[Résolu] install dual-boot depuis Windows 8 préinstallé
Tout n'est pas dans le titre. Le propos, c'est d'utiliser une partition du disque dur comme support d’installation au lieu d'utiliser un support externe (liveDVD ou liveUSB). A quoi ça sert ? A rien merci, c'est juste un exercice. En effet, la meilleure solution pour installer Ubuntu, c'est la liveUSB à mon avis.
Je fais la manip en virtualisation avec VMware Player parce que je ne dispose pas d'un ordi équipé du système UEFI.
Conditions pour faire ce que je décris ci-après (pour ceux qui seraient tentés de réaliser la chose) :
- Windows 8 préinstallé parce qu'ainsi on est sûr qu'il s'agit d'une installation en mode EFI sur le disque dur partitionné en GPT (ça ne s'applique pas pour une installation en mode non-EFI)
- être un peu au courant de ce que c'est que l'UEFI et ses différences par rapport au BIOS (utile pour comprendre un peu les actions que je détaille dans la partie "PARAMÉTRAGE DU SYSTÈME UEFI")
PROCÉDURE DÉTAILLÉE :
A faire depuis Windows 8 :
Dans la vue ci-dessus, l'exemple est fait en virtualisation donc les tailles de partition sont réduites et ne correspondent pas à ce que je propose dans ce qui suit. C'est le principe que je veux montrer.
- diminution de la taille du disque C: (le plus possible mais ne pas descendre en dessous de 100 Go pour ne pas se retrouver ensuite trop à l'étroit sous Windows)
- Dans la place libérée :
- création optionnelle (mais tellement intelligente) d'une partition de stockage en NTFS (Label : DATA) pour recevoir les documents et autres données encombrantes (en final, elle sera accessible en lecture/écriture depuis chacun des OS Windows 8 ou Ubuntu )
- création d'une partition au format FAT32 de 1 Go (Label : INSTALLER) qui servira à stocker le logiciel d'installation de Ubuntu (cette partition peut se trouver n'importe où sur le disque dur. Moi, je la place en fin de disque)
- on laisse une zone libre non alouée (donc non partitionnée) destinée à recevoir ultérieurement la racine de Ubuntu (20 Go nominal) et la swap (taille = un peu plus que la RAM)
- Téléchargement du fichier ISO de Ubuntu version Desktop 64 bits (ubuntu-13.10-desktop-amd64.iso)
- Téléchargement et installation de 7-Zip
- Avec 7-Zip, extraire le fichier ISO de Ubuntu version Desktop 64 bits directement dans la partition FAT32 label INSTALLER
PARAMÉTRAGE DU SYSTÈME UEFI :
Redémarrer l'ordi et aller dans le Système UEFI. Sélectionner l'option "Boot from a file" dans le Boot Maintenance Manager.
Dans la liste qui apparait, il faudra sélectionner l'entrée qui contient "INSTALLER" :
et indiquer le chemin vers le fichier grubx64.efi qui se trouve dans EFI > BOOT > grubx64.efi
ça se fait comme ça en pratique (on descend progessivement dans l'arborescence en validant à chaque niveau) :

Et là, l'ordi est en mesure de démarrer en session live sur la partition "Installer" si on sélectionne "Try Ubuntu without installing" :
A partir de la session live, si tout baigne et qu'on a l'accès internet pour faire les mises à jour pendant l'installation (c'est mieux), on peut installer Ubuntu dans la zone laissée non-allouée.
Un message inquiétant apparaît : You will not be able to create, delete, or resize partitions on this disk, but you be able to install to existing partitions there. En gros, l'installateur se fâche parce qu'on n'a pas le droit de chier sur la branche de l'arbre sur lequel on est assis. Là on se dit : c'est ballot, il va falloir arrêter l'installation pour faire les partitions à l'avance :
Ben non, au bout de quelques secondes, l'installateur laisse apparaître la fenêtre de partitionnement :
Il n'y a plus qu'à faire le partitionnement manuel. Dans la manip que je fais ici pour l'exemple, je crée dans l'espace libre une partition racine de 20 Go et une partition swap de ce qui reste de place :
Tout semble parfait, il n'y a plus qu'à cliquer sur Installer maintenant et l'installation proprement dite se réalise.
APRÈS INSTALLATION :
Au redémarrage, le boot se fait automatiquement sur le menu Grub. On peut constater au passage que l'installateur a bien fait le turbin et qu'il a créé une entrée pour Windows 8 dans le menu :
Si on sélectionne Ubuntu, on peut visualiser le partitionnement avec l'utilitaire de disques :

