données accessibles ou pas par windows aprée installation d'ubuntu 13.
bonjour,
Je possede un pc packard bell imedia 6476(pc tatoué) avec windows xp pack 2 avec 3.5 go de ram avec un processeur amd athlon 64 3400+..
j'ai 2 disques durs : le 1er (C 200go ) contient windows
Le 2eme (G 500 go) qui contient des dossiers ntfs accessibles par windows est prévu pour l'installation d'ubuntu.(60 go).
Je ne veux pas utiliser de double amorçage.Je veux conserver windows et me familiariser avec ubuntu et acceder à l'un ou à l'autre en modifiant le boot dans le bios.
Ma question est la suivante:Si grub est installé sur dev/sdb les données actuelles seront elles toujours accessibles par windows?
Sinon peut-on installer grub sur une partition de sdb? et est-ce que ça résoudra mon problème.?

Motif : je ne crois pas que tu aies deux disques durs (mais seulement deux partitions d'un seul disque dur physique), c'est pourquoi je te demande un Boot-Info pour savoir ce qu'il en est.

j'ai bien 2 disques durs physiques: le 1er 200 go le 2eme ajouté :500 go.pour simplifier je n'ai pas mentionner 1er disque dur 3 partitions dont une pour windows 2eme disque dur 1 partition .: c'est la que je veux installer ubuntu.Dans une documentation ubuntu sur le partitionnement il est dit concernant l'emplacement de grub:ne choisissez pas une partitition dev:sda1 par exemple(pour moi çe serait dev/sdb1) mais choisissez le disque dans lequel est installé ubuntu'(pour moi dev/:sdb). c'est seulement si vous etes expert et que vous savez ce que vous faites que vous pouvez choisir une partition.

Déjà, un bon coup sur mon bec parce que tu as bien deux disques durs physiques.
On voit que tu as une zone non allouée après la partition sdb1 et que c'est là que tu veux installer Ubuntu. Si tu fais le choix "Autre chose" à l'étape 3 de l'installation pour maitriser ton destin et ne pas faire confiance à l'installation automatique, tu n'auras pas d'ennui. Tu créeras une partition racine et une partition swap (*) dans la zone non allouée du disque sdb et tu veilleras bien à sélectionner /dev/sdb dans le champ chargeur d'amorçage (en bas sur cette vue) de sorte que le chargeur d’amorçage de Grub soit bien installé dans le MBR du disque dur sdb.
A l'issue de cette installation, tu auras bien accès depuis Windows à la partition sdb1 (disque G: selon Windows XP) comme actuellement. La présence de Ubuntu et de Grub n'aura aucun impact sur le fonctionnement de XP.
(*) pas besoin de créer une partition étendue. Tu as seulement à créer une partition primaire pour la racine et une partition primaire pour la swap.
