Windows 8 perdu, démarrage difficile et des erreurs
Bonjour,
J'ai acheté un ordinateur neuf que j'ai reçu ce matin, acer ES1-512-C8XK.
J'ai fait plusieurs tentative pour installer ubuntu 14.04 LTS à l'aide d'une partition pour conserver windows 8 et d'une clef USB avec ubuntu dessus.
Ubuntu ne détectait pas que windows 8 etait déjà installer sur l'ordinateur.
Après plusieurs essais, j'ai réussi mais windows 8 a été écrasé et ubuntu démarre difficilement. Il faut parfois 2 ou 3 tentatives.
De plus, la luminosité n'est pas réglable (malgré plusieurs discussions sur ce forum que j'ai suivi), mon pavé tactile ne prend pas en compte les défilements...
J'aurai aimé conserver windows 8 et un ubuntu en dual boot.
Puis je revenir en arrière et corriger mes bêtises ?

Depuis une session de ton Ubuntu installé, je te prie de faire un Boot-Info : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/boot-info
Le tuto propose de faire cela depuis une session live (ordi démarré sur un LiveDVD ou une LiveUSB) mais c'est mieux de le faire depuis une session du Ubuntu installé à mon avis. Ne fais pas la réparation recommandée : contente-toi de faire le Boot-Info. Tu posteras l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse.
EDIT : pour ta perte de Windows 8, je pense que tu as été victime du Bug #126519 (une discussion sur le sujet ici)

J'ai regardé sur la discussion de l'autre forum pour windows 8 et effectivement c'est similaire sauf que j'aimerai bien réinstaller en dual boot W8 car je peux en avoir besoin de temps en temps, surtout que mon ordi est neuf alors si je dois l'envoyer en garantie un jour...
Je vais essayer de voir sur le site du fabricant si une solution est possible.

A mon avis, il faudrait réinstaller Windows 8.1 tout seul, en écrasant tout ce qu'il y a actuellement. Moi je ne sais pas t'aider à faire ça : si tu n'as pas ce qu'il faut pour le faire (si tu n'as pas créé d'image disque ou si tu n'as pas créé de support de réinstallation en config "usine" de ton Windows 8.1), adresse-toi à ton vendeur de l'ordi pour qu'il te fournisse - ce ne sera pas gratuit - un support de réinstallation de Windows 8.1 ou demande de l'aide sur un forum Windows. Quand tu auras réinstallé Windows 8.1, je te conseille de suivre le tuto du site "Libre à Quimperlé" pour installer Ubuntu 14.04.1 64 bits(*) en dual-boot avec Windows 8.1.
(*) peut-être serait-il préférable d'installer la dernière version Ubuntu 14.10 64bits compte-tenu que ton ordi est très récent. Tu peux faire un essai comparatif en session live (essayer sans installer) des deux versions (14.04.1 et 14.10) pour voir si la 14.10 gère mieux ton ordi et si c'est la cas, tu installes directement la version 14.10.

J'ai réussi à installer un windows 7 intégrale proprement (on a mis 8h pour trouver et installer tous les pilotes...)
Merci pour votre lien, je vais vraiment faire attention au moment de l'installation cette fois-ci.

Avant d'installer Ubuntu, vérifie si ton Windows 7 est installé en mode EFI ou en mode Bios (non-EFI) en suivant les indications de ce paragraphe de la doc : 2.1 Cas où il faut installer Ubuntu en mode EFI
S'il apparaît que ton Windows 7 est installé en mode EFI, il faudra installer Ubuntu également en mode EFI, s'il apparaît que Win7 est installé en mode non-EFI, il faudra installer Ubuntu également en mode non-EFI.

D'accord, j'ai fait comme indiqué sur votre lien et windows 7 est installé en mode non-EFI
Lorsque vous dites que je dois installer Ubuntu en mode non-EFI, qu'entendez vous par là ?
Lorsque je lancerai le programme d'installation d'Ubuntu, est ce qu'il détectera automatiquement qu'un système d'exploitation existe déjà et si ce n'est pas le cas, que dois-je faire ?

Je veux dire qu'au démarrage de ton ordi sur le support live de Ubuntu, tu dois voir cet écran comme expliqué dans la doc : 2.5 Identifier si l'ordinateur démarre sur le CD (ou la live USB) en mode EFI

Si tu as bien démarré en mode non-EFI sur ton support live d'installation, ton installation existante de Windows 7 devra être détectée et tu auras la possibilité de faire une installation automatique de Ubuntu ("Installer Ubuntu à côté...") à l'étape 3 de l'installation (si une telle installation automatique t'intéresse mais ce n'est pas forcément ce qu'il y a de mieux à faire). Si ton Windows 7 n'était pas détecté, il faudrait absolument sélectionner "Autre chose".

Je viens de télécharger Ubuntu 14.10 comme vous me l'avez conseillé plus haut.
Lorsque je boot dessus (à l'aide d'un USB live), la flèche de la souris ne s'affiche pas à l'écran et même avec les touches du clavier je ne peux pas effectuer beaucoup d'action.

Si tu déconnectes la souris pour n'utiliser que le Touchpad, est-ce que tu as toujours le pb que le pointeur ne s'affiche pas à l'écran ?

Il n'y avait pas de souris connectée et j'utilisai uniquement le Touchpad.
J'ai installé Ubuntu 14.04 en dual boot avec windows mais j'ai toujours quelques soucis...
Sous Ubuntu, je ne peux pas régler la luminosité.
Descendre une page avec les flèches du clavier ou le TouchPad...

Pour la luminosité c'est comme la plupart des portables Baytrail, il faut placer ce fichier

dans /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d
et modifié grub avec backlight vendor comme indiqué ici
