Pas de Grub au démarrage d'ubuntu/il faut passer par le bios [RESOLU]

J'ai installé Ubuntu en mode Legacy avec l'aide des membres de ce forum et je trouve ça déjà très bien. Voir la discussion ici. Cependant je suis obligé de passer par le bios pour passer de Windows à Ubuntu et j'aimerais avoir accès à grub. Windows est en mode EFI. Y a-t-il une possibilité de passer Ubuntu en mode EFI. J'ai essayé Boot-repair mais ça s'est soldé par un échec. Je suis allé voir la documentation EFI et différents membres qui semblent avoir des difficultés ressemblantes. Mais je ne trouve pas de réponse appropriée où je ne suis pas assez éclairé pour comprendre la marche à suivre.

Si quelqu'un a une idée merci d'avance.

ubuntu a besoin de paquets propres a efi : grub-efi et cie

pour demarrer en session efi, utiliser un live cd ubuntu efi, et modifier les sources de facon a installer boot repair ...

Je suis déjà allé à ces deux pages mais quand je démarre à partir d'un live CD ou d'une clef usb en mode efi. J'ai la première image :

Et puis après écran noir, si j'essaie quoi que ce soit. Donc je ne peux pas démarrer de live session ubuntu en mode efi. J'ai désactivé le secure Boot et le Fast Boot. Rien y fait.

Salut wawananda,

De ce que j'ai compris de ta configuration, il est impossible de démarrer en mode uefi autrement que sous Windows, je me trompe peut-être, pour l'instant cela semble être le cas.

Su tu veux installer grub efi, tel que Ubuntu est actuellement configuré c'est très simple, Ubuntu démarré:

sudo apt-get install grub-efi
 sudo grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --uefi-directory=/boot/efi --no-bootsector --recheck --debug /dev/sda

Il restera tout de même à arriver à lancer ce grub efi à partir du menu de démarrage du pc, ce que je doute être possible.

entre en ligne de commande grub avec la touche "e" quand tu as selectionné "try ubuntu"
une fois en mode edition , à la fin de la ligne contenant linux vmlinuz-etc , ajouter nomodeset
valide la modif et boot ...

j'ai exécuté la commande : "sudo apt-get install grub-efi" une première fois suivi de la deuxième commande : "sudo grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --uefi-directory=/boot/efi --no-bootsector --recheck --debug /dev/sda", et j'ai redémarré mais ça n'a rien donné. Je suis revenu sur ubuntu.

résultats :

ça a marché avec "monodeset" comme expliqué ici. De plus j'avais un problème d'affichage avec des caractères flous. Avec la live session efi je n'en ai plus. Dois-je réinstaller Ubuntu? Dois-je utiliser boot-repair? Il me semble que du fait des problèmes d'affichage avec ubuntu en mode legacy, il vaudrait mieux que je réinstalle. Je ne sais pas, j'ai un peu peur de faire une bêtise. J'attends vos suggestions.

C'est nomodeset (pas monodeset). Puisque ça marche avec nomodeset, démarre en mode EFI sur ton support live qui marche avec nomodeset et fais un Boot-Info. Donne l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse.
But de ma demande : vérifier que tout est prêt pour que tu puisses faire une réparation avec Boot-repair depuis une session live (conversion du mode Legacy vers le mode EFI). A noter que si tu as merdé dans ta tentative précédente de conversion avec Boot-Repair (post #1), c'est précisément parce que tu tentais de le faire depuis une session live de Ubuntu démarrée en mode Legacy. Mon expérience : cette conversion Legacy vers EFI grâce à Boot-Repair ne fonctionne que depuis une session live de Ubuntu démarrée en mode EFI.

C'est exactement ce qu'il convient de faire donc je te propose de redémarrer en mode EFI comme tu as fait pour faire ce Boot-Info mais tu suivras ce paragraphe 1.2 Installer Boot-Repair depuis une session live (DVD ou liveUSB) de Ubuntu pour installer Boot-Repair puis tu lanceras Boot-Repair (2.1 Démarrage) et tu feras la Réparation recommandée. Au cours de la procédure de réparation, tu auras des commandes à passer : utilise le copier-coller (n'essaie même pas de taper les commandes : tu risquerais de faire des erreurs de frappe)

Ah, tiens, wawananda tu as fini par trouver comment démarrer un dvd en mode uefi, donc oui, boot-repair est maintenant utilisable.

Juste une remarque au sujet de ta tentative de réparation de la nuit dernière tu as, il me semble, oublié une commande sur deux.
Pas grave boot-repair fera aussi bien le travail et même sans doute mieux car je suis difficilement capable de t'expliquer à distance comment démarrer Ubuntu en mode uefi par le choix du programme de démarrage grubx64.efi.
Il n'est pas évident que le menu de ton firmware permette une sélection aisée des programmes de démarrage.

A ma connaissance non. Utilise Google pour la traduction des phrases que tu ne comprends pas et au besoin poste sur le forum pour dire ce que tu ne comprends pas.

Merci pour ta réponse, je me suis débrouillé avec mes quelques connaissances en Anglais. Et ça marche. J'ai bien grub au démarrage et je peux choisir l'un ou l'autre des OS sans problème. Faut-il utiliser "nomodeset" à chaque fois pour que ça démarre ou est-il possible de le laisser en permanence? Malbo je sais que tu as déjà répondu à cette question quelque part mais je ne sais plus où?

J'ai résolu le problème en lançant Boot-Repair :

Puis en cliquant sur "options avancées" :

Puis il faut cocher la case "Ajouter une option au noyau" et laisser "nomodeset" dans le menu déroulant, puis cliquer sur appliquer et laisser Boot-Repair faire.

je réessaie une dernière fois de redémarrer et je mettrai résolu sur le poste #1.

Dans la mesure où Ubuntu a démarré immédiatement après le boot-repair sans l'option nomodeset (en tout cas je le pense), tu as la réponse à ta question.
