(résolu) Installation Ubuntu sur portable 2 Disques : 1 SSD + 1 SATA

Bonsoir,

Je suis en train de faire l'acquisition d'un PC portable MSI GS60 2PC-247XFR Ghost avec un disque SSD 128 Go et un disque SATA 1To 7200 RPM....celui-ci ayant comme os FreeDos, je compte installer seulement Ubuntu 14.04 .

J'aimerai qu 'Ubuntu et les principales applications soient installés sur le disque SSD, mes fichiers perso et les applications annexes sur le disque SATA, quant à mes nombreux films , photos et musiques je compte les sauvegarder sur un disque dur externe 2To Toshiba StorE BASICS 2.5" USB 3.0 ! J' en viens à ma question de néophite ayant toujours eu jusqu'à présent des pc windows :

Quelles sont les étapes à respecter et les manip à effectuer pour que ces fichiers et applications soient installés ou sauvegarder au départ et à l'avenir sur des supports physiques déterminés comme décrits ci-dessus ?

Pendant que j'y suis... le portable sera équipé entre autres d'une carte graphique MSI GS60 2PC-247XFR Ghost et d'un souris laser ASUS GX850 usb avec plusieurs boutons paramétrables...aurais-je des soucis pour en installer les pilotes propriétaires ?

J" ai hésité à mettre ce post dans la rubrique matériel, mais comme il s'agit d'une première installation d'Ubuntu je me dis qu'il a sa place dans cette rubrique ...

Comme je disais sur ce futur PC , c'est FreeDos qui est préinstallé et non pas Windows 8...donc à priori pas de Bios UEFI...quant à ton lien que j'ai bien parcouru, il ne répond pas vraiment à ma question (je ne veux pas de DualBoot et surtout ne veux plus de windows !!) qui est de savoir comment configurer Ubuntu et ses diverses applications pour que déjà les fichiers systèmes se retrouvent sur le disque SSD interne (que je veux principal), mes fichiers perso sur le DD SATA interne et tous mes fichiers multimédias sur le disque externe usb ?

Ubuntu occupe moins de 6 Go donc je pense que tu peux te permettre d'installer toutes tes applications sur le SSD... en outre elles se lanceront bien plus vite !

Perso ce que je faisais ( mais c'était un PC fixe donc sans doute plus facile ) -> je débranchais tout simplement le ou les disques HDD avant de faire l'installation sur le SSD. Ça fonctionne très bien, il suffit ensuite de les rebrancher une fois que l'installation est finie et ils apparaissent alors dans le dash en tant que disques additionnelles.

Mais je pense qu'il est tout à fait possible de faire l'installation sur un seule disque dur bien sur... ( c'est plus une précaution que je prenais pour ne pas effacer les données contenues sur ces disques en fait )

la Partition racine de Ubuntu (format EXT4) sur le SSD interne de 128 Go
Sur le disque dur interne de 1 To :
- la Partition de données personnelles (dite couramment "partition home") en format EXT4
- la partition swap

Bonsoir, je viens moi aussi d'opter pour un MSI.
Le bios est EFI mais cela ce paramètre, par défaut rien n'est activé comme il y a FREEDOS.
Il y a une chose à verifier dans le bios dans l'option boot, tu dois avoir "legacy", dans l'ordre du boot tu mets HDD " même si c'est le Disque dur qui s'affiche ", un peu plus bas dans cette même fenêtre tu as une option HDD BBS ( je dois rebooter mon pc pour confirmer ) qui t'ouvre un sous menu, là tu mets le DD sur "disable", quand tu reviens sur la page d'avant tu verra le SSD dans la sequence de boot.
A savoir si tu ne connais pas linux, tes disques ne s'appellerons pas c:\ ni d:\ mais ce sera sda, sdb, sdc ,..., dans l'ordre du bus
Sur mon MSI, le DD est sda et le ssd sdb.

Installe Ubuntu sur une clé USB avec le logiciel Lili ou équivalent ( télécharge une ISO 64bits de la version de Ubuntu que tu souhaite au préalable )

Mets la clé usb dans le nouveau PC et au logo MSI de démarrage ( très rapide ) appuies sur F11 et choisi ta clé USB, un menu va apparaitre, choisi d'abord "mode" live, on va préparé le disque dur.
Va dans le menu des applications, systeme et lance gparted ou suivant ta version de Ubuntu, trouve gparted.
En haut à droite tu as un bouton pour choisir le disque avec sa taille, choisi le SSD, ensuite tu clique sur Périphérique, créer une table de partition, tu choisi MS-DOS. Ensuite tu selectionnes l'espace libre, clic droit "new" partition primaire, linux EXT4 ou mieux btrfs (spécial SSD), pas de label tu fais ok et tu appliques les opérations, ensuite tu clic droit sur la partition, gérer les drapeaux (manage flags) et tu coches "boot".

