Précautions à prendre avant futur changement du DD de l'ordi ?

Bonjour à tous,

mon ordinateur se fait vieux, et outre un changement de batterie, un réparateur m'a conseillé de changer les DD avant qu'ils ne tombent en panne.Je m'apprête à suivre son conseil, mais j'aimerais prendre toutes précautions pour éviter tout déboire lors de la réinstallation de mon ordinateur. Quels sont vos conseils à ce sujet ?

Parmi les points "sensibles" pour moi, je pourrais citer ceux-ci, sans que ce soit exhaustif :

- Comment réaliser LA sauvegarde du contenu de l'ordinateur ?

- notamment, concernant les pilotes du matériel extérieur qu'il m'arrive de raccorder à l'ordi (imprimante, scanner, etc, dont certains anciens, et pas forcément d'usage fréquent de ma part) : il m'est arrivé de galérer pour arriver à les piloter correctement, et j'aimerais bien conserver cet acquis: quels sont les fichiers à sauvegarder spécifiquement pour cela ?

- récemment, j'avais sollicité l'aide du forum (https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.p … 073292&p=4) pour un problème d'écran non reconnu après une MAJ. il était ensuite question de continuer les MAJ, en faisant une partition auparavant, etc, mais je n'ai pas eu la disponibilité suffisante pour le faire, et là, vient se greffer cette intervention : comment gérer cela ? Installer ensuite la version actuelle de KDE, en sachant que malgré les progrès obtenus, il reste quelques détails qui "déraillent" , question écran, mais c'est mineur, et je préférais essayer d'avancer vers les versions plus récentes, ou passer directement à la dernière version ? Autre suggestion ?

- J'ai également un problème de clavier, dont je n'ai pas parlé sur le forum. En août, j'ai remplacé mon clavier, car 2 touches ne fonctionnaient plus, en me procurant le neuf auprès d'un fournisseur qui m'avait vendu le précédent en 2016. Comme il avait bien fonctionné, j'ai conservé le même fournisseur. Sauf que cette fois, ce changement a simplement déplacé le problème : au lieu des touches précédemment invalides, c'est maintenant notamment la touche "espace" qui fonctionne de façon aléatoire. Le vendeur, contacté, m'a répondu ceci :

    Eteignez votre PC, débranchez-le électriquement et enlevez la batterie.
    Démontez le clavier
    Nettoyez le bout de la nappe de connexion du clavier, à l'aide d'une bombe nettoyante (Eau Ecarlate par exemple) afin de déloger toutes substances étrangères (des morceaux de sparadraps se sont peut-être incrustés)
    A l'aide d'une bombe soufflante, nettoyer l'intérieur des touches : une touche incrustée peut générer des entrées non souhaitées.
    Remontez le clavier en veillant à bien insérer la nappe.
    Rebranchez le tout et effectuez un nouveau test sous le BIOS.
    Si les problèmes persistent, effectuez la mise à jour du BIOS.

Sachez que tous nos claviers sont testés après leur sortie d'usine et que la plupart des problèmes rencontrés sont soit liés à la carte mère, soit au système BIOS qui n'a pas été mis à jour dernièrement.

J'ai fait ce qui était demandé, à part le test sous le BIOS, et la "mise à jour du BIOS", vu que j'ignore comment faire. Le problème est inchangé, et j'aimerais bien y remédier. Y aurait-il quelque chose à faire, au cours de la réinstallation qui puisse aider, côté clavier ?

- Par ailleurs, mon pavé tactile ne fonctionne plus (arrachage sauvage  de la nappe par quelqu'un qui disait "vouloir m'aider". J'utilise une souris, en remplacement, et cela ne me dérange pas vraiment, mais, j'ignore si c'est lié ou pas, mon lecteur de CD/DVD ne fonctionne pas non plus, et, du coup, je ne pourrai pas l'utiliser pour ma future installation. La faire avec une clé USB? Si oui, avec seulement KDE, et quelle version ? ou la clé peut-elle être partiellement occupée par autre chose ?Je suppose qu'il vaut mieux que je me procure tout cela avant de faire installer les nouveaux DD ? Vaut-il mieux que je fasse installer Windows (vendu avec les DD), comme le propose le réparateur, quitte à le désinstaller ensuite moi-même, partitionner et installer KDE, ou ??? Quelle est, selon vous, la meilleure façon de faire, sachant que mon niveau est proche de zéro, vous l'avez compris ...

