ATI/AMD Evergreen / Radeon HD : 3D saccadée

Bonjour

Je tente de jouer en ligne au jeu Left 4 Dead 2 (Steam) mais la 3D est saccadée au point de le rendre injouable.

J'utilise Ubuntu 13.04 et ma carte graphique est un ATI/AMD Evergreen :

Merci fnc50 de prendre du temps pour m'apporter ton aide.

J'ai donc lu les deux sujets.

J'ai commencé par les commandes sudo apt-get remove fglrx* et sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf afin d'être certain que le PC est "propre". Suite au redémarrage du PC, j'ai donc suivi les informations contenues sur le sujet Catalyst (http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/catalyst#installation).

Le point 2.2 avec la commande sudo apt-get install fglrx n'a pas apporté de changements. Je précise que je n'ai pas eu le message "Unsupported hardware" et me suis donc arrêté là.
Le fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf n'existe pas. J'ai donc lancé la commande sudo aticonfig --initial -f.
Là j'ai eu donc le fichier xorg.conf ainsi qu'un fichier xorg.conf.origine-0.
Mais, donc, pas de changements dans la jouabilité comme je le disais.

Après sudo apt-get remove fglrx* et sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf, je suis passé au point 2.4. J'ai extrait le fichier dans le dossier ~/Téléchargements/AMD/amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13-4-x86.x86_64.run
J'ai modifié les permissions pour le rendre exécutable.
Cependant la commande sudo sh -c ~/Téléchargements/AMD/amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13-4-x86.x86_64.run ne fonctionne pas. L'auto-complétition avec la touche de tabulation ne fonctionne pas.

Dans la mesure où rien ne s'est passé, je n'ai pas eu besoin des commandes sudo apt-get remove fglrx* et sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf pour passer au point 2.5.

sudo apt-get install dkms debhelper dh-modaliases execstack build-essential
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs
sudo sh ./amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13-4-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg 

A ce stade, j'ai eu une fenêtre d'installation, j'ai laissé les choix par défaut et à la fin le PC a redémarré.
Résultat : pas de changements.
Je n'ai pas eu besoin de la commande sudo dpkg -i *.deb Mais je l'ai utilisé après ce test : pas de .deb à dépaqueter.
La commande sudo /usr/bin/aticonfig --initial renvoie : command not found.

Mais de toute façon, sans répercussion sur le rendu du jeu. Je profite pour préciser que les vidéos de youtube sont lues et lisibles et que le chargement de Firfefox dure environs 20 secondes (celui de Logiciels & mises à jour, 30 secondes).

Deux programmes AMD Catalyst Control Center sont présents. Celui pour administrateur me demande mon mot de passe root mais se ferme aussi tôt. L'autre, j'ai modifié options d'affichage > sans déchirement et coché "Activez le bureau sans déchirement pour réduire le déchirement" avec les points 2.2 et 2.5.

Pour terminer; se trouve dans /etc/X11 :

Je me suis probablement planté quelque part, mais où ? Ou alors il s'agit d'une autre procédure ?

Ça semble installé. Donne le retour de fgl_glxgears, laisse tourner quelques secondes et donne le résultat. Tu peux aussi supprimer:

Ça semble parfait. Pour Catalyst control center (CCC) en administrateur, tape gksudo amdcccle et regarde si il se ferme toujours. Pour tes problèmes de jeu, je ne pratique pas mais cela pourrait venir de compiz. Essaye de le désactiver avant de jouer pour voir si ça s'améliore. Poste aussi le contenu des fichiers: /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Concernant désactiver Compiz... Je n'ai pas trouvé...
Dans Unity, il n'y a pas Système-->Préférences-->Apparences-->Effets visuels
Du moins dans Paramètres système-->Apparences je n'y ai rien vue
J'ai installé Unity Tweak Tool et Gestionnaire de Configuration CompizConfig. Je n'ai vraiment rien vue permettant de désactiver Compiz. J'ai lu sur un site qu'à l'écran de loggin, on pouvait choisir un bureau 2D. Je n'ai pas vue où...

En aparté, j'ai vérifié le cache de Steam : sans changement.

gksudo amdcccle ouvre effectivement Catalyst Control Center (la case "Activez le bureau sans déchirement pour réduire le déchirement" était cochée).

En fait, je crois que Unity ne fonctionne pas sans compiz, du moins pour la 3D... Sinon, Xorg.0.log est ok. Je ne crois pas que l'UEFI est en rapport avec ça, c'est à l'installation de l'os que c'est déterminant. Tu as quelle version de buntu?

P.S. Je viens de trouver cela, regarde "Resolved issues". Il semble que le 13.8 beta résolve des corruptions de ton jeu:

Par contre l'archive .zip du pilote est vide! Quels abrutis chez AMD!!!

Et j'imagine que je refais la procédure d'installation telle que décrite précédemment mais avec ce nouveau pilote ?

La patience est la mère de toutes les vertus... Lors du téléchargement l'archive .zip contiendra quelque chose et pas 0 octet. Tu ne devras pas installer toutes les semaines, uniquement lors de correctifs important pour toi inclus dans un nouveau pilote.

Pour la procédure d'installation, il faudra uniquement virer l'ancien et sauvegarder ton xorg.conf puis rebooter, donner les permissions au fichier .run extrait et faire:

sudo sh ./amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13-8-x86.x86_64.run --buildandinstallpkg

C'est exact, Windows 7 édition familiale. Mais la personne chez qui j'ai récupéré le PC a perdu le CD d'installation (ce qui n'est pas important puisque le PC est prévu pour Ubuntu uniquement).
C'est juste que j'ai eu la surprise de l'UEFI impliquant l'installation d'une version "spéciale" (je n'ai pas voulu le remplacer par un bios classique). en l’occurrence j'ai installé Linux Secure 64bits.

Pas de souci...

Pour l'UEFI, une vraie plaie à se jeter par fenêtre! Catalyst est encore en beta 2 et le stable a 3 mois, il est urgent d'attendre! Si le reste fonctionne, soit patient car le Vsync (entre autre) est foireux sur ce beta.

C'est ce que j'ai lu à droite-à-gauche mais, semble-t-il, moins casse-gueule que de le supprimer et d'installer un bios : je n'ai pas voulu prendre ce risque (et puis il y a un doute sur le fait que l'UEFI ne devienne pas le prochain "bios").
il sera toujours temps de le faire.

Il n'y a pas d'urgence puisque je dispose d'un autre PC (Debian Wheezy), c'est juste un petit plus par rapport à ce PC et puis il y a longtemps que je voulais retester la distrib Ubuntu.
Je vais donc rester en veille pour la bêta 3 et reposterai pour donner des nouvelles.
