Xorg et Firefox ne font pas bon ménage
Bonjour à tous,
Je suis un internaute, sur mon ordinateur je passe beaucoup de temps sur Firefox (10.0.2), et à chaque fois qu'une page est lourde/grande/surchargée (flash ou pas), Firefox ou Xorg (parfois les deux) monte beaucoup en consommation (jusqu'à 80 % du CPU pour le logiciel, et donc 100% bien mérité au total). J'ai déjà posté un bug sur lauchnpad. Je n'est trouvé aucune réponse simple et précise pour Ubuntu 11.10, j'espère que c'est vous qui me l'apporterais.

Aucune amélioration et j'ai vu que Firefox a fait une pointe à 100% du CPU pendant 5sec

C'est xorg qui fait ramer le cpu quand firefox est actif.
Souvent, pas toujours.
Tant que le calcul de l'affichage n'est pas complété, c'est affreux
un flash dans un onglet, même non affiché est affreux aussi
Cela se calme quand je rabaisse la fenêtre de firefox ... et redémarre en la réouvrant.
C'est pénible, me rappelle mes vieux ordinausaures d'il y a 10 ans, en pire
kubuntu 10.04LTS firefox 10.0.2

J'ai eu un problème tout à fait similaire et j'arrivais à un freeze qui pouvait durer plusieurs minutes.
Après avoir soupçonné Xorg , firefox, le disque dur j'ai fini par résoudre mon problème en abandonnant le pilote graphique propriétaire Nvidia.
Comme toi j'avais trouvé une page où je reproduisais systématiquement le problème.
Ce n'est qu'une piste.

A priori la cause chez moi est peut être une cousine, pas une soeur jumelle de la tienne :

Je cherche xorg.conf pour voir ... mais dans http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/xorg je trouve qu'il y en a plus pour ubuntu 10.04LTS, ma distrib pour 2 mois encore
Et puis, c'est vraiment Firefox qui fait cela (remarque je ne me sert pas d'un autre navigateur)
Viens de mettre Ad block plus, Flashblock ... pour le moment cela va !
Autre optimisation faite récemment :
mettre /tmp et /var/tmp en mémoire vive. Il me semble bien que c'est mieux
mais pas efficace contre firefox.
Je suis sur que c'est xorg qui sature. J'ai un afficheur graphique de charge système et j'ai passé xorg en nice : priorité réduite (que les autres activités de la machine soient pas bloquées par xorg. Dans mon afficheur graphique de charge du processeur (kde) l'activité en nice apparait en jaune, c'est bien xorg qui s'affole.