Dans un premier temps, tu peux savoir si tes disques sont effectivement en fin de vie ou pas, avec smartmontools : https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/smartmontools

Fais une analyse smart, comme détaillé au 3.1 et en fonction des résultats, tu pourras prendre la décision de changer les disques ou pas.

Si tu prends la décision de changer les disques, en prenant un disque de taille équivalente ou supérieure au disque qui contient le système, tu peux faire une copie avec dd et ça devrait booter comme s'il n'y avait pas eu de changement.

EDIT : point important -> la seule chose que nous ne pouvons te fournir, ce sont tes fichiers perso. Donc il est impératif que tu aies une sauvegarde de ces fichiers. Pour le reste, normalement on peut tout rétablir.

Bonjour
Si tu changes de disques(s), cela peut  être l'occasion de tout réorganiser pour installer le logiciel sur un SSD dix  fois plus rapide. Peut-être mettre les données personnelles ailleurs que dans le logiciel?
ou de   regrouper deux petits disques dans un seul disque plus grand.
Dans ce contexte, la commande dd  va être limitée. Le plus normal est de travailler partition par partition en la dupliquant par copier/coller avec gparted, ce qui te permet de soit l'agrandir soit la rétrécir et de la mettre ou tu le souhaites. La partition O.S. devant devant être dupliquée en live-USB.

Tu n'as pas lieu de réinstaller windows.    Pour fabriquer une clé de boot,  je te conseille ventoy. Si tu as une clé usb (ou un disque dur externe)  de très grande capacité, tu peux en réserver une partie pour toi.

avec tout ce qui ne fonctionne pas et/ou plus, c'est pas les DD que je changerais, c'est la bécane !
on ne fait pas de greffe sur un moribond.

C'est vrai que la liste des trucs à améliorer sur mon ordi est un peu longue, mais il reste fonctionnel, malgré tout, et le budget pour le remplacer n'est pas à ma portée, actuellement. Je vais donc essayer de le prolonger ...

merci de ce conseil: pour le moment, je viens juste d'installer smartmontools. Je continue ... comme quasi chaque mot me semble un peu de l'hébreu, c'est vite laborieux, et pas rapide, mais ça va se faire ...

Tu peux obtenir la liste de tes disques avec cette commande

sudo fdisk -l | grep "Disque /dev/sd"

Puis il ne te reste plus qu'a faire

sudo smartctl  -s on -a /dev/sdX

en remplaçant X part la bonne lettre

9 erreurs actuellement signalées qu'il faudrait traiter en faisant un test long par smartcl après avoir déjà traité cette erreur 268435455 ( Je peux diriger la réparation)
On va lire 8 secteurs consécutifs pour vérifier que l'incident perdure.

Dans le forum, certains disent qu'il ne faut pas se poser de questions. il faut le remplacer  pour ne pas se compliquer la vie.

3) Le troisième disque est un disque externe, il faut des options supplémentaires

Il s’agit d’un disque dur externe (Western Digital Elements 2620 (WD40NDZW)) et il faut donc ajouter l’option -d comme indiqué dans le message. Pour ce modèle il s’agit de -d sat.
Donc donne le retour de :

sudo smartctl -s on -d sat -a /dev/sdc

Pour l’interprétation des résultats, je redonne la main à geole.

On lit la premiere sequence mauvaise detectée.

, et ensuite je "refais" un rapport smartctl de ce disque, sauf que j'ai pas compris en quoi ça consiste, si j'en ai déjà fait un : c'est le tout premier ?

sudo smartctl  -s on -a /dev/sdb

c'est ça ? ou, sinon ?

Et si je dois le faire demain, c'est pour quelle raison ? parce que le test sur la première moitié du disque va durer longtemps ?

C'est bien cette commande a lancer

 sudo smartctl  -t select,0-999999999  /dev/sdb 

Sauf qu'elle va durer des heures . Soit tu suis son excécution soit  tranquilement demain  tu refais le même rapport smartclt,

sudo smartctl  -s on -a /dev/sdb

Je t'ai précisé les zones qui vont être renseignées. On y trouvera le premier secteur illisible

Tu  regarder dans six heures si c'est fini.
Tu peux même donner tout de suite ce retour dix minutes après le lancement  car je ne sais plus exactement ce qu'il contient

sudo smartctl -a /dev/sdb | grep left
