Plus de son après Upgrade vers Gusty (carte son usb non reconnue)
Voilà, je n'ai plus de son après migration vers Gusty (carte son usb Alesis io/2 qui fonctionnait très bien avec Feisty Fawn). Je n'avais rien eu à faire de particulier pour la faire marcher auparavant, elle était directement reconnue avec le live cd.
Voici quelques pistes pour m'aider :

Apparemment, la carte son semble reconnue... (aplay -l) mais aussi :

J'ai viré les fichiers .asoundrc et .asoundrc.asoundconf (du répertoire personnel en les renommant en "old.asoundrc et old.asoundre.asoundconf)
J'ai lancé la commande :
$soundconf set-default-card io2Fermeture et réouverture de session
Maintenant, le son marche une demi seconde avant de planter....
On avance, on avance...

Le son marche avec Jack et Ardour... Vraiment, on est plus très loin !

Je n'ai toujours pas de son avec les applications classiques (xmms, amarok, vlc, totem etc.) : elles plantent.
Est ce que quelqu'un a une idée ?

Bon, ça marche désormais avec alsa mais j'ai du modifier le fichier ~/.asoundrc.
Ceci est spécifique à la carte Alesis io2. Voici l'explication :
Getting it to work with Linux was painless, except for one caveat: The device only does 24bit, no 16bit or even 8... That means, most programs won't work with it. Only jackd opens the device without throwing errors.
Since I wanted to test other programs with the device I started playing with the ~/.asoundrc file. With a simple trick, ALSA can automatically convert 16Bit audio data to 24Bit:
J'avais déjà du faire cette modif auparavant, mais le fichier a du sauter avec l'upgrade. Voici donc mon fichier .asoundrc :

}Pour ceux qui veulent faire fonctionner cette carte avec Jack pour faire de la MAO, voici les réglages que j'utilise (avec l'interface graphique de Jack) : Realtime, Monitor, Frames/Period : 64, interface : hw:1 (la carte son quoi), driver : alsa.
Voilà voilà, tout marche maintenant, j'espère que ça pourra en aider d'autres dans le même cas que moi....

bonjour,dis j'ai un pepin avec cette carte,elle fonctionne,reconnue et tout et tout,mais c'est avec jack et ardour que je m'y perds, j'arrive a lancer les deux,créer ma piste,enregistrer,mais apres pour ce qui est de la lecture du son enregistré, néant...je vois pourtant que quelque chose est lu à l'écran...je cherche sur le net,mais je ne trouve qu'approximativement des bouts de solutions...si j'amais une idee...merci d'avance
