vlc est bavard, pour peu que, dans ses préférences, tu règles la verbosité à 1 (voire 2, mais commence à 1). Lance une lecture de flux et fait Ctrl M.
Quand le son cessera tu feras un copier-coller de la liste de messages, et tu la mets ici.

Vlc a dans ses préférences une option qui dit en substance : laisser tomber des paquets quand le tampon sature.
Vérifie qu'elle n'est pas décochée.
ps : chez moi (vieille version), j'ai préférences / vidéo / sauter des images

Contacté téléphoniquement, Logitech affirme que les HP ne sont pas compatibles Linux.
Me reste à trouver des HP compatibles...

Il me fait rire le gars de chez logitech, si j'ose dire. S'ils n'étaient pas compatibles, ils n'auraient pas fonctionné avant la mise à jour, non?
Pourquoi n'essayes-tu pas d'abord une réinstallation bien propre, avec le cd de RR sans formater ton home?

Et si ça se trouve, c'est peut--être un problème de surchauffe. Essaye de passer un coup de bombe à air sec dans les ouïes de ventilation