Pour le DD tu le sélectionne ( bouton en haut à droite ), tu crée une table de partition MS-DOS comme pour le SSD, on va faire 3 partitions, 1 les dossiers persos, 2 les fichiers temporaires, 3 la partition d'echange (le swap ). Taille du swap = taille mémoire physique , taille TMP moi j'ai mis 11 Go, taille dossiers perso = taille du disque - ( swap + tmp )
une fois que tu as fait tes calculs tu crées une partition primaire linux EXT4 , taille dossier perso, label HOME pour le reconnaitre après.
La partie qui reste, tu crées une partition étendue.
Dans la partition étendue tu crée un volume logique EXT4, taille Temporaire , label TMP pour le reconnaitre après.
Dans la partition étendue il doit te resté la place "taille du swap" tu crée un volume logique Linux-swap, taille ce qui reste ( ~ taille mémoire ), pas de label
Tu appliques les modifs. OUF

Tu redémarre le PC de la même manière, au menu à la place de mode live tu fais installer, là ça ce complique, il va te proposer installer Ubuntu sur ....
Tu choisi l'option "faire autre chose "

Là il t'affiche quelque chose de similaire à gparted.
Si tu as vu dans gparted tu as du voir sda1 sda2 .... sdb1 : sdX correspond au disque sdaN correspond au numéro de la partition
sur le SSD ( sdb1 si comme moi ) tu lui indique comme point de montage " / " ( oui un slash tout simple c'est ce que l'on appel la racine )
sur le disque dur en sda1 (normalement) ( c'est la que tu vas te retrouvés car on a mi le LABEL "HOME") tu mets " /home " en point de montage.
sur sda2 ( la partition étendue normalement ), tu ne peux rien faire
sur sda(?) qui à le Label " TMP " tu mets " /tmp " en point de montage
à la fin il te reste le swap, tu lui indique le swap.

juste en bas à droite il y a un bouton " installer GRUB sur : " tu lui indique le ssd /sdb sans le 1, il s'en débrouillera tout seul.
Voilà plus qu'à installer, ton SSD ne sera pas solicité par les écriture intempestives.

une derniere chose il faudra editer le fichier /etc/fstab dans une console

sudo nano /etc/fstab

UUID=d08abf0f-5002-4986-862a-c49ea6fa79e5 /               ext4    errors=remount-ro 0       1

rajoute noatime en option une virgule entre les options pas d'espace :

UUID=d08abf0f-5002-4986-862a-c49ea6fa79e5 /               ext4    errors=remount-ro,noatime 0       1

enregistre ( CTRL+X) repondre oui et redémarrer

Et bien bienvenu à toi dans la communautée.

Petite précision sur gparted, quand tu défini la taille des partitions, choisi aligné au cylindre c'est plus propre.
Je viens de m'apercevoir de ma gaffe sur mon systeme, c'est pas terrible quand tu fais cohabiter 2 OS.

Dans mon bios il y a bien une option pour les HDD en plus comme indiqué plus haut, je ne pense pas que les bios des GP et des GS diffèrent de beaucoup.
En tout cas je suis très heureux de mon nouveau PC

Petit rectificatif sur le partitionnement.
Si tu n'installe que Linux sur ton nouveau PC, fais l'installation directement en UEFI. Pour cela il faut afficher le BIOS par la touche " suppr "
Dans l'onglet boot passer " Legacy " en " UEFI " rebooter.
Retourner dans le bios et definir le boot séquence, en 1 " USB : UEFI .........."
Si tu fais ton installe en UEFI plus besoin de créer des partitions logiques, tout passe en primaire.

A propos de Gparted, lors que je préparais mes partitions avec, je me suis rendu compte due l'installeur de ubuntu m'avertissait que les partitions étaient mal faites. Donc à l'installe pour faire les partitions comme je te l'ai indiqué, au moment où il te demande quoi faire pour installer Ubuntu, tu met " autre chose " et tu crées tes partition en GPT ou MBR à ce moment là.

