Résolution tv lcd

Bonjour à tous !
Je viens d'installer ubuntu edgy sur mon pchc. J'ai pu installer beryl sans probleme avec les derniers drivers nvidia et tout marche nickel. Mais je n'arrive pas à mettre la bonne résolution de l'écran. C'est une tv de 32 pouces dont la réso native est 1366x768. Sur windows, j'utilisai powerstrip qui me mettait une réso de 1228x688 et ca affichait bien tout. J'ai déja essayé pas mal de paramétrage de mon xorg.conf avec un forcage des modelines mais il me plante systematiquement le serveur x et je suis obligé de repasser sur un xorg.conf de base. La réso actuelle est 1280x720. Elle affiche bien malgré tout mais je n'ai pas les barres des taches. Y'a t'il un équivalent de powerstrip ou y'a t'il une résolution qui pourrait passer ? Car cette ubuntu me plait vraiment bien et il ne me reste que ca pour la garder.

Merci de ta réponse rapide mais je viens d'essayer et ca ne marche pas. Quand tu dis de regarder mon HorizSync et VertRefresh de ma TV, ceux qui étaient par défaut dans le xorg sont      HorizSync       28.0 - 51.0 VertRefresh     43.0 - 60.0 et ca marche en 1280x720 mais y'a t'il des paramètres spécifiques pour ma tv qu'il faut que je recherche qq part (ma tv est toshiba 32wlg66) ?

Bonjour,

Puisqu'il y a une prise VGA, dans la Doc de ta TV il doit y avoir une section PC avec les caractéristiques pour l'utilisation en écran PC (Résolution, Fréquences,...).

En fait j'utilise l'interface dvi--> hdmi et j'aimerai ne pas avoir à repasser en vga mais si je n'ai pas le choix...

heu c'est quoi le message d'erreur ? (lance X sans Gdm : commande 'startx' sous un terminal CTRL+ALT+F1)
