Wifi sur Thinkpad T61p KO
Bonjour,
Je suis nouveau sur Linux. J'ai installer Ubuntu 8.04. Rencontrer des gens sympa au forum Logiciel Libre à la cité universitaire à Paris. Bref voilà un monde en phase ce que j'attends de l'informatique.
J'essaie de me connecter en wifi mais je n'y arrive pas.
J'ai été un bon élève, j'ai suivi l'aide ubuntu, puis l'aide en ligne, puis je me suis inscrit sur le forum, j'ai lu les post wifi, rien trouvé pour résoudre mon problème. Donc voilà je poste. Désolé par avance si c'est déjà résolu.

Cette carte fonctionne pourtant normalement d'origine... Tu es sûr que le WiFi est activé sur ton PC ?

que signifie Activé sur Ubuntu? Comment on active son wifi?
J'ai lu un post comme quoi si l'interrupteur était mis OFF sur windows ca pouvait posé problème sur Ubuntu.
J'ai un dual boot XP/Ubuntu sur ma machine. Je viens de redémarrer sous XP, mis wifi est actif (je vois la LED avec le symbole wifi en vert et l'interrupteur wifi est ON)

Voilà la ou j'en suis après mes recherches.
Quand 'jouvre le network manager, je vois mon réseau sans fil.
Je clique dessus, ca ouvre une fenetre : clé requise par le réseau sans fil.
Je laisse phrase de clé WEP 128 bits. Je reste en système ouvert, je clique sur se connecter.
Ya l'icone du NM qui change en mode une flèche qui tourne autour de 2 boules.
Et puis j'ai la fenetre : clé requise par le réseau sans fil qui s'ouvre à nouveau.
Je réitère, idem...

personnellement j'ai aussi des gros problemes avec cette carte wifi (4965AGN) sur mon T61p
juste après l'installation ça marche super, très bon débit etc
puis je ne sais pas si c'ets lié mais après les mises à jour la capacité de hardy heron à se connecter devient aléatoire
pour résumer : tantôt network manager (ou même wicd) ne voit pas mon ESSID
tantôt ça marche mais la vitesse de connection passe de 1,7 Mo/s à 200 ko/s
tantôt ça ne veut pas se connecter en WPA
j'ai fait de stas d'essais, j'ai lu en long et en large des tas de choses
j'ai essayé de changer le firmware utilisé par le pilote d'intel pour cette carte
tenté un changement de noyau
j'ai viré network manager pour mettre wicd
même els incantations vaudou
en vain
et il est hors de question pour moi d eme passer de wifi ou de me contenter d'une connection en WEP
alors je suis revenu a windows... après plus de deux ans que je l'avais quitté cui là... ça me fait tout bizarre
alors j'espère que intrepid ibex sera nickel à ce niveau
ou que je vais toruver la motivation et le temps pour refaire de la bidouille
enfin voilà.... ça faisait longtemps que j'avais pas eu envie de grogner comme ça pour un problème de support du matériel

Bon et bien je suis très content de intrepid ibex en 64 bits pour l'instant...
adieu les problemes de wifi décrits au dessus
fin de pleins d'autres problèmes sous hardy
tout semble être OK out of the box après quelques petits tests

la prochaine fois je tournerai ma langue dans ma bouche au moins 7 fois avant d el'ouvrir
sitôt les pilotes nvidia installés, un reboot plus tard.... le wifi refait chier à tomber à 150ko/s
je les hais !!!!

en fait sitot j'active compiz, sitot le wifi descend en débit
en virant les effets du bureau et apres une reconnection en wifi (voire un reboot quand le wifi ne veut pas se reconnecter).... le débit est à nouveau excellent
j'ai du mal à comprendre en quoi compiz peut impacter sur le fonctionnement d'une connection wifi toutefois
