[RESOLU] Problème usb/bios après install'

Bonjour,
Mon ubuntu 20.04 devenait un peu instable suite à l'essai de multiples logiciels. Je me suis donc fendu d'une belle sauvegarde et d'une réinstallation par clef usb bootable histoire d'être refait pour l'hiver.
Depuis cette réinstallation, je ne peux plus booter sur une clef usb : l'écran avec le logo du bios se fige si une clef est connectée (quelque soit le port), ubuntu ne se lance pas et je ne peux pas entrer dans le bios avec la touche habituelle (F2).
Si j'allume sans clef connectée, ça se lance normalement et je peux accéder au bios ...
J'ai cru remarquer que si j'allume sans clef connectée, que je vais dans le bios et que seulement alors je branche une clef, ça freeze jusqu'à ce que je débranche la clef, et que ça remarche ...

J'ai un peu pensé à un problème physique (d'autant que ma sauvegarde à bien pris du temps et a bien sollicité le port usb) mais le problème est le même avec les ports usb à l'arrière de la machine.

Je vois bien une suggestion de réparation à la fin mais je ne sais pas comment la mettre en oeuvre ...

Bonjour
Tu as dit "je ne peux plus booter sur une clef usb"   Boot-repair ne répare que les boot sur disque dur.     Le  problème est dans le bios ou dans ta clé USB
Sous UBUNTU, peux-tu regarder le contenu de sa partition FAT32B car tu as oublié de la brancher pour faire le boot-info, ou alors, elle était branchée et les "circuits" USB" sont en panne

Ta clé USB est bien bootable en mode légacy

 => Syslinux MBR (5.00 and higher) is installed in the MBR of /dev/sdb.

Mais la structure de boot en EFI a ramassé un gros choc

Il faut en refaire une.
Je ne sais pas  reconnaître la signature, mais elle ressemble beaucoup   au résultat de cette commande

sudo grub-install /dev/sdX1

Dans certains contextes,    La clé USB, peut être vue comme étant /dev/sda1

Je viens de refaire une clef avec le logiciel "Disques".
C'est une autre clef.
C'est une nouvelle image toute fraîche téléchargée de ubuntu 20.04

j'insère la clef,
je démarre l'ordi
il se bloque à l'affichage du logo du bios
si je retire la clef et reboot, il se lance normalement ...

Ben le truc c'est que je ne pense pas avoir de problème au niveau du grub. C'est en amont, immédiatement après l'allumage de l'ordi et le chargement du bios, non pas de l'OS ...

Je fouille je fouille ... sans bien comprendre ...
Dans mon bios (uefi), en mode avancé, j'ai un onglet "utilitaire ASUS EZ Flash 2".
Si je clique dessus il me renvoie vers une arborescence de fichiers, a priori destinés aux mises à jour, et là je n'ai qu'un lecteur proposé (fs0:\) avec un dossier daté du 31/10/2020 (date de ma dernière installation d'ubuntu qui m'a mis le brain).
Donc je clique.
là j'ai une arborescence comme ça : fs0:\EFI\
et 2 dossiers au choix :
10/31/20   03:25p   <DIR>   ubuntu
10/31/20   03:25p   <DIR>   BOOT

Quand je clique dessus ... et bien rien ...

Pourtant c'est bien par là que doit se faire une éventuelle mise à jour du bios il me semble, non ?

J'ai du mal a comprendre tes problèmes

A) pour la mise à jour du bios
   Il y a toutes les chances que   "ASUS EZ Flash 2" soit l'utilitairepour mettre à jour le bios.
    Mais il faudrait d'abord télécharger un firmware    ....
     Peux-tu indiquer la référence de ton ordinateur si c'est un portable ou de la carte mère dans le cas contraire   et aller dans le bios pour rechercher la version trouvée.

B)   Je viens de relire les échanges.
     Si je ne me trompe pas, ton problème est de booter  avec la clé USB que tu viens de fabriquer.
   
    Evite d'utiliser le logiciel disque pour fabriquer une clé usb pour un ordinateur puriste comme le tien qui n'accepte certainement que le format disque-dur  pour les clés USB en ne traitant pas le format     CD-ROM!!!!

S'il te plaît, si tu en as le temps, pourrais-tu expliquer à quelqu'un en UEFI (tu sais que je n'ai aucune expérience) comment démarrer sur son noyau précédent ?
(On soupçonne la dernière mise à jour de noyau d'avoir cassé la wifi. Et le pc n'a pas de RJ45.)

Salut Geole,
Les choses ont bougé depuis tout à l'heure.
J'ai réussi à flasher le bios (je crois qu'on dit ça, à faire la mise à jour quoi).
J'ai suivi cette page : https://www.malekal.com/mise-a-jour-bios-asus-ez-flash/
Et pour répondre à mon précédent post, il fallait copier le fichier téléchargé dans le dossier BOOT à la racine de Ubuntu pour qu'il apparaisse dans l'utilitaire de mise à jour du bios.
De là, pourquoi comment je ne sais pas mais l'ordi accepte de nouveau de prendre les clefs usb au boot, alors qu'avant il buggait sur l'image de chargement du bios lorsqu'une clef était branchée ...

Du coup je me suis refait une clef usb toute neuve avec unetbootin et je me suis réinstallé une Ubuntu 20 propre.
Cela semble régler le problème de cette discussion m^eme si ça n'explique pas les raisons du problème.
Ça résout aussi cette discussion : https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=2052386 (pourquoi comment, je ne sais pas non plus.)

On se retrouve sur mes autres petits problèmes et sur ceux à venir wink (Je n'ai toujours pas réussi à faire tourner ma carte graphique avec ses drivers proprios ...)
