Dossier var/log de plus de 22go

Bonjour,

J'ai un gros soucis.
Ma partition réservé à mon ubuntu de 30go est complètement remplie... Je ne comprends pas comment c'est possible
En fouillant un peu je vois que mon dossier var/log pèse 22go...

C'est quoi tout ça ? Apparemment j'ai lu que c'est des lignes d'erreurs
Mais 22go...!!

Comment me sortir de là svp ? Je peux supprimer des trucs ?

(j'ai une imprimante hp multifonction, de ce que j'ai lu ça peut être lié)

22 Go : c'est énorme : il y a probablement au moins 1 fichier qui doit avoir une taille anormale.
Il faut regarder s'il n'y a pas une ligne ou un groupe de lignes qui se répète sans cesse...
C'est souvent dû à un problème (ou une mauvaise configuration) matériel.

Salut,

Comme dit jplemoine, il y a un problème. Commence par voir quel fichier dans /var/log est le gros puis poste son contenu.

Ouvrir un log de plusieurs Go sans planter le pc... hum.

Identifions déjà les fichiers les plus lourds. Donne les dernières lignes de :

du -sh /var/log/* | sort -h

Ensuite

ls -l /var/log

donnera leurs dates, ce qui permettra de voir si logrotate est actif et correctement réglé.

Merci pour vos réponses mais je n'arrive plus à redémarrer... L'espace disque dédié à ubuntu est full
(pourtant ce matin ça a fonctionné)

Je dois repasser par une ré-install ? Ou puis-je faire les manips à partir du live cd ?

Tu peux faire les manip depuis un live cd. Une fois sur le bureau avec ce dernier, tu montes la partition sur laquelle se trouve /var/log en dur puis, tu tapes sudo gedit ensuite tu vas dans /var/log et tu nous dis lequel des fichiers est le plus gros en taille et tu nous postes les 200 dernières lignes de son contenu, après on verra.

Alors j'ai un fichier "syslog" qui fait un peu plus de 10go
Là il est en train de charger toutes les lignes... C'est mega long, il faut que je parte bosser donc si vous voulez les 200 dernières lignes ce sera ce soir
Je sais pas si on peut déjà avancer avec ça

Tant que t'auras pas posté ces 200 dernières lignes on pourra pas avancer mais on sait lequel se remplis anormalement...

tu peux essayer de l'ouvrit avec tail : ça met les n dernières...

Salut,

Il n'y a pas besoin d'ouvrir le fichier avec un éditeur de texte. Il y a des commandes qui font ça beaucoup plus vite.

sudo tail -n 200 /var/log/syslog

Edit : grillé...

Le tail fonctionne depuis un live cd... Et rendra le retour du syslog sur le live cd.

Tel que c'est, oui. Mais il faut monter la bonne partition, celle qui contient le /var/log pathologique. Comme je ne sais pas laquelle est concernée...
Il faut faire un truc de ce genre, en remplaçant X et n par les bonnes valeurs :

sudo mount /dev/sdXn /mnt
sudo tail -n 200 /mnt/var/log/syslog

Il a booté depuis le live cd, s'il fait tail ça renverra les infos du /syslog du live cd pas celui du /syslog en dur sur son HDD précédent.

Ben non, s'il prend le bon point de montage. Mais oui, il ne faut pas prendre le /var/log s'il est sous Live CD.
Il faut prendre <point_de_montage>/var/log comme indiqué par Rufus T. Firefly à 14:48

Houps... Le mien fait 438k pour un système installé en Avril....
Donc, il y a clairement un problème...
On dirait que tu utilises un disque (ou une clé) USB et qu'il y a un problème avec...

Elle est allumée au boot cette imprimante ? Si oui éteint-la lors du boot et donne le retour de (avant de l'éteindre) :

lsusb

Une fois fait, tape ceci puis reboot :

sudo rm /var/log/kern.log

sudo rm /var/log/syslog

Une fois à nouveau sur le bureau donne le retour de :

cat /varlog/syslog

J'ai redémarré sur le live cd après débranchement de mon imprimante

(Mes 2 fichiers "syslog" et "kern.log" de chacun 10.5go sont toujours présents)

Je l'ai fais juste au dessus après redémarrage sur mon live cd avec imprimante éteinte (pour la planète ) et débranchée
