Dual Boot Windows 8.1 Ubuntu 14.04
NOTE: ceci a résolu mon problème
Pour avoir le choix du boot (sous un Acer tout du moins) il faut appuyer sur F12 au démarrage du PC.Si la touche F12 ne fonctionne pas allez dans le BIOS d'Acer puis dans l'onglet Main , il doit y avoir
F12 Boot Menu: [Disabled]
Il suffit de le mettre en Enabled et BOOM au démarrage on appuie sur F12 et on obtient les différents boot possibles.

Comme vous vous en doutez j'ai un "tout petit" problème.
Mon environnement:
Je souhaite installer en dual boot sur mon PC Acer Aspire V3- 772G, qui tourne sous Windows 8.1, Ubuntu 14.04.
J'essaye de l'installer sur le deuxième disque dur interne (D:\ soit sdb sous linux) de mon PC de 1To, et j'en suis au point suivant:
J'ai partitionner une première fois mon disque dur via l'application Windows laissant 200Go pour Ubuntu.
Et la répartition de l'espace précédent pour Ubuntu est le suivant:
18Go de SWAP (on disait un petit peu plus que la RAM
1Go pour le boot "/boot" formaté en Ext 4
Le reste pour le root "/" en Ext 4
Je ne me suis pas vraiment penchez sur la question de la version, j'ai juste bien fait attention que Ubuntu soit en version 64bits.
Le problème: impossible d'avoir le Dual Boot au démarrage, sauf avec EasyBDC qui me propose bien de lancer soit Windows 8.1 soit Ubuntu 14.04 mais qui m'insulte et me troll lorsque je clique sur Ubuntu en me disant "Windows n'a pas pu démarrer" -_-'
L'historique de mes manipulations:
J'ai suivi les tutos suivants:
Cohabitation Windows / Ubuntu en faisant bien attention au fait que j''étais sous Windows 8
j'ai bien fait sauté toutes les sécurité sous Windows 8: hibernation, fast boot et secure boot
Ubuntu en UEFI
Le live USB est bien en mode EFI.
Maintenant j'en suis à la:
Quand je branche ma clé Live USB et seulement quand je branche ma Live USB j'ai les choix suivants:
Essayer Ubuntu sans Installer
Installer Ubuntu
OEM Install (for manufacturers)
Check disc for defects
Quand j'appuie sur "Echap" et que je tape exit dans l'invit de commande GRUB j'arrive dans Boot Manager et le PC me propose:
USB FDD: Verbatim (ma Live USB)
Windows Boot Manager
ubuntu
HDD2, par ailleurs les deux choix Ubuntu et HDD2 m'amène sur la liste suivante:
Ubuntu -> qui démarre sur ma session Ubuntu
Advanced options for Ubuntu
Windows Boot Manager (on /dev/sda2) -> direstion Windows
System setup -> direction le BIOS
Et lorsque rien n'est branché (cf la partie "Le problème").
J'ai fait tourné Boot Repair sur la session live d'Ubuntu et j'ai juste obtenu l'URL suivante
Voilà vous savez tous. Du coup y a-t-il moyen d'avoir un dual boot qui fonctionne au démarrage du PC?

bah heu ... on est bien d'accord que tes 2 OS on chacun leur disque dur ?
et puisque de toutes évidence les 2 marchent je vois pas ou est le problème
à part le fait que tu ne sembles pas savoir comment :
- soit forcer le disque dur linux à etre en tête de boot
- soit accéder au menu de boot rapide du bios
en tous cas toujours est il qu'en l'état personne ne pourra te dire grand chose de plus
puisque là c'est la documentation du pc voir de la carte mère qu'il va te falloir lire
désolé de ne pas pouvoir t'aider plus mais nous manquons d'éléments
"GNU/Linux c'est que du bon mais M$ Windows ce n'est pas si mal"

Pourquoi avoir créé cette partition? Elle existe déjà (sda2).
sda a une table de partition en GPT et sdb a une table de partition en MS-DOS. Peut-être que ce n'est pas l'idéal.
OS: Ubuntu 22.04 64 bits + Windows 11 64 bits en dualboot (BIOS UEFI, Secure Boot activé et table de partitions GPT)

perso je pense qu'on s'en fou par contre ta remarque /boot n'est pas bonne ...
il a la possibilité d'isoler chaque OS sur un disque dur différent donc autant qu'il en profite :
c'est la meilleur configuration multiboot qui soit finalement d'avoir qu'un seul OS par disque ...
non moi je pense vraiment que son problème c'est qu'il maitrise pas son bios/uefi

C'est pas faut ^^'
En fait la question est plus pourquoi j'ai besoin de la clé usb pour booter sous linux, je préfère ne pas avoir à l'utiliser.

Possible que tu ais raison. Personnellement, j'aurais utilisé une table de partition en GPT pour les deux disques.
par contre ta remarque /boot n'est pas bonne ...
il a la possibilité d'isoler chaque OS sur un disque dur différent donc autant qu'il en profite :
c'est la meilleur configuration multiboot qui soit finalement d'avoir qu'un seul OS par disque ...
Un O.S. par disque est en effet une excellente solution.
Mais je me demande s'il n'y a pas un michmach entre le BIOS en mode EFI, les tables de partition différentes et les deux partitions de boot.
Au sujet des partitions de boot, compare sda2 et sdb6 puis dis-nous ce que tu en penses.

En fait sous Acer tout du moins pour l'Aspire V3 772G (à vérifier si c'est pour toutes les version Aspire VX)
Lorsqu'on arrive sous le BIOS d'Acer on va dans l'onglet Main et il doit y avoir

Wai c'est bien ce que je disais ... .. mais bon pour aller plus loin ça n'empêche pas que tant qu'à faire
Autant mettre le disque dur linux en prioritaire puisque lui est capable de rebasculer vers windows

Je pense comme Korak qu'il aurait mieux valu faire un partitionnement GPT. De plus, il aurait fallu déconnecter le disque Windows pour faire une installation autonome sur le disque Ubuntu alors que là, tous les chargeurs d'amorçage sont dans le même panier : la partition EFI du disque Windows. On n'a pas l'indépendance des deux disques durs.

Ce qui veut dire que le "mélange" de table de partition GPT et MS-DOS sur deux disques-dur n'intervient pas? Ou que ça peut avoir un effet indésiré?

Au sujet des partitions de boot, compare sda2 et sdb6 puis dis-nous ce que tu en penses.

à sa charge de vérifier : après on est pas à l'abris que ce soit l'uefi qui ait fait la synchro étant donné que dans certain cas l'UEFI ressemble vraiment à un bootloader à part entière
mais bon ça n'empeche pas que je doute que le grub arrive à démarrer si sda n'est plus présent ... enfin bon faut voir mais finalement à la limite on s'en fiche un peu
le principal c'est que d'une part le dualboot marche et d'autre part que ce soit bien ubuntu qui démarre en premier
