Tutorial drivers NVidia pour ACER Aspire 1522/1524WLMi

Les drivers nvidia d'origine fournis par Ubuntu (Breezy) fonctionnent tres bien dès l'installation du système sur le portable ACER Aspire 1522 WLMi (NVidia GeforceGO 5700) avec résolution de 1280x800.

Le problème de résolution survient lorsqu'on installe les drivers propriétaires de NVidia.
Nous allons voir comment y remédier via ce bref tutorial :

1) Installation des drivers propriétaires NVidia
Ouvrir Synaptic (Système>Administration>Gestionnaire des paquets Synaptic)
Rechercher le paquet nvidia-glx et l'installer (ainsi que ses éventuelles dépendances)
Puis redemarrer X via les touches Ctrl+Alt+Return afin d'appliquer les changements.
Le logo NVidia devrait apparaitre.

A ce stade les pilotes NVidia sont fonctionnels mais la résolution est de 1024x768
Nous allons donc regler le probleme

2)Ouvrir la console et aller editer le fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf pour y ajouter les lignes suivantes dans la section Monitor:
     Option "IgnoreEDID" "1"
     DisplaySize 569 356

Vérifier également dans la section Device si il y a bien
     Driver    "nvidia"

Sauvegardez votre fichier xorg.conf  puis redemarrer X via Ctrl+Alt+Return

La résolution 1280x800 devrait maintenant etre accessible via Systeme>Preferences>Resolution de l'ecran

je met au cas ou une copie de mon xorg.conf afin que vous puissiez comparer :

Je tiens également a préciser que l'installation des drivers NVidia règle le problème de l'image brouillée lorsque l'on regarde des videos en plein écran
