Pas d'affichage étendu sur ATI RADEON 9600 (Secondary)


Problème:

Je n'arrive pas à  étendre mon bureau sur mon deuxième écran, ils affichent simplement la même chose, peu importe le driver utilisé.
Essayé avec: ati, fglrx, ati radeon et propriétaire
Actuel: ati


System kernel: 2.6.20-16-generic
Ubuntu 7.04 - 7.10 KDE & Gnome
Compiz Fusion et Emerald installés (fonctionne parfaitement sous gnome feisty)

Non 1 seul device, 1 seul screen, telles sont les règles du bureau étendu ATI.

J'ai essayé avec les paramètres suggérés. (légèrement ajustés selon mes croyances de moment)
Sans succès, fglrx ne semble pas vouloir tourner rond.
Au redémarrage du serveur x, je remarque tout de même qu' une tentative est entreprise (mes deux écrans n'affichent pas le même background) pour un court instant pour finir avec le résultat de départ.

Si ça peut t'aider, avec cette carte sous gutsy je m'en suis sorti avec les commandes Xrandr:
en ajoutant dans le xorg.conf dans le screen : Virtual        2560 1024
et dans un terminal: xrandr --output VGA-0 --right-of VGA-1

Puis-je jetter un oeuil sur ton xorg.conf? roll

pour identifier les sorties faire dans un terminal: xrandr -q
et les remplacer dans la commande : xrandr --output xxxx --right-of xxxx
sinon faire xrandr man

Bonjour Gégé,

Merci encore pour ta réponse qui m'aura inspiré lors de la résolution temporairement relative du problème.
J'en suis à  présent à  ce stade:

Pas réussi à  faire tourner fglrx. Gutsy planté lors de la Maj du networkmanager.

Penché sur Feisty avec un premier résultat:

ça marche ! ! !

enfin presque...

Cela fonctionne seulement lors de la connection avant de valider mon mdp.
La souris passe d'un écran à  l'autre et le deuxième écran affiche seulement la couleur de fond et pas l'invite login présente sur l'écran 0.
Je fouille un peu les docs et me ferai un plaisir de pouvoir t'annoncer la résolution finale sur l'une de mes deux versions.

D'après ce que j'ai compris le xorg est modifié à  chaque démarrage sous Gutsy.
la modif que j'ai indiquée plus haut: dans le xorg.conf dans le screen :
Virtual        2560 1024,
est quand même pris en compte.
A noter que:
- s'il tu changes de pilote de carte graphique (fglrx) il faut redémarrer le pc, un redémarrage de X par Ctrl+Alt+Back space, ne convient pas.
-apparemment les effets visuels et Compiz-Fusion, ne fonctionnent pas avec le bureau étendu, ou fonctionnent pour Compiz-Fusion avec une réduction de résolution.
Si tu utilises Feisty tu peux essayer le xorg que j'utilisais sous cette version mais il est inutile de l'installer sous Gutsy.

Bonsoir Gégé,

Enfin, j'y suis arrivé sous Feisty; et ce, tout simplement en ajoutant ce qui manquait (Option "xinerama") et en mettant de l'ordre dans mon xorg. (section "module" au dessus de Section "ServerLayout")

Merci beaucoup pour ton aide et celle de Romu.

Maintenant je m'attaque à   Gutsy sous lequel,

Salut CThierry,

Voici quelques pistes:

-Vérifier que les pilotes propriétaires sont bien désactivés.
-Vérifier qu'il n'y a aucun effet visuel. Système > préférences > Apparence
-Installer le pilote ati-ATI Mach 8, Mach 32, Mach 64 and range XL
-redémarrer le pc
-modifier le xorg (Virtual        2560 1024) et appliquer les commandes Xrandr comme évoqué plus haut.

En lisant les tutos, je me suis dit que p-ê qu'avec les pilotes ATI et tout le tralala...

Là , je ne sais pas.
J'ai eu aussi des problèmes de chargement du driver ati.
Autant que je m'en souvienne, je m'en suis sorti en supprimant tous les fichiers xorg et en redémarrant.
Un fichier xorg est à  nouveau créé. Mais je ne te garantis rien hmm

Pas d'inquiétude de ce cà´té, j'ai toujours mon xorg.backup pas loin.

Mon pb avance qlq peu...

Lorsque j'entre "xrandr --output VGA-0 --right-of DVI-0"... mon desktop prend bien la dim 2048x768 mais de manière identique sur les 2 écrans, donc non étendu via DVI-0.

qd je lance la commande fglrxinfo voilà  ce que ça me retourne:
Le programme 'fglrxinfo' n'est pas installé actuellement.  Vous pouvez l'installer en tapant :
sudo apt-get install xorg-driver-fglrx
bash: fglrxinfo : commande introuvable

donc pas installé chez moi.

Bonsoir Gégé,

Merci pour ton aide, et celle de Romu.
Mes problèmes de double affichage sont résolus depuis l'installation (MaJ) de la version 8.04 Beta...

J'y ai simplement ajouté la commande:

xrandr --output DVI-0 --left-of VGA-0

au démarrage et le tour étais joué.

Compiz Fusion tourne sans problèmes, mis à part le crash systématique de Glx, mais bon, je ne vais pas me plaindre... 2 cubes pour le prix d'un!

J'en profite pleinement à présent. cool

A tous encore merci de votre précieuse aide qui m'a permis de découvrir les joies de Linux.
