Windows XP imbootable

Bonsoir smile

J'ai installé ubuntu edgy eft après avoir installé windows xp, et à la fin de l'installation de celui-ci, je ne peux plus booter windows.

Voici le contenu de mon menu.lst

Voici ce que renvoie fdisk -l

Les entrées de la table de partitions ne sont pas dans l'ordre du disque

Lorsque je selectionne windows xp au boot j'ai :

Error 12: Invalid Device Requested (hd0,4)

Je précise que ma partition windows est bien /dev/sda5 car ubuntu a réussi à la monter sans problème, et je peux y accéder.

Je pense plutôt que XP est dans sda4 (et donc hd0,3) car sda5 coorespond à sda2 qui est une partition étendue ... et XP ne démarre que sur une primaire !
Essaie avec 3 au lieu de 4 dans root        (hd0,4) :

root        (hd0,3)
savedefault
makeactive
chainloader +1

Je viens d'essayer avec (hd0,3) et là j'ai :

This is not a bootable disk, please insert a bootable floppy,...

Il faut aussi que la partition XP soit "bootable" : le caractère "*" est devant sda1 et non sda4 dans ton fdisk -l. Mets sda4 bootable via gparted.
[Edit] tu as un "trou" entre 127 et 275 dans ton disque ...

Salut

Pour installer Ubuntu, tu as du faire de la place soit avec Gparted, soit en auto avec le livecd et tu as modifié l'organisation de tes partition en créant une partition étendue (sda2) et en créant un lecteur logique à l'intérieur (sda5).
Le pb c'est qu'il est impossible à Xp de démarrer sur un lecteur logique.

Ce qu'il faudrait faire :
Transformer la partition étendue sda2 en partition primaire. Je ne sais pas si gparted sait faire çà. Partition Magic le fait.

Après il n'est pas sûr qu'Xp fonctionne comme il faut. Il faut vérifier dans le boot.ini quelle est la partition initiale d'Xp et modifier pour prendre en compte la deuxième (/dev/sda2)
Dans le menu.lst il faudrait aussi modifier :
boot    (hd0,4)  par
boot    (hd0,1)

PS penser aussi à mettre bootable /dev/sda2 et non /dev/sda1 comme indiqué dans le post ci-dessus