Si on redémarre et qu'on sélectionne Windows dans le menu Grub (choix "Windows Boot Manager (UEFI on /dev/sda2)" dans l'exemple), c'est bien Windows 8 qui démarre (ouf!) et pour comparer avec la vue du début du post, voila ce que dit la "Gestion des disques" de Windows 8 (Windows ne sait pas identifier - personne ne lui a appris - le format des deux partitions créées pour Ubuntu. Il sait seulement dire qu'elles sont "saines". C'est déjà pas mal...) :

Après installation, on peut laisser en place la partition support d'installation (à laquelle j'ai donné le label "INSTALLER" dans la manip). En cas de plantage du Ubuntu installé, on pourra utiliser cette partition en y accédant comme j'ai détaillé au paragraphe "PARAMÉTRAGE DU SYSTÈME UEFI" par l'option "Boot from a file" du Boot Maintenance Manager. Et réaliser des opérations qu'on fait d'habitude depuis une session liveDVD ou liveUSB pour réparer le Ubuntu malade.

Es-tu sûr que le bootmenu reconnait une Iso brute ? D'ailleurs, comment reconnait-il une partition bootable ?
Parce-que si ton idée fonctionne...
1/ C'est nettement mieux qu'une clé USB pour installer, Stabilité et rapidité.
2/ Voila une partition partition "Recovery" ubuntu . il suffit de mettre à jour de version l'iso,
3/ On peut alors créer cela avec n'importe quel iso. Par exemple une distribution dont l'utilisation a plus d’intérêt en live...
4/ Se rendre sur le net depuis le live ne laisse aucune trace.
J'ai fini la configuration de mon PC, je dois le livrer pour noël. Je ne pense pas avoir le temps d'essayer. Et pourtant, je pense que cela en vaut la peine. Je vais voir...

Après ton message, j'ai encore complété mon premier message (j'avais noté que le post était en construction).

En l’occurrence, le Boot menu ne reconnaît rien du tout : si tu prends le temps de comprendre ce que j'explique dans la partie "PARAMÉTRAGE DU SYSTÈME UEFI", tu verras qu'il est nécessaire de montrer le chemin au système UEFI pour lui dire où se trouve le fichier .efi qu'on souhaite utiliser. Le seul automatisme que l'UEFI met à disposition, c'est la présentation des partitions susceptibles de contenir éventuellement un fichier .efi (ce sont les partitions FAT) comme j'ai montré dans le post (ici). Mais si on ne connaît pas le principe de UEFI, on se trouve comme une poule devant un couteau quand on voit ça. Heureusement, j'ai utilisé un label (INSTALLER) pour la partition support d'installation, ce qui permet de l'identifier et de la sélectionner mais sinon il faut reconnaître que c'est glauque. Et cette partition INSTALLER n'est pas une partition bootable : la partition bootable, c'est la partition EFI (elle apparaît en haut de liste dans cette vue sous "NO VOLUME LABEL"). Je confirme qu'il n'est pas nécessaire qu'un fichier .efi se trouve sur une partition bootable pour qu'il soit utilisable par le système UEFI. J'en ai déjà fait l'expérience bien des fois et je remets ça en pratique ici.
Je l'ai écrit dès l'intro de mon post #1 et j'aurais dû le remettre en conclusion mais la meilleure solution à tout point de vue, c'est la liveUSB. Je veux bien admettre que d'avoir une partition INSTALLER comme je le propose, ça peut dépanner si on n'a pas de liveUSB sous la main mais si tu compares la procédure d'install avec une liveUSB avec la procédure longue et inhabituelle que j'ai décrite ici, avec des passages secrets dans les catacombes à la bougie (je fais allusion à l'option "Boot from a file" de l'UEFI), il n'y a pas photo.
