Xtend for heyu x10

I install heyu + domus.Link as a frontend on my ubuntu 9.04 to manage my x10 configuration.

I discovered xtend can be used as an extension to heyu to monitor and perform specific actions (i.e send an email when a light is turned on)

I downloaded from the website http://www.jabberwocky.com/software/xtend/

untared the gz file, but now I'm stuck ...could not find any installation, tutorial

Does anyone as a clue on how to install it
