@bennohite : tu devrais préciser dans ton premier post qu'il est nécessaire d'installer le package build-essential pour réussir la maneouvre (de même que pour utiliser l'installeur de ATI) car il n'est pas mis par défaut. (je n'ai pas lu les 5 pages)

j'ai un problème lors du make_install :

Qqu'un utilise TVTime avec les derniers drivers ? Personnellement j'ai un message d'erreur et il ne veut pas démarrer.

Je n'ai pas encore fais de recherche mais dès que je trouve, je poste

J'ai enfin réussis à avoir les derniers drivers fonctionnels sur mon pc (9700pro) smile

Il doit y avoir un bug avec cette carte, j'ai une 8500 aussi et ça freeze, c'est inutilisable.
Si quelqu'un connaissait la solution (enfin s'il y en a une) ce serait sympa.

moi qui n'y connais pas encore grand chose, j'aimerai savoir si la 3D fonctionnera avec ma carte 9600 xt ??
et quel driver je dois charger,stp car yen a plusieurs..

J'avais réussi sous mandrake et debian mais la ça marche pas et je comprends vraiment pas pourquoi.

Sinon au démarage la version du driver semble être la 8.14.13 (si je me rappelle bien ), une vieille version installée avant qui n'a jamais marchée ( mais j'ai pas vraiment essayé non plus).
J'ai fait les manipulations décrites dans un des premiers messages de ce forum mais ca n'a pas marché...
donc je dois décharger le module fglrx , ensuite je fait un insmod ./fglrx.ko dans /lib/module/fglrx , je redémarre X et d'apres le log de X ca charge la derniere version.

EDIT: J'ai plus ce problème, j'ai supprimé ( apres recherche ) tous les fichiers dont le nom contenait fglrx dans /lib et réinstallé, maintenant le log de xorg indique la version 8.16.20 dès le premier lancement. Mais à part ça ça n'a rien changé...

glxgears tourne vite au début puis d'un coup ca ralentit tellemment que les FPS s'affichent même pas dans la console...

fgl_glxgears plante directement.

J'ai parcouru que les 3 1ere pages et je n'ai vu personne parler de la config de fglrxconfig.

Pour le configurer j'ai utiliser le tuto pour mandriva suivant : http://www.pcinpact.com/forum/sujet_238 … ntry708783
Attention ! pas le script, il est pour mandriva (et il marche tres bien mais n'install pas les dernier drivers). J'ai juste utiliser les conseil qui se trouve dans le chapitre "Configuration du serveur graphique:"


Pour poster facilement des images et fichiers sur un forum jetez un coup d'oeil ici

Enfin bon il fonctionnait pas trop, d'abord j'ai eu un probleme avec le BUSID "1:0:0" ou un truc comme ça(en tout cas ca démarrait pas) , apparament ce qui fonctionne avec ma carte c'est 3:0:0 (c'est ce que génère ma carte avec un commentaire  avec deux nombres que je retrouve justement à la ligne 3:0:0 avec lspci )

mais bon ya ce warning bizare...
(WW) fglrx: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:3:0:1) found

ensuite j'ai eu un problème avec le clavier, bon jme suis dit jpeux mettre la section qui marchait bien de l'ancien xorg.conf...

puis un problème de chemins de polices..

Donc finalement j'ai essayé de voir les principales différences entre le fichier que tu m'a proposé et celui que j'avais avant, puis de modifier mon xorg.conf en conséquence, et ça marche toujours pas...
Je crois que je vais repasser en hoary et réessayer sad

Sinon c'est justement le tuto dont jonas parle qui m'a aidé à m'en sortir sous mandriva hmm

pour désinstaller, tu as un fichier fglrx-uninstall à exécuter. Je crois qu'il est dans /usr/fglrx/
Ce script supprime tout sauf le module noyau et le dossier fglrx créé das /lib/modules big_smile

J'ai essayer toutes ces manips, sans succes.

Je tourne sur une breezy avec kernel 2.6.13.1 (je sais plus ce que j'ai mis en option pour le framebuffer)

j'ai les meme soucis que MuZu (le glxgears qui tourne "correctement" pendant 2 secondes puis 1-2 fps et score qui ne s'affiche pas.)

également le meme warning:

(WW) fglrx: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:2:0:1) found

alors que mon xorg.conf indique bien un BusID PCI:2:0:0

Une idée svp ?

J'ai réussie a faire marcher pleinement ma 9800Pro grace a ce topic, mais y'a quand meme un truc qui me chiffone, ma carte fait un drole de bruit quand je lance glxgears et plus encore avec fgl_glxgears.

Un bruit dans le genre grésillement (j'ai l'impression d'entendre les engrenages tourner) pour le premier et siflement pour le second (pas constant le sifflement, mais periodique).
J'ai stoper mes ventilo un instant pour etre sûr, et c'est bien la carte graphique qui fait ce bruit hmm .

Je précise que je n'ai pas de boitier, tout est posé sur mon bureau, mais quand meme c la premiere fois que j'entend ma carte graphique.

J'ai installer Chromium -> pas de bruit
puis armagetron -> pas de bruit sauf si je passe en resolution 640*480 là j'ai un sifflement, puis en 800*600 il s'attenue au delà je le percoi pas .

@Saelynh: Pas tant que ca, l'écran est dans le coin de mon bureau, la mobo sur un spindle de cd vide en dessous les periph IDE, le tout a coté de l'écran dans l'espace mort, l'alim est derriere l'ecran, juste un truc qui fait vraiment pas serieux c'est le ventilo qui est juste posé sur le radiateur du proc tongue
