement, cette résolution n'est pas proposée dans la liste déroulante. même en modifiant le xorg.cong, en ajoutant les modelines, etc... pourtant elle apparait bien qd on fait" 915resolution -l".
ma fois... j'vais devoir acheter une carte craphique, et ça me fait chxxx.

Ayé ! ça marche !
dans Synaptic, j'ai installé le driver "xserver-xorg-video-intel", qui supprime automatiquement "xserver-xorg-video-i810", et j'ai supprimé également "915resolution".
puis en éditant /etc/X11/xorg.cong, j'ai remplacé "i810" par "intel" dans la section "Device".
après un redémarrage, j'ai enfin eu la résolution 1920x1200 dans la liste déroulante de "Système > Préférences > Résolution de l'écran"
j'ai juste le bord supérieur droit des fenètres et du bureau qui bave ou zigzague un peu, ce qui est bizarre, mais c'est déjà très très bien!