Je t'ai indiqué le btrfs pour la partition du SSD. J'ai essayé aujourd'hui et cela n'a pas marché, Grub à refusé de s'installer. Donc Ext4 ( à moins que ça passe en UEFI mais je peux pas le dire vu que je suis en legacy à cause de win7 )

Voila j'ai depuis quelques jours mon superbe portable MSI dont je suis très content....
J'ai suivi tes indications à la lettre nihilman, résultat : le partitionnement et l'installation d'ubuntu se sont passés sans difficulté !!
Un grand merci ! Je me familiarise maintenant avec ce nouvel environnement avec plaisir, seul regret : ne pas pouvoir avoir de lanceur spécifique pour chacun des quatre espaces de travail ...à moins que je n'eusse pas encore découvert une subtilité du paramétrage ?
J'essaye également d'installer mycinema pour classer ma vidéothèque : j'ai placé sa version linux dans le dossier des films et essaye de le lancer avec java mais cela ne fonctionne pas....peut être connais tu ce programme et pourrais tu m'apporter tes lumières sur la meilleure façon pour le rendre opérationnel ? Quel version de java pour linux, comment débloquer les autorisations pour que Ubuntu accepte de lancer myCinema avec java, vaut-il mieux utiliser la version windows et passer par wine ?
En attendant que tu ais le temps de me répondre, passe de très bonnes fêtes de fin d'année !

Petit complément :
Ayant installé OpenJDK Java 7 Runtime, quand je lance la commande ci-dessous dans le terminal :

java -jar /media/horizon34/SAMSUNG/CINEMA/myCinema_v1.11.1.jar

le logo de myCinema apparait au centre du bureau mais rien ne se passe de plus (ni la décompression du dossier , ni le lancement de l'application...).... que faire de plus pour que cela fonctionne ??

Par contre, je souhaiterais ajouter ton modèle(*) dans la Liste des portables « MSI » : pour que ça serve d'exemple d'installation, je te prie de faire un Boot-Info depuis une session de ton Ubuntu installé et d'indiquer l'URL du Boot-Info dans ta réponse.

(*) as-tu bien reçu finalement exactement le modèle MSI GS60 2PC-247XFR Ghost que tu as mentionné dans le post #1 ou bien c'est un autre modèle ?

Oui mon nouveau portable est bien celui annoncé en début de post : MSI GS60 2PC-028XFR Ghost
Ubuntu (en installation unique) démarre très rapidement et fonctionne bien....je dis cela car Boot Info me dit que j'aurai du faire une partition de boot en plus....bon.. vu que cela fonctionne fluide je n'ai pas bien envie de retoucher au partitionnement !

J'ai un p'tit probleme par contre avec la connexion wifi : il a du mal à capter les réseaux environnants alors que celui de ma chérie bien moins performant mais sous windows 8 capte parfaitement à coté du mien, c'est un peu vexant lol !
Voici les caractéristiques wifi annoncés par MSI :

Ton installation sur le SSD n'est pas correcte : il faudrait que tu refasses la table de partition de ton SSD pour qu'elle soit du type MSDOS (au lieu du type GPT) et que tu réinstalles Ubuntu dedans, toujours en mode non-EFI. Je suis désolé de ne pas avoir pensé à te donner des directives à ce sujet dans ma proposition du post #5.

Ou alors, tu peux rester avec le type GPT pour le SSD mais il va falloir que tu crées une partition EFI sur le SSD et que tu fasses l'installation en mode EFI comme expliqué là : Installer Ubuntu en mode EFI
Si tu adoptes cette solution (installation en mode EFI), il y a deux partitions seulement à créer sur le SSD : la partition EFI et la partition racine.

Pour le wifi c'est juste le pilote Ubuntu de la carte wifi qui est moins performant que celui de Windows, rien d'extraordinaire...

C'est exactement la même chose sur mes 2 PC portables en dual-boot

Bonsoir nihilman....... comme tu as aussi un MSI, peut être as tu fait des mises à jour de pilotes pour ubuntu , je pense en particulier à celui de la carte wifi Intel, j'aimerai également trouver comment désactiver le rétroéclairage du clavier quand je suis en mode "batterie" ... si tu as fait certaines manip après l'installation d'ubuntu pour ton msi, je suis preneur en infos...

En attendant mes meilleurs voeux pour cette nouvelle année à toi et à tous ceux qui ont eu la gentillesse de m'apporter leurs connaissances pour parfaire mes premiers pas sous Linux !!

J 'avais lu dans un post sur le forum concernant le problème de lenteur de réception wifi au delà de 8 m de la box sous ubuntu, qu'en installant ce nouveau noyau : celui-ci améliorait la réception de la carte wifi....
Effectivement cette mise à jour semble avoir amélioré la réception wifi sachant que mon portable est souvent à une quinzaine de mètres de la neufbox !
